Residence Inn

During the stay the staff was friendly and the hotel was clean. However, my receipt was incorrect and could only be changed by a manager. This took a lot of effort on my part and required follow up for a week. The managers were not receptive to my claim and after arguing with me, only corrected my bill as a favor. I will not be staying here again.

FLEAS!!! Multiple people here have been discussing spider bites on their bodies but they are fleas! I work in healthcare and stay here for work. I felt something biting me one night on my shoulder, turned on the light and found a flea on me! Sure enough, one of my colleagues has bites all over her legs and when she called, they checked it out and the hotel said there were fleas when they pulled back her sheet.
They allow animals and told her they do not flea bomb the rooms each time an animal stays there.
Besides the major bug issue causing health concerns, the hotel is nice and the employees are wonderful.

I have been a Marriott Gold Rewards member for 10 years and have stayed at various Marriott brands all over the Country. I stayed here several years ago when new and was very pleased. Then a couple years later and it was drastically different but hey a bad room from time to time doesn’t make me throw in the towel. However once again I stayed on Oct 10, 2015 and its official… it is a total disgusting wreck. Stains and tears on furniture, stains throughout on carpet, red blood looking stuff on the bath door, carpet and chair, grease on refrigerator and cabinet handles… and it goes on. I asked to speak with the revenue manager three times and never once got a reply or call. I have pictures to back up everything I am saying. HILTON HONORS, HERE I COME!
On another site the Manager of this Marriott replied he was sorry my stay didn’t meet their usual high standards and that they were under renovation to improve… HAHAHA, Bulldookie! There was no renovation going on, no one called me and when I asked to speak with a manager directly not only did I not get a reply but the staff never intervened or delved deeper to know more or attempt correct a thing. How does that lie constitute for anything more than a brush off or an excuse. I was there and the manager and staff could have responded to address this and make it right. Typical lip service. Its like in the middle of a work week full of Mondays when after a rushed and overwhelming da, its late and you have no time to prepare dinner so you drive through and pick up your family’s dinner order and then drive 20 minutes home and set the table only to discover half your order is wrong and the other half is missing so guess what… your all going to bed hungry. And when you call, the resteraunt manager tells you to drive 20 minutes back at 9:30 PM and return the order with your receipt and they’ll redo it for you. HOW DOES THAT MAKE THINGS RIGHT, MAKE YOU FEEL VALUED OR EVEN MAKE YOU WHOLE!!!
Human error happens and with the right approach are opportunities to interact with your client, make them feel valued and turn them into more loyal customers. So many opportunities missed here and they don’t get it.
Stayed October 2015

This is the second time I have stayed here for business as required by my company. I wasn’t impressed the first time by the upkeep or cleanliness but nothing egregious happened so I returned.
This time, upon checking into my room, the bed was made and everything seemed in order, however, found empty axe bottles in the shower, when I removed them to throw out the shelf was filthy.
I then checked the toilet to find hair and urine stains all over the seat.
They checked me into another room and I found dirt in my refrigerator and cob webs in the side lamps. I wake up every morning with what appear to be new spider bites on my extremities.
If this all wasn’t enough, the daily/​nightly pot for hot water for tea’s water often comes out tainted brown and tasting like leftover coffee in spite of adding two tea bags.
Don’t stay if your company doesn’t require you to.

Very cozy place to stay. The staff is very nice and friendly. The lobby is a comfortable space with a fire place to give it nice touch of home. There is a little patio outside that is very nice to relax during the morning or evening. There is a little fire pit that is on during the late evening, which is very cool and cozy. The only issue I did have was with the pool and jacuzzi but that might be at almost every hotel. While using the jacuzzi, there was visible dirt/​grossness on the foam which was disturbing. Obviously, did not return to the pool area after that. Other than that, a very nice place to stay.

