History
Established in 1899.
The Massillon Public Library opened in 1899 in a former residence on the corner of North Avenue and 4th Street NE. Since 1937, the Main Library has been located on the corner of Lincoln Way and 2nd Street NE. The current Main Library building consists of the 1830s-era home of Massillon’s founder James Duncan. The rotunda and the west wing were constructed in 1936.
