Laurie helped me buy a house a while back when I thought it was impossible to find something in my price range. She stuck with it and found me a place that I love. She is excellent at what she does and I would highly recommend her to anybody looking to buy or sell.

Thought the entire home-​process Laurie was patient and informative. She knew where to push back when crafting offers for homes. When walking through properties, she helped paint pictures of what could be in the homes and was very supportive through the process from start, through escrow, and with close. She has great contacts that helped throughout the process.

As first time buyers, Laurie not only walked my wife and I through the entire buying process, but took the extra time to explain all of the little details and make sure we were informed the entire time. After recommending a number of inspections (and getting some not-​so-​good news back) she negotiated with the selling agent to get us a better deal than we thought was possible.
She’s always available via phone, text and email and would get back to us within a few hours if she was with other clients. We looked at the house we ended up purchasing on ¹²⁄₄ and closed on 1/​8, so overall the process was super fast and painless and we couldn’t be happier.

I do not know what we would of not done without Laurie. From the moment she looked at our condo and gave advice on how to spruce it up, to her suggestions of staging it, we were able to sell our place. Laurie did an amazing job both helping us sell and purchase our homes in San Ramon. She is very professional, personable and most importantly; someone you can trust will have your best interest in mind. Now fast forward a year later. Interest rates have dropped and we decided to refinance with the bank that holds our current mortgage. We had been locked into to a really nice interest rate, great right! The bank had an appraiser come out and it turned out the appraisal was nowhere near what we needed it to be. We were perplexed and very confused based on where we thought the appraisal should have been.
The entire refi could have completely fallen apart, but it didn’t. I reached out to Laurie (a year after she helped us buy our home) and asked for advice. She felt the appraisal was too low and within the hour returned us with 10+ comps in my neighborhood. I submitted those back to the bank and challenged their initial appraisal. The bank recognized that the appraisal was indeed too low and rightfully made the adjustment.
Happy to report the refi closes today, we’ve locked in a fixed rate for 30 years and we’ll be saving a few hundred dollars every month.
This would not have been possible without the stellar service that Laurie provided. Her actions far exceeded my expectations. I’d highly recommend Laurie if you are looking for a friendly, professional and personalized experience!

I initially found Laurie right here on Unilocal after reading the awesome reviews. Let me tell you, Laurie is the real deal! My husband and I are extremely happy with the assistance we received from Laurie in our first home purchase! We were nervous initially about the process but Laurie was always there to put us at ease and always took the extra time to answer our questions and believe me we had MANY questions. We especially enjoyed that we could quickly text her any questions and she would get right back to us. Laurie even has a great group of people she constantly works with (i.e. mortgage lender, home inspectors, plumbing inspector). All of them were very professional and very friendly!

When my dad died last year, he left a big mess of an estate including a little old house in Martinez that was in very poor repair, which we decided to sell. I contacted Laurie initially to get her advice on whether it would make sense to fix it up or sell as-​is. She was extremely well-​informed about the local market and gave great, detailed advice.
We decided to do some work on the house before selling which ballooned into some major contract work, and she was there every step of the way, advising on everything from what to fix, to paint colors that would appeal to buyers. She had great ideas and was very knowledgeable.
Also, she always returned calls and emails promptly and was often available to stop by the house to take a look. These things are super important.
When it was time to put the house on the market, she was very strategic about marketing it to get us the best price possible. We got a higher price than we were expecting in fact. The buyers were hers as well, and I’m always a little uncomfortable with a dual agent situation, but she managed it very well and even gave us a small discount on her commission.
I’ve worked with other realtors, and I can say that Laurie does a very solid job. She really knows her stuff and was a pleasure to work with.

Definitely recommend Laurie. She helped us find a great house, when the market was really tough and the inventory was low. Can’t tell you how many houses we checked out. She gave us unbiased advice– sometimes pointing out serious negatives that we wouldn’t have seen or thought of. She never pressured us into making a decision. She really fought for us when we were negotiating– she was really no nonsense to the other realtors we dealt with– always trying to get more information and say that this and that needed to be done.

Very disappointed. I wanted to do some advance work for a family member who lives in Concord and is ready to purchase a home. She would not talk to me without my family member being pre-​qualified in spite of assurances (100% truthful) of employment, maturity, good credit history, no debt, and capacity to qualify based on prior purchase history. Turns out I should have ready further in her review history too.