So my First review was removed already. So see all the photos and know that it’s the tip of the iceberg. I more than livid now seeing all the details of events were removed.
I spoke with General Manager on Wednesday and showed him the photos I took and he said he would take issue an rectify them. However as of today there are still several of the issues still present. He even mentioned he had issues in the past with the gal who was sitting in the chair stuffing her face and smoking directly out front. So he know exactly who I was referring to. The fact that several of the issues remain is pitiful and as such I have reduced my review to 1 star.
There are several other Marriott in Maumee and Perrysburg to stay at and I will not be staying here next week because the price isn’t delivering the standards I would expect for $ 160 a night.

It’s a very nice and comfy place to stay. The service is great and homely as well. My favorite place to stay when I am in Maumee for work.

Even though Residence Inns are branded as extended stay hotels, we stayed here for just a night. We didn’t arrive until late (9 o’clock-ish) and were promptly checked-​in by a nice woman at the front desk. The lobby of the hotel is really nice – high ceiling and plenty of space. We got a room on the third floor as requested, but upon entering, the thick smell of smoke hit me in the face. All Marriotts are smoke-​free now, so it was a little bothersome to smell it. A quick trip downstairs and a funny conversation with the woman at the front desk later, we were in a new room which smelled much better.
The room is pretty standard for a Residence Inn – a king bed and a pull-​out sofa. The TV swiveled between the sofa and bed depending on where one was watching it, but the picture on the TV was less than optimal. It stuttered quite often – it would cut to like 10 frames a second (bad) and then back to normal, which was pretty annoying when watching basketball. The bed and pull-​out bed were both comfortable, so no complaints here.
Breakfast was standard – they had a nice array of yogurt, pastries, etc. The parfait I had had raisins in it which was kind of weird, but to each his own. Overall, it’s a nice Residence Inn with good staff and I’d stay again.

Stayed at this hotel during a dance competition and while the hotel was nice, there were misleading statements made by hotel staff. When we checked in I informed them that I knew I would be staying for 3 nights but the 4^th was not a given. I explainged that we had to see if the dances made it to the finals and that it may be late in the afternoon on the 4^th day. The person at the desk assured me it would not be a problem and that they would accomodate our needs. After we found out that we had not made it to the finals, I quickly informed the front desk (1:30 p.m.) and prepared to check out. Now the trouble arrised… the front desk clerk now (a different person) 1^st tried to charge me for a full night, based on a late check out. I informed her of my previous conversation, then she said she would charge a ½ night… I said «No» and explained my previous conversation again. She then said that the best she could do was to charge me $ 30. Frustrated with the lack of listening skills and helpful nature I paid the $ 30 and exited… never to return.
I have been a loyal Marriott customer for years, and rarely run in to this type of service. However, this hotel staff was less than accomodating to assist with previous commitments made by others. Next time I am in the area I will find accomodations elsewhere and will not frequent this hotel again.

I am a loyal Marriott customer. We stayed here after Christmas with our boys, my parents, and my sister with her family. (3 suites)
My parents were given the handicap suite which is much smaller than a regular suite with no oven and no discount. Our suite was fine, but not as clean as the wife would like. (However, she doesn’t travel much and has a touch of OCD when it comes to cleanliness). I would agree with her about the shower not being really clean since there were long, dark hairs in the shower and we all have short light colored hair.
I also was surprised that the bed was a regular spring mattress and not a foam one. It had been a long time since we had slept on a regular mattress and it wasn’t great to sleep on. All my other recent Marriott stays have been on foam, so much so that we got one for home two years ago. Additionally, there was only the pullout bed, which is small for our boys together. After the first night, one got moved down to the Grandparents’ room’s couch. No rollaways available.
The staff at breakfast was friendly all three days. As was the front desk staff, which handled the pool issue promptly (another family with kids who had a «vomit and fecal matter incident» in the pool) and then put up with all of us taking over the tables in the lobby to have pizza. The housekeeping staff was also friendly.
We had other local family coming to the hotel to watch our Christmas. Since one room would not have comfortably held our group of 13, I asked for a conference room. We were able to use one for $ 50 due to my Marriott status. The room was VERY warm due to all the incandescent bulbs, but we were able to cool it down with ac and turning lights off.
I did have issue with smoke smells in the hallway. Our suite and my sister’s were at the end of the hallway on the 4^th floor by the stairs and occasionally the hall would smell like smoke. We assumed it was from the outside and rising up.

