I freakin love this place. Its small but amazing. The cocktails are delicious. These are definitely the kind of establishments I want to see in Martinez. This is the bar side of Barrelista. The front of the house(Barrelsita) is a groovy hippy little coffee shop with awesome, strong coffee and cute acoustic sets on weekends. The back of the house(Barrel Aged) serves up well crafted cocktails and feels like a little speak easy. Both front and back have patio seating. Cocktails run about $ 10. My new favorite hangout. So cute.

Funny how bad customer service can really effect how you feel about a place. It was our first visit to this new location and we are very happy to have it in town. We ordered a Bloody Mary which had a beautiful presentation although there was a unique flavor(perhaps bacon fat?) that made the drink not as good as I wanted it to be. I had a basil strawberry vodka drink that was very good. I ordered the breakfast sandwich which comes from BarrelIista that I realized I’m not too crazy for. Well I politely asked the server(white female with straight brown shoulder length hair and eyeglasses) for a napkin(to eat the sandwich) and she slowly responded yeah as if I was putting her out. When she came back my husband said thank you and she ignored him so I said thank you even louder and she replied yeah as if it killed her. Her demeanor was beyond rude… God forbid I want a napkin with my food and asked politely for it! Too bad the owner has a rude employee that represents his restaurant. With that said, I would come here again and I do appreciate what the bar brings to Martinez.

Arash and his staff are amazing! Living in a small town can be a little boring at times but also cool because you end up running into the same people all the time! It could be good or bad thing LOL but every time I go to barrel aged, it truly feels like my «cheers«, and that’s because that’s the environment Arash created. It’s very important to love the environment and the people of a bar or restaurant you go to, and the cherry on top would be the quality of drinks and food! My favorite are the blood and sand cocktail and remember the man. All the Panini’s are fantastic too! Arash really cares about the type of food he serves and makes sure everything is fresh and organic and best of all local! I can go on and on… Just go and experience this wonderful place in downtown Martinez :-)

I planned to go to the restaurant that once was the week it was closed a couple of years back. Although it’s just the bar aspect now, it has kept me here in Martinez rather than going out to Danville and beyond for a nice, enjoyable drink. The live music they have over in Barrelista sometimes is always a great touch, too. What I like most about this place is it’s usually a wide array of folks having a good time, so that can go either good or bad, but at least it’s not a bunch of yuppies and/or trashy folk. Am a fan, glad to stay local.

Going to be my third time here in 3 weeks– perfectly balanced cocktails with friendly service and great music. What more could you ask for?! Really glad there’s a new place in downtown Martinez that is both hipster and classy. Rock on!

Comfortable space with great cocktails and occasional live music. Great service and never a dull moment due to a great crowd of locals and professionals. In connection to the bar is a coffee shop(Barrelista) where you can get some bites and take two steps back into the bar to enjoy a classic cocktail. One stop shop with comfort and entertainment, the place to be at in downtown Martinez.
