Great spot to park and enjoy lunch and decompress. Beautiful view of Buzzards Bay.

A wonderful lighthouse with superb lighting. This is in a quiet park area in Mattapoisett and is just enchanting to stop and visit with. You can even see the area where the house once was for those who worked and guarded the house.

At the entrance to Mattapoisett(stop correcting me, IThing – that’s the way it’s spelled) Harbor is Ned’s Pt. Lighthouse which was built in 1838 and still works! What craftsmanship! Surrounded by a small park, there is parking, beaches and a magnificent and unobstructed view of the Elizabeth Islands as well as surrounding Buzzard’s Bay. It’s located at the end of a small street, Ned’s Pt. Rd. that winds through a neighborhood. There are restrooms, picnic tables and a grass area. From the looks of things, it’s not that busy as it’s in an out-of-the-way location. Yet another New England gem!
