Lammar’s Smokehouse BBQ

The venue is unassuming but the food is really good.
The pulled pork sandwich was on a terrific bun, the pork was moist and tasty and the sauces as sides were very good as was the slaw.
If you want BBQ I cannot think of a better place in a 60 mile radius.
Marshfield is lucky to have Lammar’s.

I have eaten here several times over the last year and a half. I love BBQ and really enjoy the different styles available all across the US. I’m not sure what style of BBQ or BBQ joint this is.
I’ve eaten both the brisket and pork. It would have been nice had they at least visited a smoker before arriving at my plate. The brisket was nothing more than roast beef. And the pork was… just horribly disappointing. The sauces offered to me were little more than spicy ketchup. And not too spicy at that.
They claimed on their Facebook page that «We do not ever hear from people who are unhappy with their visits…» Well, that’s a lie. I’ve told them the food is awful before and have been largely ignored and told to leave. I don’t mind bluntness, but don’t look at a potentially great customer and tell him to get out. And don’t tell the world that you never hear from people who are unhappy. You have.
Also, perhaps they should stick to perfecting the BBQ (MORE than enough work to be done there) and worry less about being able to serve everyone in Marshfield their favorite entrée. Once you see the menu board you’ll understand.
I’ve learned my lesson. Lammar’s «Smokehouse» will never get any better. I won’t go back.
Fortunately there IS a place in Marshfield to get some decent Q. There is a food truck/​trailer just a few blocks up the street. Great people, great food. And a whole lot better attitude.

Good food, friendly service! I love their mustard based BBQ sauce. The piglets are a great snack and the garlic mashed potato is lip smacking, tantalizingly good! Absolutely worth a visit when in Marshfield!

Brisket sandwich was dry, sauces were kinda bleh and the sides were forgettable! Meat had been held already for a couple days and reheated (too often) — -in my opinion a poor example of bbq —the owner was friendly & responsive to my concerns but bbq should be cooked and served reasonably fresh —-no other genre of food gets abused this way!

Don’t let the gas station fool you. Lammars is a great BBQ place. Having visited Marshfield several times in the past year, I always make it a lunch stop at least once every time I drop in.
The pulled pork is my favorite. Being a native Virginian, it’s rare to have authentic Carolina BBQ. The sauces are a nice addition, but don’t use too much as the pork is great on it’s own.
Ribs I hear are also good, and I need to try next time in. The people there are very nice and helpful. It is a secret since it is hidden beside a gas station, but it’s worth the visit

Awwwwful. Ordered the brisket and rib combo. Brisket tasted like chewy roast beef and I’ve seen bigger ribs from a chicken. Had the Big Red sauce which was nothing more than what tasted like ketchup mixed with cheap off the shelf bbq sauce. Garlic mashed potatoes were from a box. For the $ 19 spent I was completely disappointed.

Lammar’s provides one of the things I’ve been looking for since moving to Central WI: good BBQ. On a recent visit, I sampled a brisket and pulled pork combo. Although the pulled pork was good, the brisket was the hero: smoked perfectly and thickly sliced. I didn’t have a chance to try Lammar’s sandwich or pizza offerings — which both look good. Given the choice, I’m going for the brisket every time. Their BBQ sides and homemade sauces were ok – but I’d probably get takeout next time and pair their brisket with my own sides & sauces (BYOS&S). The owners were friendly and worked hard to make everyone happy.

Anyway…now that I am on a review writing spree, I will add in my $.02 on this place.
BRISKET!!! My kids love the pulled pork (and my boyfriend will eat pretty much anything), but I LOVE the brisket sandwiches at Lammar’s.
I think this place is one of Marshfield’s best kept secrets!

I had a rib dinner which was dry rubbed and pretty good. The seasoning was on the lighter side. The slaw was average and the mashed potatoes were pre-​made and probably microwaved, topped with melted butter. Good service (deli type setting) and they offer you an array of their self made sauces (5 or so) available at the table. Good eats in a town that doesn’t have many options.

Great BBQ!!! Brisket and big red sauce, great stuff. Even the sides are very tasty, and the chipotle ranch (or something like that) is very good too. Could use a update interior wise but otherwise a great place.
