History

Established in 2009.

Dechen~Doris Redi started her career in 1976. She owned and operated 2 salons in the Austin, and Houston, TX areas over the years, as well as 2 Bed and Breakfasts offering Spa services– one on Lake Travis and the other on Galveston Bay.

She moved to the Bay Area in 2004 to help direct a Buddhist non-​profit organization. She became an ordained meditation teached in 2008 and started offering meditation sessions.

Being Truth Spa and Meditation has weekly, evening meditation and inquiry sessions for all those interested in exploring a deeper truth than that which meets the eye.

Being Truth Salon and Spa is the resulting fusion of conscious daily living, along with sheer delight resulting through the act of gentle, and healthy care giving to others as well as the joy of creating visual beauty.

About Doris– Dechen

All services at Being Truth Salon-​Spa are preformed by Doris– Dechen Redi, who has over 30 years of experience in the beauty industry and over 15 years practicing total body care and massage.

The latest in trends and specialty techniques can be yours, as participation in advanced haircutting seminars with masters like Gerards International, Graham Webb, Jingles, Sebastian, and Tony & Guy of London is a must at Being Truth Salon and Spa.

Doris specializes in dimensional and corrective color services, having been a color educator for both Joico and Matrix color lines.

Meditation

Dechen started expressing an interest in spiritual understanding early on, and explored various methods and traditions.

Dechen completed a three-​year Dharma Apprenticeship Program under a Tibetan Lama living in the West. In April 2008 she was ordained to teach meditation, perform ceremonies and offer personal consultations.
