Pocono Palace Resort

I planned a special night away for my wife’s birthday and now we are waiting for the last 2.5 hours for our room that’s isn’t ready! For the price you have to pay for this place it isn’t worth your time. The only thing they keep telling us is that it will be soon but that doesn’t give us our room!

What a dump. Room smelled like a wet gym sock. The whole place had an unsettling odor. Sort of like the crazy old lady who rarely bathes but applies excessive amounts of perfume to mask the odor. Lodge a complaint??? If your are tenacious enough you may get to talk to the manager. But she barely looks your way when you speak to her. Luckily we only stayed one night. Kinda testing the waters for a longer visit this summer. Will not return.

DON’T COME HERE. This was the worst hotel/​resort experience I have ever had in my life. The photos advertised are a complete lie. My friends advised me not to go here but I did anyways and I deeply regret it. The place looks like it hasn’t been renovated in 30 years. They fail to show you that the outside of the fairway suites looks like a 30 dollar a night truck-​stop motel. The inside of the room was absolutely disgusting and cheesy. The heart shaped jacuzzi had grime on the jets and I wouldn’t sit in there with a hazmat suit. The tv looked like it was from 1995 and was sitting on top of a TV dinner tray. The room smelled like moth balls and musk. I’ve never had to leave a hotel room within the first 15 minutes of being there but thanks to the Pocono Palace I can now say that I have. Save your money and don’t let this place rob more hardworking people.

I’m sorry but it’s been over 1 week almost 2 that I have been trying to get payment in and even the young lady that was on the phone with me said «I’m so sorry for the inconvenience and we have been losing a lot of business because of this» so outdated and antiquated fit the bill here … P. s I’m not looking for a freebee or anything at all it’s just absurd that in 2016 you can’t update your system a bit better and faster but thank you for your «timely» response

I don’t even know where to begin, this resort is amazing. To keep it short and simple, my boyfriend and I went there for two nights last week, I wish we could have stayed longer! The place was spotless, even their lounge area where the bar was is clean. The staff is kind and helpful, everyone provides world class customer service. We got a groupon for Christmas for the all inclusive stay. We thought we would have decent dinners but we were served steak for dinner two days in a row! All of our meals were cooked to perfection. There were activities going on all day long, never once did my boyfriend and I look at each other and say «well now what do we do» because there was so much to do! We made friends while we were there and got to know some of the staff pretty well. I can’t wait to go back again!

My hubby and i tried twice went to Cove Haven for our honeymoon 2006 the jacuzzi did not work then staff put in the basement room smoke filled and smelled like the swamp outside. Argued with the night staff till 1 in morning on our honeymoon night. Next morning they fixed situation to some extent but left us upset about the whole thing and me and hubby will never forget it. We tried paradise stream 2007 on one year anniversary but had same issues and now you don’t get the breakfast in bed or other amenities they had and food is not what it use to be either. These resorts are going down hill were in 2006 and they needed remodeling then. The price for a night is not worth the expense you can go somewhere else better for same amount. Some better management and marketing would help to.

Know what to expect, the place is old don’t go in thinking everything is going to be brand new and spotless.
I think this place is best for couples who have been together for a while meaning like I wouldn’t roll up to Pocono Palace with a first date or anything like that. Lol
I would give them 5 stars if the prices were about 30−40% lower. It feels as if they’re charging premium prices for a less than premium service.
It’s very obvious they are cutting corners to save money and it greatly affects the guests experience.
For example:
The «Hot Tub» in the main building is the same temperature as the pool.
We were told 2 different stories — Front desk said its a missing part and engineering said they can’t keep it over a certain temperature without having to hire a 24 hour lifeguard. That makes sense but what’s the point of having a «Hot» tub if it’s never hot?
That can be used as an example for pretty much everything else at the place. Nothing really works as it’s supposed to and no one really seems to care to fix that.
Basically… I would give 5 stars if they either lowered the prices for the current service or if they kept the prices the same and maintained the place like everyone wishes they would.
Either way we had fun.

Had champagne suite room was nice but OUTDATED. they need a serious upgrade. for them to charge an arm/​leg & those rooms aren’t more modern is ridiculous. Idk if I’ll return bc its too much money being spent on a mediocre stay. Inn of the dove in Philadelphia is half the price & offers at least free log, champagne, beverages in fridge, free porn, snacks, walkin shower smh this is just a ripoff

We stayed the the Apple Fantasy Suite after buying a groupon and had a blast. The pool and the hot tub were nice and there was a beautiful view from the balcony. No complaints at all. I would definitely go again

Please was ok AFTER I requested a room change. Came back to our room after being out all day to bugs crawling on the ceiling and on our bed. Called the front desk and they sent housekeeping with a spray bottle and a rag to fix the issue. After looking at him and telling him how can he fix the issue with just that, I called the front desk and had them move me to another room. The room the moved me to was decent but I shouldn’t had to request a room change myself if bugs are all over our room.

