Tried this place for the first time because it’s close to home. First impressions: restaurant was clean, has a sauce section in the front, very organized. They had a fairly extensive menu. I ordered the general tso’s chicken(aka. Hot braised chicken, according to the guy working the front counter) with white rice, my partner ordered schezuan chicken with steamed rice. We each got a pork egg roll and an order of fried dumplings. Pros: –great sauce selection –chicken tasted pretty good. –egg rolls were awesome!!! –they don’t serve food in styrofoam! Cons: –pot stickers taste like they came out of a bag, kind of disappointing . –a little more expensive than other cheap Chinese. –you have to pay for chopsticks!!!(super annoying) Overall thoughts not a bad place for cheap Chinese, but have reasonable standards.

Wow! I am super selective/picky when it comes to Chinese food. Probably the best I’ve had since I’ve moved to STL(from San Francisco where there are a million Chinese food places). The egg drop wonton soup is amazing! I ordered crab Rangoon and is enough to feed an army for $ 5! Great quality and very clean! Will definitely go again! Happy to have found this place. I live in dogtown but will drive 20min

We are weekly regulars here. Best Chinese carry-out restaurant around. Chicken and broccoli, chicken lo mein and the crab rangoon are our staples. All are amazing and always very fresh and hot.

My husband and I really like this restaurant. We order takeout about twice a month for convenience. Staff is always friendly and quick. Quality has been consistent. My husband is picky about his veggies and they’ll do special orders for him. We enjoy and recommend their Singapore Mai Fun, Szechuan Shrimp, Crab Ragoon, and Steamed Dumplings. My husband likes to special order chicken with snow-peas, mushrooms, and broccoli. Did not like the General Tso Chicken. It does have seating available to dine in, however it’s so small and lacking in ambience I’m not sure why you’d want to. Personally, it’s ten minutes from my house and most orders only take ten minutes so it’s easier for us to pick up and take home. Check it out if you live or work in the area.

Singapore Mei Fun. That’s enough information for you if you’re visiting China #1 in Maryland Heights. I’ve had a couple of other dishes here, and they were fine, but for me the main reason to come here is for this dish, which I know as Singapore noodles. It’s kind of a curry-stir-fried-noodles-with everything. Here it’s $ 7.95 and enough for two if you’re not a big eater. I have a couple of complaints. The ambiance is pretty much what you’d expect from the name: crappy American-style Chinese. The staff is a bit of a departure from the norm, though, with a bunch of young guys that looked like they just got out of class at Cal. The menu looks a lot like every other American-style Chinese place. I had a run-of-the-mill lunch special last time and it was fine. I can’t remember what it was. Anyway, if you like Singapore noodles or you haven’t tried them, hit this place up for a carryout, and be ready to share.

I just came from my first visit to this restaurant. I called my order in and it was ready in the ten minutes quoted. However I felt a little out of place there. Granted I have blue and purple hair, I still look very modern and sophisticated. I told them what my order was and while I was paying the young lady asked me if that was my SUV parked in front of the door. In thinking clearly, you can see a black man inside and I’m sure you just saw me get out. She continued to say really. How old is it and how much did you pay for it. The tone was not inquiring yet more speculative about how I could afford a Mercedes GL450. I WASQUITE offended to say the least. However, I was hungry and just ready to go. It’s actually nothing new from people. The crab Rangoon were as described by several others, filling and delicious. The egg rolls were good but the vegetable rice was not what I’m accustomed to. The vegetables were clearly fresh and cooked to perfection but the rice was yellow and had peas and carrots in it. The flavor was extremely bland. If I patronize this location I will only get appetizers.

First time in many years I have had the nastiest food from here. My chicken tastes like garbage. My order was wrong. My crab rangoons tasted old. Good thing I’m moving, won’t be back.

I just ate my left overs and there was a small mosquito/flying bug under the fried portion of my chicken. I saw a small black line when I stuck my fork in so I pulled at it and pulled out a bug wtf! I never leave bad reviews for ANYTHING but this was messed up, what did I do to you China one?!

First time at this place and I would say that food is amazing. Another good thing about it is that you can actually see the people cook your food. Who doesn’t like seeing there food cooked in front of their eyes. Crab ragoon is amazing not to hard not too soft just perfection.

This is my go-to take-out place for weeknight Chinese. Reliably good, fast and reasonably priced. Faves are moo shoo pork, crab rangoon and steamed dumplings. Nothing fancy here, just well prepared food.

My wife and I love this place. It is by far our favorite Chinese take-out. Good food, big portions, very reasonable prices.

I tried this place on the recommendation of a friend and was not disappointed in the least bit. I have tried the General Tso’s chicken and the Honey chicken both of which were extremely good. I love their crab rangoon here. Yes I know that is a weird thing to like the best of a Chinese food establishment however the stuff they have here is extremely good. The people here are very nice and the prices while not as cheap as some of the other places are still very reasonable. Give this place a try you will not be sorry.

Good food. The General Tso’s is great, as is the crab rangoon. Place isn’t much to look at and I don’t advise looking in the kitchen for to long. I have eaten there several times and it is always good.

I live right close by and it took me a while to try this place out because I hadn’t been entirely certain that it was actually in operation. It is small and easy to miss. Since giving it a try«China 1» has been my go to take out Chinese place. I have had both the General Tso’s and the Cashew Chicken and they have been magnificent. They actually have a bit of a different take on both of these dishes and while it wasn’t exactly what I was expecting it was extremely delicious. I am a fan of their egg rolls. My criteria is that they have to be tasty and not disgustingly greasy. They pass my criteria. The Crab Rangoons are pretty standard. I would say the main draw is that they do not skimp on the filling. Be prepared for swollen Rangoons. The service is what I have come to expect out of strip mall Chinese diners. The same three people are always in there running the show. It appears to be a small family. Be warned I think the only one that speaks English is the daughter. I had an awkward attempt at a conversation with the older gentleman my first time in there. Luckily she came in from the back and saved us. I look forward to future visits so that I can try some of their other offerings.
