Good food. Delivery is a bit slow and sometimes the pizza gets soggy. If they fix the delivery time and quality, then it’s a 5star in my book.

Very good café/pizzeria in the Maspeth area. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and they don’t rush you up out of your seat when you are finished eating. BYOB is a big plus and definitely provides for a cheaper dining experience.

My coworker was retiring at the end of 2015 and we decided to chip in and throw her a surprise luncheon. I had this place bookmarked for quite some time because of the high reviews. So after printing out the menu and seeing what everyone wanted I decided to call in and place the order. When I spoke to(Lauren?) and she gave me the final price it seemed off from what I calculated, so I asked her how much everything was. Turns out the price for a full tray of Lasagna it was $ 120 vs $ 90 on the site. She wasn’t rude BUT she was very firm in saying that would not honor the price. I asked to speak to one of the owners and she said she was one. Once again said she couldn’t do anything after questioning when I looked online. I told her check right now online or I will scan you over the menu. Then she proceeded to say that the person that did the website made prior mistakes. I told her I would have to call her back. After speaking with my other friend planning it I decided to order it anyway despite the price difference. The day came and the 2 ½ trays of chicken parm & francese came along w/the large Lasagna tray around the time promised w/bread, plastic forks & napkins. Totally appreciated that. On to the taste. Both chickens were good… The chicken parm was very thin/small and because of that I guess that’s why it came in a full tray? The francese I really enjoyed and both tasted good. But the Lasagna… GROSS! My fault for not reading at the description well and seeing beschemel sauce was used and on top of that there wasn’t noodles… The top was one layer of pasta. So strange and nobody really liked it! I decided to order it despite the price because I wanted«authentic» over going somewhere else we had in mind but fir the love of God… Stouffers Lasagna taste better! Smh! It killed me to see at the end of our lunch about 70% of it was left over. My mom suggested calling up & saying I wasn’t satisfied but after the earlier incident(which was the fault if the establishment) I didn’t bother to do so. I truly can’t explain the taste, texture or anything about the Lasagna but I don’t recommend it. & neither did my coworkers(some of whom are Italian). Maybe some ppl make it like that? Who knows! But I know that after it not being eaten I was even more pissed about the price not being adjusted as a courtesy. These days it seems like certain places could care less about the customer and doing what’s «right». With that being said, I would still visit again to try something there and get the full experience. For now, this is based solely on the catering experience. I was so upset about that Lasagna… I guess I still am. Huge let down.

So we ordered pizza from this place by checking the stars thought this place is decent but no. Pizza is not spicy at all, and the most important thing is that they sent over cooked pizza or burned we were hungry so had to eat something to fill up our stomach. Guys please check your pizza before sending to your customer. I wouldn’t suggest to anyone this place and don’t fool this star fool you. Oh also the staff didn’t wanna talk to me at all

came to forno last night for a little pre Christmas girls night and we loved it! the service all night was great. the appetizers came out quick and piping hot. we ordered the calamari, so tender, and the pesto pie, delicious! after the waitress gave us excellent dinner recommendations. when the dinners arrived we each thoroughly enjoyed everything! we even had to take leftovers because of the great portion sizes. oh and the best part was we were able to bring our own wine!!! we love forno! cant wait to return!

Try the Di Vitello(veal meatballs in a bed of tomato sauce). This place is small & gets pretty crowded on the weekend.

My co-workers and I have been recently ordering from here for lunch! The food is pretty much good, not amazing but eatable. I have to give a minus of stars for the sole fact that honestly they are very pricey for the amount of food they give you. The salads are about the size of an appetizer and it’s priced starting from $ 9-$ 12. I had the panini from here and all i tasted was the bread— They either have very thick bread or they are very stingy on the toppings they add to it. The only way I could eat it was removing one of the pieces of bread. Otherwise I think this place is pretty ok– There pizza’s are really good!!!

I LOVE this place. It has amazing food and service! The space is great and modern, pizzas are top notch, calamari is great(haven’t tried their pastas or paninis yet, but definitely will soon) but the best part for me is their Strawberry Napoleon dessert — which they said they make in-house!!! To top it all off they are BYOB. AMAZING place!

The service was great and super friendly. The calamari was probably the best I ever had. If you come here, you must try the black linguine. It was the best dish out of everything else we had. Did I mention it was BYOB? If you don’t come with wine, they have someone that delivers wine for you! Would definitely come back again.

First things first– I really do enjoy Forno’s food & the service at the restaurant is always great. However, this time I ordered for delivery and… Let’s just say I’m not pleased. I order my fav– the Verde pizza pie but I’m assuming that before my pie was placed in the box it was given no time to rest. Now I’m basically having some pizza soup as I scoop this cheesy, pesto-y mess, that has slide off the dough and onto the pizza box, into my mouth somehow. PLUS the soda I ordered wasn’t delivered. C’mon Forno– you guys are better than this!

Love this place. It’s right here in the neighborhood so it’s super convenient. I’ve gotten both delivery and take out from them but have never eaten there so I can’t comment on the service at the restaurant. They deliver fairly quickly and are always kind on the phone. I mostly go through grub hub but sometimes call because they have daily specials. Their food is definitely homemade and fresh and while they are pretty pricey, I’m okay with it because of the quality. A few dishes I’ve gotten: Homemade pasta w/bolognese = definitely my favorite and tastes like something my mom used to make. Homemade pasta with vodka sauce and shrimp = delicious Homemade spaghetti with meatballs = delicious I’ve also ordered pizza a couple of times and it was really fresh and yummy. Will definitely keep on coming back here.