I just got back from my stay at Pocono Palace. I stayed for 2 nights at the Fantasy Apple suites.
I was not happy at all with my stay and felt extremely dirty the whole time. My room was extremely dirty and filled with ants. I will attach some pictures but there were at least 100 ants mostly right behind (and sometimes on) the bed and around the jacuzzi. The hot tub and pool was also so filthy that it was entirely unusable. You could see specs of dirt in the water and a lot of stuff floating around. The area surrounding the pool and the ladder was also extremely rusted over. Most of the towels in the room were also littered with stains.
Other than the room being extremely dirty, the outdoor pool area also needed a lot of maintenance. The concrete is cracking and breaking so it is extremely uncomfortable and dirty to walk on. Also, one of the main activities we were really looking forward to was water skiing but the boat was broken all of the past 3 days so I couldn’t even do that.
At the end of my stay, I complained to the front desk who quickly dismissed me. Then I immediately wrote an e-​mail to the manager telling them about my stay. Well it has been over a week and a half and the only response I have received is that they have forwarded the email. Not even a small apology.
This leads me to believe that they really don’t care about how disgusting the resort really was. They also have terrible customer service that really doesn’t care about the satisfaction of their clients. If I could rate it no stars I would.
I will not be staying here again.

Where do I start…
My husband and I booked a Friday through Monday stay in a Fairway Suite to celebrate our 14^th wedding anniversary. We have stayed at Paradise Stream and Cove Haven in the past so we knew to expect a trip back in time and some cheesy themed games. We wanted that and think it’s fun so this review isn’t based on that. What we were not expecting were the following:
* Litter… seemingly everywhere and for the entire time we were there. It’s not like it happened one night and just hadn’t yet been cleaned up by morning. It was there when we arrived and days later upon checkout. The nature trail by the lake would be beautiful if it wasn’t littered with garbage. Same with the bushes. Look in them and sure enough you will find garbage. I took pictures.
* Run down room… I don’t mean outdated and well kept. I mean run down with no grout in the shower floor, broken tiles, and dirty stained upholstered chairs. Again, I took pics.
* Poor service… the food was actually good, but the wait staff left much to be desired. In fact, we were completely ignored one day at breakfast. We had to flag down the girl who was making mixed drinks to ask for water because our server, who walked by multiple times, NEVER came to our table. Even after being told that we were awaiting drinks, she continued to ignore us and another table. We saw management speak to her several times and she continued to behave in the same manner.
* Broken or missing advertised equipment…1. No waterskiing or banana-​float ride because the power boat wasn’t even there despite us being told days prior to our stay that it WAS in fact in service. We found out upon arrival that it hasn’t been in service for weeks. I guess lying to get you to keep your reservation is acceptable. 2. They only have TWO bicycles… for 200+ people. So your chances of renting them is slim to none. 3. 1 bow and 3 arrows… that’s it. Again, for use by 200+ guests. 4. No rollerskating. At this very moment this resort advertises rollerskating and yet it is not available. 5. A bunch of inoperable video games lining the walls of the gymnasium. It would be great fun if they were actually functioning, but no such luck. 6. A paddle boat that actually started sinking in the middle of the lake and required guests to call the desk from their cell to get the attention of the attendant to come and rescue them.
* Air conditioning… the main building was always hot. On a 100 degree humid day, it needs to be cooler than 75 inside!
The ONLY saving grace for this place and the reason why I gave it 2 stars was the CXO Rob. He was excellent! Very personable and funny! We really enjoyed the trivia, newlywed/​not-​so-​newlywed game, and bingo that he hosted.
Overall I was extremely disappointed in our stay. For the amount of money spent on a weekend trip, I can’t imagine why this place can’t fix equipment, provide enough for more than one couple to use at a time, CLEAN UP THE GARBAGE on the property, properly maintain the rooms that obviously need attention, and train the staff to pay attention to guests. Everyone that comes here is looking for a romantic getaway, not disappointment and aggravation.

