History
Established in 1980.
Since 1979, Michael Burke has represented people injured by others’ negligence; in 1980 he established a firm with another attorney who has since retired. Larry Schultz joined the firm in 1986 and soon thereafter the firm of Burke & Schultz was formed. The firm focused its practice in the areas of personal injury, wrongful death, trials, appeals, Social Security and workplace injuries. Ron Harman joined Burke & Schultz in 1995, and within a few short years, the firm became known as Burke, Schultz & Harman. Mark Jenkinson, the final member of the firm, joined in 2002. A graduate of West Virginia University (1976, Biology; 1979, Law (J.D.)), Michael Burke has practiced trial law in Martinsburg since 1979, representing people against insurance companies in injury and death claims. Mr. Burke has tried dozens of cases over his career and has represented clients in over 20 cases before the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals which resulted in printed opinions.
