Sawasdee Authentic Thai

Food was very tasty, the service great, and pretty atmosphere I loved the décor. Am gonna bag to go back for sure!

The best phở soup in Augusta hands down! If you like spicy soup defiantly ask for the spice tray I at-​least come to this place once a week and get the same quality each time.

The wife and I decided to try this out.
We walked in and was seated promptly and within a minute or so our drink order was taken. We both went through the menu, which was very diverse even though I wish there were more pictures as I am a visual person.
We both ordered off the lunch menu and picked the Pad Thai (mine was pork and hers was shrimp) along with an appetizer of Satay (pork) Both lunches and appetizer came out quickly and we’re a perfect portion size. I was very pleased with the flavor and promptness of service. The establishment was very inviting and quiet.
We will definitely be visiting this restaurant again and informing others of our pleasure.

I absolutely love this Thai restaurant. I can’t attest to the «authenticity» since I’m not Thai and I’ve never been to Thailand but this restaurant tops my list of favorite places to eat. The «fresh rolls» are delicious enough to forgo the rest of the menu but then I’d miss the drunken noodles!!! The only down side was that I’m in north augusta and they were in Warrenville– but even that 20 minute obstacle has been removed with the newer Augusta location-*insert happy dance here*

I love this place. I am normally here during lunch… They have a great lunch special… $ 7 for a meal and a spring roll. My husband and I got their fried tofu app which comes with a sweet and sour dip topped with peanuts. I LOVE fried tofu… Yummy. I also got Their Thai tea. I normally get a soup or a curry here… I have tried most of their soups and all of them are good. I like the ones with coconut milk the most…
my husband always gets pad Thai… He is not a fan of curries or soup… Because he is INSANE… I haven’t eaten much here that I have not liked.
Try this place if you are feeling like a bit of Thai…

Wasn’t very impressed. Aps were delivered cool, mains were ok but pretty bland.

The owners are courteous and the place was clean. I waited for my take out. I ordered the massamun curry with coconut soup. The portions were huge. Massamun curry tends to be subjective in what potatoes are used, or avocado vs pineapple, so I’ll withhold any specific expectations I had for the dish. The vegetables, which I ordered, no tofu or meat, were well cooked. The sauce was on point. The coconut soup was one of the best I’ve had, abundant in vegetables and mushrooms. They have the Thai food that will satisfy a craving.

This is by far the best Thai place in Augusta! I get the Pad Thai almost every time I go, and it’s literally always mind blowing. They’re also super accommodating about substituting tofu for meat in their dishes, for any of the other vegetarians out there. The fresh spring rolls and fried tofu? Also incredible.
Aside from that I love the restaurant itself (though we usually take it to go). It’s always really clean and pretty, and the service is always fast and helpful. This probably sounds like a fake review at this point but I just really love the place.

Stopped there for lunch and the food was delicious, I will definitely be back with my husband.
It’s a small place but very very clean, looks like you Asian Grandma decorated it but again it was super clean and tidy.
I had the Shrimp Pad Thai for lunch and the menu had lots of yummy sounding options.

This place is the epitome of just ok. Nothing special, nothing great, just a «bare-​minimum effort/​C– grade» kind of establishment. The only reason why I ended up here is because Thai Kitchen was closed on a Tuesday… Sawasdee did the job but next time I’m just going to wait until Wednesday. Here’s why:
1. The food is ok (³⁄₅ stars). Everything seemed mildly flavorful at best, but nothing was all that great (and by that token, nothing was all that awful). I don’t know about «authentic» as their name suggests…
2. Service is also ok (³⁄₅ stars). The older lady seemed to be the only one working and did the job of the hostess/​server/​busser. Considering there were a grand total of 4 other people in the restaurant, this was not as bad as it seems. However, she was not all that friendly and did a barely adequate job of keeping water glasses filled about 50% of the time (the last time she only filled my glass halfway which was really strange).
3. Value (²⁄₅ stars). The dinner portions are on the small side for the prices they are charging (~$ 11 – 14 per dish). However, my biggest personal annoyance was the fact that they only gave you one small ¾ cup of rice for curry dishes that easily require 3 times as much to finish… and then proceed to charge you extra for each bowl of white rice that you request (without telling you about the extra charge of course).
All in all, Sawasdee is not a terribly good value for mediocre food/​service. Next time, just drive the extra 5 minutes down Washington Road to Thai Kitchen for better food at a better price point with MUCH better service.

Excellent place to have lunch or dinner.
we stopped in for lunch a few weeks ago after the snow had mostly thawed. I had a perfect bowl of Tom Yum Kai with a pot of jasmine tea. he had a plate of pad ka-​na. both dishes were the perfect portion and extremely flavorful.
The new location in Martinez is held to the same standard as their original restaurant in Warrenville, SC.
can’t wait to come back for dinner.

While traveling through town I had a craving for some good Thai food and I was not let down! I had the steamed spring rolls and chicken panang curry. So tasty and they will actually make your food «Thai» hot. The restaurant is clean, well lit and the service is very good. A nice relaxing dinner that hit the spot.