On 6÷15÷15, My wife and I found a decent groupon deal to go on a nice spontaneous get away for the night. We were excited, the pictures looked good, it was the cost of a holiday inn hotel room with the groupon, so we had high hopes.
The negatives:
First, the fairway suites or lakeside chalets look like a cheap motel on the outside — misleading because The inside of the rooms look nice, but outdated.
In the bathroom, the wallpaper by the showers was peeling, and there was mold.
The indoor whirlpool in the main building was nice, but the water was lukewarm, and there was a bunch of like hair masses collected on the top of the whirlpool tile ledges.
Breakfast was good, but not worth $ 15 a piece. It was scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and pastries, which were good… But not any better than those at a free breakfast at a chain hotel. They also had a good yogurt bar, but that and the omlets an pancakes made to order were the only things that made the breakfast better.
When you check in, you are charged an extra 20 some dollars for a resort fee… we paid in cash at check in, and were asked again at check out. They didn’t make
Us pay again, but that should really be documented in their system…
I’m glad we didn’t upgrade for the «all inclusive» pass because it really would not have Been worth it. Basically, your paying for meals. The spa, and the alcohol, are not included.
Both of our room keys stopped working randomly… The front desk asked if we had them near cell phones or credit cards, and we did, and they said they sometimes get messed up from that… I’ve never had thy problem at any other hotel though.
The positives:
The staff was really nice
The night entertainment was good. They had a DJ, Karaōke, and an interactive game all on a Monday night. The beer selection was better than expected, and the bartender was very knowledgable on what they had in bottles and on tap.
The round bed was nice, and so was having a jacuzzi. I’m a big dude, and I felt comfortable.
The gift shop was well stocked with souvenirs, and practical stuff.
They have boating, fishing, tanning, and a lot of other things all on site.
I liked the mimosas at breakfast… They were worth the $ 6 a glass for sure.
The yogurt bar was pretty good– a lot of dried fruit and nuts and fresh fruit.
Conclusion:
Would I come back? …only if I got a really good deal, and if we could have the apple blossom suite.
Would I recommend to a friend? Probably not — it had some positives, but there are better places to go. If we had a better room and maybe more time there, I’m sure it would be better.

What a place. My wife and I have been going here for a long time. they have a ton of activities. I have engaged in some of them. Speaking of engagements this is where I asked my wife to marry me. We just stayed again this week and I am already thinking about when I am coming back. If you stay enough times you become a forever lover and they upgrade your room as long as they can. I was upgraded as soon as I got there. Rooms have always been clean and everything always work. This time I was in a Roman rower. It’s the best room they have and it does not disappointed. There are a lot of reviews with all that they have here so I won’t waste time. Just know that if you need time alone with your mate this is the place. Time seems to stand still here.

We came home from our stay at the resort yesterday and with rather high expectations because of wonderful time we had at their other resort in February. For the life of me I can’t find a single flaw. We stayed in the champagne tower room and it was breathtaking. Everything there puts you in the mind and mood for connecting/​romancing your loved one. I may be a little starry eyed for this place but my husband and I are absolute fans and so happy we’ve found our «lover’s retreat.»

I went here for four days and they were the most FUN and relaxing four days in a long time. My hubby and I splurged and stayed at the Champagne Towers. When you check out the photos online it doesn’t do it justice.
Upon walking in, you step into the living room which has a comfy couch, fireplace, and flat screen TV. Up the stairs is to the right is the heart shaped heated pool. The temp is set from 90 – 95 degrees. Its a great pool for two people. Inside the pool area, there’s large mirrors covering one whole side of the wall, so you can see yourself in action. Its really nice!
By the pool there’s a small staircase. As soon as you walk down there’s a massage chair and just a bit further the sauna, which I didn’t care to use. Leaving the pool area, and going up the stairs to the left the bathroom and to the right bedroom. Where to start?
Let’s hit the bedroom. In the bedroom is a closet, hangers, an iron, ironing board, flat screen with cable, desk with a coffee maker, two chairs, the bed. The bed is King size. so its nice and large and round! There’s mirrors everywhere!!! Its so sexy! Where the headboard would be, its covered in mirrors. When you lay down, the ceiling lights are on mirrors and are artistically made to look like stars. This really sets the mood. Who ever thought of this is absolutely genius! You can dim them or brighten them. If you need extra lighting there’s a two lamps in the room.
Now to the bathroom. There was two sinks which I wanted to be the his and hers lol but hubby had to use both, a mini fridge, a stand up shower with two seats in it. Perfect for sitting and letting the water run on you. The toilet was in the bathroom through a separate set of doors. Nice and private and it had background noise so no one can hear you doing your business. Next to that door is the champagne cup!
The champagne cup was everything! It was perfect and fun and sexy. Around the cup was surrounded by mirrors! More action to watch! Lol. I suggest you go to the gift shop and pay $ 5 for a big bottle of bubbles. Bring your own candles too because those are pricey. For the champagne cup hot tub, you can set your own temperature which is great BC I hate boiling hot water. I don’t like cooking myself. Anyway, we put the bubble liquid in and let the tub do it’s magic. Lots and lots of bubbles just how I like it!
Everything was perfect. Rooms clean. Happy hour treated us well. It was $ 2 off everything. Drinks were cheap and tasty!
Included with our room, miniature golf, archery, pool tables, indoor pool and hot tub in the main area, tanning beds, basketball court, skiing, and snow mobiling. Also, trivia throughout the day, bingo for cash, contests, and nightly entertainment.
I have not one complaint. I loved it here, I even extended my stay by one night. We will miss you and return!

