Island Powersports

I went to buy a bike from this place and they gave me a price out the door. When I went to sign the paper work these people added so much extra onto the bill. They wanted to charge me an extra $ 1500 for a prep fee and destination charge. They also tried to sneak in an extended warranty and tire care that I did not want. The total bill was almost $ 11,000 for a Kawasaki 300. These people are crooks and I would not recommend going to this place for you purchase of any power sports. I wouldn’t even give them the 1 star. I never asked for a helmet with the bike because I have a helmet from my dirt bike so I never asked you guys to throw in a helmet or helmets as you say. I was in the market for a bike but you guys couldn’t come through with it. You guys at island power sports are scam artist. I bought a bike from another dealer the next day so for you to say I didn’t want the bike over a helmet is bullshit.

If you looking for a decent bike with great people to help you out Long Island Power Sport is the way to go I never had been treated so nice and so kind at any bike store but Long Island Power Sport it was willing to work with me and my credit and got me a decent payment thank you guys for my 2016 Kawasaki z800

Not even worth a star that’s for sure! My son is shopping around for a Yamaha FZ-​09, so we go into the location this afternoon. After waiting around for about 15 minutes the salesman at the desk eating his lunch says, can I help you. So my son stated his intentions that he was just shopping around and looking for numbers. Immediately the guy wants him to ride out of the store with the bike today! After telling him we are just looking for numbers and not purchasing right now he gives us the cold shoulder and calls someone over the intercom to come help us. I didn’t catch the guys name that came over (Short, black hair) but OMG, what an «Class A» idiot! He comes over and starts yells at the other employee «WHAT DO YOU NEED!» The gentleman states that we are interested in numbers on the bike. This moron again starts yelling «WELL WHY DON’T YOU GET UP AND HELP THEM!!» I looked at my son and said, «At this point, I would walk out of the store and never come back here! He agreed. So I tell the guy thanks but no thanks. As I am walking out, I tell the one with the mouth problem, «You just lost a sale!» So he then proceeds to YELL at me! Let me tell you something… I’m a 50 year old big guy and really dont take to kindly to people YELLING at me. I told him his customer service sucked and that he should really work on it and that I am surprised they actually let someone like him work here! And guess what he does, he continues to yell. Needless to say, I invited this moron to step outside and have a conversation but I guess he thought a little about that one. BUYER BEWARE! There is a reason why they are not accredited by the BBB and the old name they used to go under had an «F» rating. Stay far FAR away from this place!!!

12÷16÷15 I took my 09 polaris sled to Island Powersports to get an oil change and to have them plug in to the ecu and update the software if it needs updating and look for recalls. When I dropped it off Dave, the service manager, was very nice and wrote me up a quote for 1 hr for the oil change but did not know how much time the computer would take so he didn’t include it on the estimate. I also dropped of my friends skidoo for repair of one of the hand warmers and I gave Dave the OEM parts that we believed would fix the high setting.
On ²⁄₂₂ I get a call from Dave telling me everything is done but they could not hook up to the ecu. Something about «they didn’t realize they didn’t have the program for a Polaris snowmobile.» I became annoyed and told him that he should have known that and told me when I was there to drop them because I would have gone elsewhere.
Later that day I arrived to pick them up and was handed a bill for 1.5 hrs for the oil change. I immediately told the person at the desk (not Dave) that I was quoted 1 hr for an oil change and they could not even do the computer stuff. He said I had to see Dave. I found him out back and showed him my estimate he wrote up and the bill and said I want it to be 1 hr. He agreed to do it and called the man at the counter to change it. I then paid for both invoices for both sleds and took them.
I hr later at my friends house we checked his handgrip and it was still not working on high. I called Dave and he said they checked it and it worked. He then said all I can do is bring it back but I told him both sleds were headed to VT. I said I would get back to him.
A few days went by and I called Dave and was only able to leave messages. He never bothered to call me back.
After speaking to my friend, I agreed to stop by there and ask in person to be credited for the hand grip work as I was in the area shopping for christmas gifts. I went to the counter and Dave appeared annoyed to see me. I asked him why he did not call me back he gave some lame excuse. I told him that I doubted they actually checked their work on the handgrip and at this time the actual tech who supposedly did the work, Rob, was standing there. I told him it was not working and he had the audacity to say it worked and he checked it before it left.
This is when Dave got ugly… he went off on me as it was all my problem. He was very unprofessional and certainly not a good representative of the good brand of Polaris.
The bottom line is:
1. Dave attempted to overcharge for simple work
2. Dave is unaware of the capability or lack of capability his tech has with a Polaris snowmobile
3. Dave became very rude when I called his BS.
4. Tech installed a part as per our request but never checked if the part solved the handgrip problem. When we brought the sled to a skidoo dealer in VT it was determined to be a different part so the parts we supplied Dave and Tech were wrong and it never worked. Tech probably just put it in and never checked and moved on.
My friend recently attended our local Snoseekers club meeting there and actually spoke to the owner directly about this but as expected nothing was done.
This was truly the worst snowmobile service I have ever gotten and I want our local snowmobile club, Unilocal and Polaris to be aware of it. Maybe they are great with bikes and watercraft but snowmobiles… BEWARE!!!

If I could give them zero stars I would, I purchased an atv from them 2 weeks later the bike wouldent start i tried to take it back to them and they said your warentee wont cover the issue so i paid for 2 seperate carb cleans and come to find out they sprayed way to much oil on the air filter when they first put the bike together, while buying th bike the salesmen craig didnt know a thing about the bike his responce to my questions would be «oh im just a salesmen not an atv mecanic «worst dealership ever im telling you !! I used to read all there negative feed back on google and still made the mistake of buying from there i hope you dont!

Amazing place with super friendly, knowledgable and courteous staff! Absolutely ZERO pressure from the sales staff who went above and beyond what I would ever expect when I purchased my motorcycle.

Just purchased my first PWC from Island Powersports and the entire process was seamless and professional. Everything that was promised to me was delivered and on time. Danny D was my salesperson and he was very attentive to all of the requests/​needs. They were flexible with the delivery schedule and delivered the PWC on time. I would definitely recommend Island Powersports for all of your adventure needs.

I bought my 2011 GSXR 750. The dealer Ramone was very helpful. Great guy. After speaking to him on the phone prior to buying the bike he said i would leave a happy customer. He was 100% right. I left the dealership with peace of mind. Overall the staff was very helpful and they made sure i was comfortable with the sale. Other dealerships try to force the sale on you. At Island Powersports i didnt feel rushed or treated as a person only coming to window shop. Great dealership. I highly recommend buying your next new or used bike here.