Stopped in for lunch after reading about this place, it was great. There were so many lunch options, the décor was nice, and the staff friendly. The food was perfect, and came out quickly.

Superb. Quality food, fresh tasting and cooked perfectly. The menu is larger than many thai places we have been to, with fresh additions to old standards. We will be back for more superior meals and polite, happy servers. A friendly greeting always makes a meal more enjoyable

I stopped in for a quick lunch several weeks ago and this place was very good. The service was a little slow but that is due to the fact that only one server was working. I had the lunch portion of the pad Thai. It was very good. The flavor was spot on and the level of spiciness was perfect. The server was attentive and I asked her to rush my order because I had to be back at work for a meeting and they did just that!
Definitely worth a try!

So for now, I’ll write a tip. I walked in and loved the small quaint décor. Even though I was placing a To-​Go order the hostess/​waitress offered me a seat when she saw that I was pregnant and brought me water while I waited. I really appreciated that small gesture. Can’t wait to try the food.

I went during non-​peak hours and the food was still great. Friendly server, delicious curry. I feel like I wrote this once before but Unilocal says I haven’t. …lies, it’s in the tips. Even added photos :)
Anyway… check them out. Very tasty.

3.5 stars– we tried this place for lunch today and thought the food was good. We tried two different appetizers to start out with, Gyoza and MeeGrob. The Gyoza was perfectly done and the sauce served with it was great. We kind of went on a whim with the MeeGrob and although it was totally different from anything I’ve ever tried, it was actually pretty delicious. I don’t think I would order it again, but am glad I got to try something I’ve never tried before. My husband and I both got the Pad Kha Prow (he got the beef and I got the chicken) since that is usually my go-​to dish at Thai restaurants. While the flavor was good, the portions were pretty small, especially for a big eater like my husband is. I’m assuming that’s for lunch only and am curious as to what their dinner portions are. We did notice the décor on the inside and that really stood out. Maybe I’ll try it again on my own since the prices are pretty good.

Went here on a whim when we suddenly felt like eating Thai food. Despite the simple outside appearance, the inside ambience was surprisingly nice. It has a genuine «asian» feel to it. We ordered Pad Thai, Tom Yong Goong, and the shrimp curry. All of it was pretty good. Not the best I’ve had, but pretty decent considering the circumstances. I was impressed with the service. The waitress was a pleasant old lady who checked on us every few minutes to ensure we didn’t need anything else. She was extremely attentive without being bothersome. Our orders came out literally 6 minutes after we ordered (I timed them). Impressive. But then again, we were pretty much the only other customers in there. Overall I had a great experience, but food was pricey. For 3 dishes, I ended up paying a little over $ 38 w tip. But this is pretty standard pricing for Thai food at any restaurant so I can’t complain.

I’m so happy there’s another Thai restaurant in Augusta and since it’s a new place, I’m hoping they drum up enough business to offer delivery (hint hint).
I like to test out a restaurants menu by ordering the staple dishes first and then going for something new should I return. I placed a takeout order over the phone and the girl that answered the phone was so nice but clearly was still figuring out the menu herself. The menu was not posted online so I just ordered a pad thai extra spicy with a coconut shrimp soup since every Thai restaurant offers them.
«Do you know the item number?»
«Mmmm…no. Your menu isn’t online. I’m just guessing you have this stuff and hoping for the best.»

Baby? I’ve never been called «baby» before and while it didn’t bother me, it did make me giggle a little inside.
I made it to the restaurant in less than 15 minutes and the order was waiting for at the sushi bar. The restaurant itself is small, bright and very clean. I liked seeing the tourism books and pictures devoted to displaying what makes Thailand unique, except the picture of the Japanese temples in the bathroom-I’m guessing that and the sushi bar were left over from the former tenants.
The server herself was prompt, polite and gracious. She made sure to point out the takeout menus and excited to explain she was new to Thai cuisine herself. If I worked at a Thai restaurant and ate Thai food everyday, I would be too. My soup and noodles were packaged in a way that guaranteed there would be no nasty accidents in the car which won big points with me.
I got the food home and just dug right in. The soup was generous for $ 5. There were 5 large shrimps and tomatoes but I was missing mushrooms, cilantro and basil. I took a few sips and could tell something was missing but maybe this is how the chef prepares it here?
The Pad Thai was spot on. There was good veggie to noodle ratio and the spice was hot enough to give me the sniffles but not make me cry. I liked that they didn’t drown it in some red chili sauce and called it a day. It had a heat that crept up on you the way Thai chilies are known to do.
I really wish they’d post a menu online. I asked for a lunch menu as it wasn’t in their takeout menu but there weren’t any available to take home with me and I didn’t have my phone on me so I could take a picture for Unilocal.Despite my average soup, the noodles and service were enough to warrant a return to have the hubby try it for himself. Next time, it’s curry time!
