Twin Hi-Way Drive-In

Excellent business, I’m so glad that’s have such a nice drive in next to our new house. The kids love it and we try to go at least twice a month. The concession stand is very clean and welcoming, and the employees helping with parking are very nice.

My husband and I showed up for a movie on a Saturday night. We showed up at 7:50 PM, a bit early before the gates were supposed to open at 8 PM. Many cars were lined up and waiting to purchase tickets, so getting off the road and on to the property was difficult. The ticket price was cheaper than what you would find at a typical indoor movie theater. We drove our car back to screen #2. We were told exactly where to park and did not get to choose our spot. We went to the concession stand to purchase food. The building had lots of space to stand in line indoors. The food was typical concession stand stuff such as soda, popcorn, and candy. The prices and service were OK there. We walked back to the car and waited for our movie to begin at 9:15 PM as the website said. The movie did not begin. We used the restrooms, which were old but had many toilets. We returned to our car and continued to stare at a blank screen. The movie finally started at 9:50 PM. No employee explained to us why the movie was starting late. We noticed that the screen did not have a flat surface so created lines throughout the movie picture. We could hear the sound well on our car speakers. When the movie ended, a man on the radio thanked the customers for our earlier wait on the business to admit additional cars. Apparently they had made the customers who showed up on time wait 35 minutes so that they could make more money off late customers. I understand that they want to get as much business as possible, but they inconvenienced us. Because the movie started late, we left after the first movie and did not stay for the second movie, which we really wanted to see. We were tired and got home a bit before 1 AM. We will not return to this drive-​in. Our favorite drive-​in is nearby Dependable, and we will keep going there in the future.

It’s a hot 89 degree May evening. Perfect for a drive in movie! Staff is always great. Great price. Great snacks from the snack bar. Pizza is pretty good. Kids love the icees.

Saw Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles here and had a great time. They aren’t real strict about outside food and drink and had a helpful staff. Good screens for it being a drive-​in. The only part I didn’t like was the old people who gave my a hard time for having what they called a «truck,» newsflash old people, the Ford Escape isn’t a truck, you can see the screen just fine, but I still moved it. Well priced also.

We used to like coming to this drive-​in but are quickly changing our minds. The bathrooms are FILTHY and they let the SUVs keep their tailgates all the way up making it very difficult to see the bottom third of the screen. Management could care less, when you complain to them they just say that they are allowed. Other local drive-​ins make you tie them down. I would rather pay more and see the screen than come here again.

I love the retro buildings and how fun it is to watch a movie from your car at this place! It’s affordable and fun for a group of people on a summer night. The only thing that stinks is the bathrooms (no pun intended). They smell like dirty stale urine and if you look at the base of the toilets they’re covered in dried urine streaks. Whoever cleans the bathrooms needs to do a better job or people are gonna start using the parking lot as the new restroom facility.

So happy that they resurrected this drive in in 2007! Drive in movies are so much fun for the whole family!
This particular drive in opens 1 HR before showtime. There are 2 screens. Cost is very reasonable. They have plenty of room for the kids to run around and play ball before the movie starts. They supposedly have a rule about no outside food but we always bring a tailgate with pizza and snacks and a cooler of drinks. Shhh!
The concession stand does have a great selection including burgers, pizza, popcorn, hot dogs, fries, funnel cakes, nachos, and hot pretzels. There is also a game room with air hockey and some other arcade games.
We are fortunate that it’s about 3 mi from our home so we are frequent flyers!

Absolutely terrible experience. The movie started ~15 minutes late, tall cars with tailgates open and children on the roofs were everywhere, whereas normally these are placed in the back so as not to block other viewers, and people aren’t allowed to have tailgates up. Also, the sound cut out ¾ of the way through the movie, and was not fixed or apologized for for quite a while. ⁰⁄₁₀ would not recommend

The sheer fun of a lost in time recreation is why I give it 5 stars. There are very few drive-​ins in the country and I have the pleasure if having 2 very near. This drive-​in offers a 1950’s style concession stand and all the old movie goers faves like popcorn, pizza, hot dogs, etc. the area is kept clean and organized. It’s one of my favorite places to take my kids. They love sitting in or on the car with blankets to watch not one, but two movies!

This drive-​in theatre was closed in 1996, but was brought back to life in 2007. And according to
, it’s on an old stretch of the original Lincoln Highway, formerly designated as U.S. 22/U.S. 30, hence the name Twin-​Hi Ways Drive-​In.
My friends and I came out here the other night for a girls’ night out at the movies. We’d never been here before, but a few of us are drive-​in veterans. We took my friend Marla’s pickup truck, backed it into the stall, and created our own version of stadium seating in the flatbed using bricks and a sheet of plywood.
Anyway, the moviegoing experience here is quite good. We had no problems with the picture quality or sound (we tuned in a radio to their frequency). They have a few strict rules here, namely no outside food or beverages (boo, hiss) and like all-​drive-​ins, SUVs, vans, and trucks have to park near the back. But still, a night at the drive-​in is fun. And in this day and age when a lot of drive-​ins have closed because of rising land values, it’s amazing that one was brought back from the dead.

Drive-​ins are awesome.
This isn’t the biggest or nicest drive-​in in the area (one out by airport) but it’s still cool, good atmosphere, and all around a fun time.
⁸⁄₂₀₁₂ — 6.50 per person. Always a double feature… but the 2^nd one gets pretty late in the summer (starts around midnight). Usually a «kid movie» screen and a «latest blockbuster» screen.
Large pop & popcorns get free refills.

I cannot speak to the facility or the service it offers, but I can speak about the ownership and business practices. My wife and I were denied entry because of a service dog. The owner himself stated that service dogs could not enter, even after we explained about the Americans with Disabilities Act. If that is the type of customer service you can expect from this business, I would say avoid it at all costs.

This place is very special to me because it was the very first Drive-​in that me and my wife went to… and we were very pleased. The funny thing is we found this gem by accident on our way to Paradise Beach (which i reviewed earlier) during the day… and we agreed to come back and check out the spot later that night. We arrived at about 6:30 to see a double feature, first movie «Indiana Jones and The crystal skull, which was horrible… second movie was «Man of Honor» which was a chick flick but it was pretty good.
The double feature was only about 12 bucks for the both of us… and the service was great. The staff was very friendly. and they even had concessions just in case you didn’t bring your own food. The reason i didn’t give this establishment 5 stars was because of the concessions, they were a bit overpriced and the lines were slow because they were under staffed but they were still very friendly.
So if your ever in these neck of the woods and trust me it is in the middle of no where… and i mean the whole town for that matter… stop by and pay these nice folks a visit you will not regret it. Eat, Drink, and Be Merry my Friends!!!