Another stop on what to date has been a growing brand loyalty to Residence Inn — at least for this particular trip. Newest décor available. Quiet. Safe. Clean.
The only thing preventing 4 or 5 stars was the so-​so staff. Using the rear door to access the parking lot, we constantly had to wade through a crowd of smoking housekeepers. The breakfast lady seemed grumpy every morning. And upon checking out, after annoyingly tapping on her computer for several minutes the desk clerk claimed she had no way to print a bill showing what they’d charged to our credit card. WTF?

Stayed here overnight while passing through OH. The hotel itself is very nice and the room I had was the size of a small apartment with separate bedroom, dining area, a full kitchen and small living room. The staff was extremely nice and helpful and their laundry room was a blessing after being on the road for a week.
The only negative is my room smelled pretty bad when I first entered it, reminded me of a wet dog. The bathroom also reeked, though everything looked clean. The doors would fall closed no matter what you did, which may have been part of the bathroom odor. I propped the doors open and sprayed some Odium which helped a lot. I’m guessing it was an anomaly with the hotel and would still recommend it for anyone going through the area.

The front desk team and the cleaning crew are on point. They a managers reception during the week from 6 – 730 with drinks and light snacks. That’s a nice bonus after a long day! We have stayed here 3 times now and we will keep coming back.

We stayed in a few hotel in this area when we visited Toledo before. This was an excellent stay. The check in was quick and friendly.
The room was very nice and clean. I did use the work out area a few times. the pool and hot tub are located in a nice bright area and they have an area outside that is nice just to sit around and sip a good Merlot.
All in all the stay was great, breakfast was very good.
The beds were sleep induicve and comfy.
I would stay here again if I ever come to Toledo.

Amazing stay! I’ve never had one bad experience at any Residence Inn. Hotel is super clean and staff is wonderful. The rooms are huge and the beds are so comfortable! Love the pillows! The fitness room and pool were really nice too. The fitness room was bigger than most fitness rooms in other hotels. Highly recommend!

Great stay at a decent rate… yeah, I’m a fan! We stayed in a junior suite for 4 nights and received exceptional service.
Nice complimentary breakfast offered in the AM’s and the housekeeping was phenomenal. The entire staff was very friendly and accommodating. My only complaint would be that they do not offer a outdoor pool, but the weather sucked while we were there so I wasn’t missing much.
Will plan on staying here again next year for the annual handball tournament!

They allow pets, but charge a non-​refundable $ 75 pet fee. My dog is 13lbs and could not do $ 75 worth of damage. disappointing.

Residence Inn is a part of the Marriott group of hotels. They are usually designed for the extended stay customer looking for a place to hang out until their project is over or they find a home as part of a job transfer.
Atmosphere — New, new, new. It is always nice when a hotel is new. This one had a modern layout with modern features to boot.
Room — Free wifi, two, count them, two LCD televisions. One in the bedroom area and one above the fireplace, yes fireplace. Oh, the televisions also came w/​HD channels (a big plus, as a lot of hotels get the TVs but send through the same junk signal). Beds, comfortable w/​nice sheets. Not high-​end hotel nice, but none the less soft to the touch. Other amenities ironing board, iron, soaps and shampoos all top notch. Negative, no lotion which is a must w/​dry winter air.
Service — Friendly, prompt, clean room. They even sent me a thank you card a week after my stay. It was signed w/​real ink too. A nice touch.
Location — Near the highway and plenty of restaurants.
Overall — A great choice at a reasonable price ($ 105 w/​AAA) if you are in the area!