Forno Pizzeria E Trattoria is a nice little nook in the middle of nowhere on 69th street in Maspeth. It’s located in the middle of a very residential street. The food here is delicious and has my nod for best Italian food and perhaps even pizza in Queens. Antipasti CALAMARIFRITTI — Fried calamari served with marinara sauce was excellent. Very crispy and it did not taste frozen or rubbery at all. BROCCOLIDIRAPE A SALSICCIA — Broccoli rabe and sausage. This was cooked really well. The broccoli rabe compliments the sausage in a unique way. Generally, sausages are greasy and juicy. The broccoli rabe is almost like a cleanser that wipes that away. Pizza MARGHERITA — Why bother going to Grimaldi’s when you can come here? Excellent margherita pie over here. PROSCIUTTODIPARMA — Really good brick oven style pizza. Crispy crunch thin crust, good amount of cheese, sauce, and prosciutto as well. This pizza is easily my favorite in all of Queens now. It’s not floppy or limp. Pasta LINGUINENEREFRUTTIDIMARE — Black linguine with calamari, shrimp, and scallops in a slightly spicy tomato sauce. The linguine was cooked the perfection. It was not under or overdone. The amount of seafood that topples the dish was very fresh. The sauce wasn’t too spicy which makes this pasta dish even more enjoyable. Main Course POLLOALLAPARMIGIANO — Breaded chicken cutlet that comes with a side of pasta. The chicken cutlet also comes in two sizes, $ 18 for small, $ 25 for large. We ordered large and it came in a pretty big plate. The chicken was pretty good but I did not like how thin it was. It’s a really thin cut of chicken. It looks overwhelming but it’s not, however if it was too big, then there’s the possibility of the chicken being dried out and being bland so I guess the thin cut of chicken works. Verdict — I really can’t complain. The service was fantastic. The chef seems like a really nice dude. I really like it over here. It’s cozy, intimate and there’s BYOB. Good food and BYOB, what better combination is there than that? This is a true gem to the neighborhood of Maspeth. There’s outdoor seating and parking is a breeze. It’s not located in a commercialized part of Maspeth. We absolutely love it here and we’ll be back for more.

Very cute and off the beaten path Italian food/pizzeria. Friendly and very neighborhood-y service and a great outdoor space makes up for the solid brick oven pizza. Would I go back? Sure. But I wouldn’t make a point of it. I’ve been told their Italian food is better than their pizza, so I’ll try that if I’m in the neighborhood again!

First, it’s BYOB. Second, that makes me happy. Fried calamari was excellent and of the 3 pasta dishes ordered the table ordered, one was just better than the next. Service was great and the prices were really reasonable. I would definitely come back and try more. Outdoor seating too!

Really diggin the décor. really feels like your cozy neighborhood Italian place. You know it’s legit when you’re sitting next to a girls night out of Italian moms. I really appreciate warm bread. The broccoli rabe and sausage is ok — tastes homemade, like something I could make. The black linguine with seafood is ok — scallops were small. I highly recommend the fettucine if you like mushrooms — sooooo delicious.

Amazing hidden gem, away from the hustle and bustle of the busy main roads, this place is consistently delicious. We started from the top of the menu, between my boyfriend and I, we ordered every pasta dish they have and time after time we were never disappointed! Pizza DELICIOUS, we have a few we didn’t try, but the ones we did: surprise, they were awesome. I am a spoiled brat when it comes to food and Forno Pizzeria E Tratoria can hold their own and then some, against any fancy top dollar restaurant you can name. The ladies(and gents) that work there are just dolls, beautiful, always smiling, making you feel at home. I love seeing the interaction between patrons and them, it’s like a big gourmet dinner at anybody’s mom’s house! I can’t say enough good things about the food and the service, did I mentioned the BYOB? Well, you can, the focus here is on the food, you deal with your own alcoholic beverage of choice. They do have soft drinks, and the deserts– I’m stuck on Tiramisu and Napoleon– yummy! Here I go again talking about food. Anyway, all I can say is, see for yourself but please don’t overcrowd the place so I can still find a table once a week ;)

This is a fairly new edition to the residential area of 69th st in Maspeth. It’s kinda in a weird location since there really isn’t much going on except for houses. The place is a very cute neighborhood spot. The place isn’t that big but the food is great, the portions are good and the service is friendly. I will definitely be back. The food: Calamari Fritti– Fried calamari served with a spicy marinara sauce. I was kinda surprised how much I liked their calamari. It was perfectly crunchy and tender. The marinara had a really nice flavor and a very small smidge of spiciness. I say this is a must order. Vongolo Ripirne– Baked breaded clams served on a bed of citrus tomato sauce. Well one good app, one bad app. I wasn’t really crazy about the baked clams. It was just breading and a OK sauce. This was just so so for me. Forno– tomato sauce, homemade mozzarella, mushroom, arugula, Gorgonzola and prosciutto. I really enjoyed the Forno pie. The toppings were great, the arugula was a nice touch and you get a subtle hint of the Gorgonzola which was a nice addition, it added a nice nutty note. The dough is thin and crisp and works well with the ingredients. It’s the namesake of the restaurant and a must order. Sopressata– tomato sauce, homemade mozzarella, spicy salami, sliced mushrooms, fresh sliced Roma tomatoes and Parmesan cheese. I thought this pie was good, but not amazing. I felt the roma tomatoes made this pie too watery. It seemed like tomato water with spicy salami on a thin crust. Campagnola– tomato sauce, homemade mozzarella, sausage, onions and peppers– This was a nice pie, sausage onions and peppers is the classic hero but put it on a pizza and it’s still works. I wouldn’t say the pie was terribly exciting but the flavors worked well.
