People are lying on this place. The food is always consistently good and they sometimes give u free items if ur not rude on the phone.

I have been eating here with my family since they have opened at least once to twice a week. Had a very bad experience tonight. They did not care. They treated us like we were strangers. The food was not fresh, bad color and unedible. I will never go back here again and will make sure my family and friends find a new Chinese Restaurant.

The food is always great, but I’m so tired of dealing with the rude woman who answers the phone. Doesn’t take your name or phone number, doesn’t tell you how much the order is, just says«ok» and hangs up. She’s so quick to hang up the phone that I have to call back and give my card number, and then acts irritated that she had to talk to me again. It’s frustrating enough that it has me considering going elsewhere with my business.

Rude staff, placed an order and the lady had an attitude and hang up on me, and it’s not the first time.

The boneless spareribs remain the highlight of this place, and the scallion pancakes aren’t bad. However, overall quality has decreased every time I’ve ordered over the past 2 years honestly. The fried rice is precooked, dry and flavorless. The wonton soup can be likened to warm salty sea water. The quality and care put into the food has cleary been sacrificed for the sake of speed and fast delivery output. Hopefully management corrects or better quality Chinese restaurants, such as Shanghai Bun, will continue to pick up more of the local non-Asian business. Better just sticking to the boneless spareribs for this spot if you’re hungry.

Slightly above average strip mall Chinese food. Shrimp dumplings are their only notable dish. Rude employees with absolutely no respect or loyalty for regular customers.

My go-to Chinese place now. Fast delivery, really good food. I probably order from here on average once a week. Noodle dishes are great, I typically get the Singapore mei fun, sautéed udon, and chow fun. They also have good standard meat and rice dishes as well. Chicken and beef are tender, shrimp is a decent side. Also great fried chicken wings! Good prices, too.

I found my order greasy and lacking flavor. When I called I was met with a response of defense and no acknowledgement. So I give this warning and look for a new place.

Food is pretty consistent and fast, you never have to wait long. However there are plenty of other places like this out there, and my problem is with the staff. They rarely thank you when you buy take out, and recently when I ate their for lunch the waiter game me a huge attitude(even muttered something nasty in Chinese) when I kindly asked him for a can of sprite instead of the bottle he brought me. I almost walked out, but he tried to be nice to me after that incident. Not sure I will be back **i went back and got the same waiter. I dropped one chopstick on the floor and he asked if I wanted another. I said yes, and he started muttering something negative in Chinese with attitude. What an A Hole! Won’t be back for sure

Recently moved to the area and decided to try here instead of the usual Beijing II. I must say that I like this place much better. Keep in mind, it’s a local Chinese takeout spot but it’s not bad. I was very pleased with the quantity of food for the price and the staff was pretty pleasant(not with a smile pleasant but not the usual, hurry up and order tone). The steamed dumplings were good but I wish the bun wasn’t so thick. The filling and the sauce made up for it! Quite the treat! I would give this place 4 stars if the carried the cheesesteak egg roll.

I didnt like this place, the chicken was all dark meat and fried to small hard pieces. They have great prices but i guess you get what you pay for. I rather spend a few extra bucks for white meat and better cooked food.

The place appears to be clean and service is kinda available. From the reviews I guess I was expecting more. I had the Singapore Chow Fun and Hot and Sour soup. Nothing special. I guess it falls in the gray area of not being bad but it wasn’t good either. Everything tasted the same. No life to the food. I tried to get the attention of my waiter to request some pepper sauce but couldn’t. Who knows, maybe it was a bad night in the place. Considering there are several much better Asian restaurants in the area I can’t imagine coming back without a real good reason, like no gas for my car and a broken leg.

I’ve tried 5 or 6 different Chinese restaurants in the Matawan area, and this is the one. Not only is it consistently delicious, but they deliver and are always very, very, polite. **Disclaimer, I like Americanized Chinese food. The steamed vegetable dumplings are perfection. Delicious lo mein, chow fun, sweet and sour everything, chicken and broccoli… next on my list to try is chicken and cashews. Like I said, Americanized Chinese food. :). On thing that I LOVE about them is that it’s not cost prohibitive to order half portions, so you can try multiple things without feeling like you need to order the large ones or are being ripped off.

my go to Chinese spot! Tried a few different places when I first moved to Jersey and this is by far is the best. I LOVE the sesame chicken, crunchy and yummy. The boneless spare ribs, AWESOME. dumplings, YUM. ha. So far everything that i’ve ordered is great. We probably order Chinese food more than we should, but every time we do, we are never disappointed. Delivery is usually quick, and they are always friendly and professional!

Alright, alright, alright. This is a GREAT Chinese restaurant. No joke! We went here twice just to sit down and eat dinner and the first thing you notice is that it is *clean* and it smells *fresh*! There is absolutely no greasy feel to the air or a scent that makes you want to gag. It looks like they actually take care of the restaurant and THAT I really admire! The first time I was there, I ordered a bowl of wonton soup and chicken chow fun. The broth for the wonton soup is fabulous. It’s so flavorful! They give you like four wontons in there, too! I only wish there was a bit more meat in the wonton, but that’s just my opinion! The chicken chow fun(thick wide noodles) are amazing. Amazing. Definitely eat their noodles. I think I’d go for their beef chow fun or the one that has the beef, chicken, and shrimp next time. I tried a bit of the beef chow fun off my mom’s plate and it was… amazing. Second time I went there I ordered another bowl of wonton soup(review stays the same! It was awesome!) and instead of getting noodles, I got the staple general tso’s with white rice. Holy smokes! Amazing! The chicken is so crispy and there isn’t any sort of weird grissly pieces that you would find. The sauce is a perfect combination of sweet and spicy. They give you a giant bowl of white rice to go along with it! The egg rolls are huge and awesome! I feel like they make ‘em there! I honestly can’t wait until I go back. They give you a giant portion of food that is great for the price! Go, go, go!

Except Shanghai Bun, I eat here most of the time(in the last year) especially when I am seeking cheap comfort food. I have not tried their soup noodle dish(because I usually go to Shanghai Bun for that), but hopefully someday. Their lunch special price is the best. I’ve tried a few Chinese places around the area like Beijing II and Ming’s Garden. I definitely like their General Tso’s Chicken, hot and sour soup, and their version of kung pao chicken(diced chicken with peanuts) better than the others. I think I slightly prefer New Beijing in Atlantic Highlands but that is now quite out of the way now. They also have the best sit-down area of all the restaurants mentioned so far. It does appear much cleaner too. I usually just take-out so I’m not familiar what their service is like. It is not the best Chinese food ever, but better than the local average.

It’s the perfect neighborhood Chinese restaurant. The service is friendly and fast and the food is great. It’s a solid choice when you’re in the mood. The Young Chow rice was very good and filled with everything. The lo mein was decent and the chicken and broccoli was a nicely steamed. All of the food was cooked well and reasonably price. What more could you ask for?!?
