History

Established in 1884.

In 1884, Dennis Mahoney purchased a small sawmill from Art Pritchard. From these humble beginnings in Mattapoisett, Massachusetts, grew Mahoney’s Building Supply. Over the next one hundred years, the employees and customers of Mahoney’s Building Supply would weather economic depressions, two world wars, and countless changes in their lives, but would also come to know Mahoney’s as a consistently trustworthy supplier of quality goods.

Changing with the times, Mahoney’s would continue to evolve, at times selling ice and coal as well as building materials and garden supplies.

Today, Mahoney’s Building Supply is a leading provider of building materials and contractor services in the area. Serving customers from Cape Cod and the Islands to Boston, Mahoney’s continues its legacy of exceptional service.
