Minkowitz Gary DDS

The other reviews here paint a clear picture of what this place is like. My experience with them was absolutely unacceptable. Minkowitz has no professionalism what so ever. They gave me an appointment for cleaning at 7:30 in the morning, i show up at 7:20 to find out they don’t open till 8. Wen i mention this to the receptionist she tells me that she’s sorry that she had to put me in for 7:30 in the system because someone else was in my slot at 8am. Then when i was asking about their $ 50 penalty for lateness, she said ohh don’t worry about it its only if your super late, i asked whats considered super late she said ohh like 10 – 15 minutes late. Then i told her this was unacceptable and im not signing the paper she spoke to minkowitz and came back to tell me that he said its okay i don’t have to sign the paper. I go in for my cleaning and the hygienist tried to give me a lecture about how their policy is important because their time is valuable like im a child and she’s an adult (im 25 years old with a 9 – 5 job and lots of responsibilities). So when i gave her my point of view of how my time is valuable as well and asked who’s gonna compensate me for the hour and forty minutes (because i didn’t get to go in till 8:40) she tell me «what ever, you have you’re point of view and i have mine». At this point minkowitz has yet to have acknowledged me walking by from room seeing me and i have told his receptionist earlier and asked to speak to him. When i finished my cleaning and went to pay at the front, i pay cash for the cleaning and the receptionist brings me my folder and tells me too look at the papers. I see a sticky note from minkowitz reading «no initials, no appointment». Very very rude. I have two more stories of worse treatment to my parents but it would be loger to write, the point is he disrespects his patients, is overpriced, and has «rules» u must follow otherwise u get «punished». I think he’s confused and thinks he’s running a daycare for kids and not a dental office. Stay away from this guy please and save money and your teeth!

I just walked out of this place absolutely livid! Which sucks because some of the staff are brilliant! I got great cleanings here. The male dentist seems nice he had given me some advice about my teeth. But the female Dentist is a hot mess! Her attitude is an absolute disgrace! I was 15 minutes late. My own fault as I had to bring my 2 kids 8 and 6 months. She had a bitch face on her and an attitude to go with it! YOU CANT TREAT ANY CUSTOMERS LIKE THAT! It’s sad when one rotten egg ruins a whole establishment! She’s who I dealt with the very first day I went there and her demeanor was the same! Left me standing at the counter while she stuffed her face with chips! MESS!!! Gary if you know what’s good for your business she should be fired. You need more staff like Enessa! She is so pleasant and professional and further more does an excellent job. Your other female dentist who’s name I don’t even care to know… Is a disgrace! Because of her and her alone. I will never step foot in your dentist office again…

Honestly like the other review here i would give NO STARS. Please stay way from this place asap. A month ago i made an appmt for a cleaning and check up, I had to cancel because my daughter was sick. I had a another appmt and i called at 7:30 the same morning because i have Asthma and could not breathe properly and would be coughing in the persons face. I explained this to whomever picked up the phone at 7:30 in the morning and I’m pretty sure it was Mr. Minkowitz himself. I explained my situation, his answer was then come in later because you already changed your appmt before, i said ok so you want me to cough in the persons face? his reply was thats fine.
I get a call at 10 am, the receptionist tells me my appmt was for 10 why am i not there, i explained it was for 11am. whomever took the appmt took it upon themselves to put me in at 10am. I told her what happened earlier that morning she was EXTREMELY RUDE. Id rather my 5 year old work on my teeth then EVER go to this place.

if i could give no stars i would. i came here to get some cavities filled. As soon as i walked in the office it was very weird. He was the only person there. No receptionist or hygienists were in the office. He took X-​rays of my teeth, told me i had 5 more cavities then what i really had and 3 possible root canals that i would maybe need. But from an X-​ray u can tell weather i need it or not so that was also another red flag for me. So with my insurance i needed an approval. i waited 4 weeks. i finally called the office and left a message and nobody ever got back to me. So when i went to the new dentist (grand smile on grand ave) i found out that the cavities i had needed filled were a lot less then what gary minkowitz said. and i only needed 1 root canal. and they worked on me right away because for fill ins my insurance doesn’t need an approval for that. this place is a scam and tried to make money off of my insurance company by saying i needed to fill some cavities and do 3 root canals when i never needed them. BE CAREFUL WITH THIS GUY.