I can’t say enough good things about Laurie. I’m a first time home buyer, found her here on Unilocal,and gave her a call when my then-​real estate agent wasn’t working out so well. Laurie was great right off the bat, willing to have phone conversations instead of meeting, as I live an hour south and have a strange work schedule.
Because I had an extremely odd situation (self employed, picky, and with loan issues due to being self employed), finding a house wasn’t easy. After ten months of looking — and crazy shenanigans on my end («Laurie, what if I just bought some land and put a mobile home on it?» «Well, yeah, we can look for land.»), and writing a few bids only to have them fall through, we found the perfect house. I was practically foaming at the mouth. «I have to have this house!»
Laurie helped me write an offer that, while not the highest they received, was still the one they chose. In part because their realtor knew Laurie as an honest and reputable person! Talking about knowing the right people being important!
There were more shenanigans involving the bank and some repairs, and Laurie stuck with me. She’s fantastic at returning calls and emails right away, and kept me in the loop as to what was happening now. She also didn’t get cranky at my multiple, «Are we there yet?» type questions!
When we finally got to closing, we realized it was going to happen on Good Friday (a half day) and that meant it probably wouldn’t really go through until the next week. I had friends who could help me move Saturday, but not Tuesday (and, let’s face it, I just wanted in my house!). Laurie made phone calls, told me what we needed to do to get it pushed through on Friday, and did the impossible. She got things that are normally done a day apart done on Friday, and I was able to move Saturday!
Laurie was patient, helpful, and a joy to work with the whole time. She never tired of my questions, never made me feel rushed, always knew how to soothe me when I was stressed out about something, and made things happen! She even came when I was signing papers and held my hand, even though she didn’t need to be there. Laurie was fabulous, and I recommend her to anyone looking for an excellent agent!

Laurie was our agent when selling and buying a home in PH. Laurie has a great pulse for the market and knew exactly what we were looking for. She asked all the right questions and made sure she took care of us in every aspect of selling and purchasing a home which can be hard. She made it easier than we could have ever imagined. Laurie negotiated things for us in a very professional manner, always returned calls and emails very quickly, made sure the small things were taken care of, made it a point to be with us during all the important steps and corresponded with other agents, inspectors, loan officers and title to make sure everyone was on the same page and headed in the right direction. I would 100% advise anyone looking to sell/​buy a home to have Laurie as their agent. She will be there for you!

I purchased a home in Martinez in 2011 for my son to live in. Because I live in Southern California and did not know any real estate agents in the Bay Area, I relied on a number of very positive ratings about Ms. Berry on Unilocal and chose her to represent us in the purchase of the property. We arranged to meet Ms. Berry at her office at a specified time. She arrived late and was dressed shabbily.
We found a house that we liked and returned to Ms. Berry’s office to sign a number of documents and prepare an offer. The house was being «flipped» by an investor, who had purchased the foreclosed property at auction. Before preparing the offer, I asked Ms. Berry how much the investor paid for the property and was advised that the investor paid $ 220,000 a few months earlier. Based on Ms. Berry’s recommendation, we submitted a full price offer of $ 265,000 for the house, and our offer was accepted. I later discovered, when I contacted my loan broker for financing, that the investor had actually paid $ 180,000 for the house. Had I known that the investor had paid $ 40,000 less than what Ms. Berry had advised me, my offer would have been for a much lower amount.
The escrow process was very stressful to me because of Ms. Berry’s lateness in scheduling a home inspection, and in ensuring that the seller made the electrical repairs we requested, as the home inspection revealed that there were electrical issues in the house that were unsafe. In fact, Ms. Berry was so late that we never even removed contingencies prior to the close of escrow (the escrow closed on 11÷15÷11, and Ms. Berry had advised me that the electrician completed the repairs on the morning of 11÷15÷11).
When I was reviewing the documents prior to the close of escrow, I noticed in the contract with Ms. Berry a charge of $ 400 for «Docusign» that Ms. Berry did not call to my attention prior to signing the document.
I drove up to Martinez on 11÷16÷11 to take possession of the property and had arranged with Ms. Berry to deliver the keys at a specified time, but when I arrived at the house, I had to wait 45 minutes for Ms. Berry, as she stated that she was with another client at the time. Only when the client suggested to her to deliver the keys to me did she stop by with the keys. Upon entering the garage where the electrical panel is located, I asked Ms. Berry to verify that work had been done, and she confirmed that the work had, in fact, been completed.
I am now in the process of selling the house and I’m using a different real estate agent. The «Docusign» service is free with my new real estate agent, who advised me that I had overpaid for the property. The home inspection on the house that the buyer requested was done on 12÷5÷12, and the inspection identified the same electrical issue that Ms. Berry assured us had been completed.
In light of the above, I would highly recommend that any potential buyer or seller NOT use Ms. Berry to represent them in their transaction. I was so dissatisfied with Ms. Berry that I would give her a 0 star rating if that were possible.

Working with Laurie has been a fantastic experience. I came to her with the double challenge of a super tight budget and being a first time home buyer. She doesn’t discriminate based on what you have to spend. As she told me «she will work as hard as I do» Personally, I think she works even harder!
She has shown me many homes, is patient, informed, and upfront with an opinion when asked. When things come up that are «must sees» she finds a way to fit me in before other offers beat me in. On the other hand, she is good at not pushing too hard when I need to think something over.
She has been a pleasure to work with and an asset on my home search.
