History

Established in 1980.

Dr. Blake Barnes has been providing exceptional dental care for 30 years! Dr. Barnes graduated with honors from Cornell College in 1976 and earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1980. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Seattle Study Club and is a Past President of the North Iowa District of the Iowa Dental Association.

He is very active in the community and has volunteered for many causes including Francis Lauer, the Donated Dental Services program and the Hawk-​i Healthy & Well Kids in Iowa. He is past president of the Noon Lions Club and the MC Country Club and currently serves as Treasurer and Board of Trustees member at Praise Community Church. He also has served on many boards including the United Way, YMCA, Head Start and Jaycees. He currently is on the governing board of the Cerro Gordo Community Foundation.

Dr. Barnes is a 1980 graduate of the University of Iowa Dental School. After graduation, Dr Barnes started his practice in Mason City. He and his wife, Nancy, have three grown children. Cory is living and working in Minneapolis. Their daughter, Melissa and her husband Matt, live in the Cedar Rapids area and have 3 children, Alexander, Victoria, and Joshua. Eric, currently a senior in dental school at the University of Iowa, will be joining the practice in July 2014. In his leisure time, Blake enjoys running marathons, golf and is an avid Cubs, Bears, and Iowa Hawkeye fan.