After 7 years, my husband and I finally had a weekend away from our 4 children and we decided to stay at the Pocono Palace Resort because it seemed romantic, no kids allowed, and everything was included. I now wish we would have gone elsewhere. We arrived and were greeted by a friendly staff member at check in who gave us a coupon for 2 meals & soft drinks since we had missed the included dinner. We then went to our room, Lakeside Chalet, and found a seemingly clean room. It was old and cheesy, but comfortable. We closed our blinds and 1 came flying off. We headed to the café to have a late snack with our coupons. The wraps we ordered were unappetizing to say the least, I couldn’t even finish mine. After sleeping in a bed which was tilted to the left (I felt like I was sliding into my husband all night), I went in to take a shower when I noticed the bathroom was full of mold. The wall paper was peeling off and the mold was all over the walls and ceiling. It was disgusting. We finished getting ready and went to the lobby to express our concerns over the mold. Apparently the cleaning crew knew about it but had failed to let the front desk know. Lisa helped us and immediately offered to upgrade us to an apple suite. She took my cell # to call when our new room was available. We never received the call, so approximately 2 hrs later we stopped at the front desk to get directions to the stables as well as ask about our room. Lisa apologized and said the room had been available for over an hour but they (the cleaning crew) had failed to contact her. So we got our new key and went to our new room to drop off our bags. Outside of the door to our new room there were used wine glasses as well as a dirty towel. We walked in and immediately noticed the room hadn’t been cleaned properly. There was dirt and salt (from the snow outside) on the rug, candle wax all over the tub, table, and bathroom sink, cigarette butts and a candy wrapper in the sauna (the room is supposed to be non smoking), toothpaste and hairs on the bathroom sink, and remains of mold in the bathroom. We were repulsed and my husband phoned the front desk to tell them what was going on. The woman he spoke with told him she would speak with housekeeping. My husband decided to go to the front desk in person and Lisa helped him again telling him we would be refunded for 1 night of our 2-​night stay. She also said for us to go out as we had planned and she would have housekeeping clean the room and she herself would inspect it. When we returned 4 hours later the room was still not cleaned except the candy wrapper was missing. The glasses remained outside and now there was a bag full of dirty towels in front of our room. My husband was furious. He went to the front desk and politely spoke with Nick (Lisa was no longer there) who returned to our room with my husband and the housekeeping «manager.» Nick noticed all of the problems and said the cigarettes were disgusting, even shook his head a the dirty glasses outside. He said that while my husband and I were out to dinner the room would be cleaned properly. So we went on our way and when we returned the room was finally cleaned. We also are breakfast at the resort (included with our stay), and it was OK. We decided not to stay for dinner because we were afraid we wouldn’t enjoy it. We took advantage of the snowmobiling, which was fun, but more than ½ of the snowmobiles were broken so only 3 could go out at one time.
This resort needs tons of work. It is very outdated and run down. The staff is friendly, but we would never stay again. There are much nicer hotels/​resorts in the same area for the same price.

My boyfriend and I stayed here from 12÷25÷2014−12÷27÷2014 to celebrate our seven year anniversary. Overall, we had a good time and we would like to try Cove Haven next. This would have been a 4 star review, but on our last night, the hotel overcharged us by $ 400.
**Fairway Suite**
We arrived on Christmas night and stayed in the Fairway Suite. We were able to check in quickly. The suite was comparable to a hotel room. It was pink with a round bed and a heart shaped jacuzzi. The suite definitely had a retro vibe and I noticed the furnishings were a bit worn. We also had to call the front desk because we didn’t have any towels. Later, my boyfriend used the jacuzzi. It was a little noisy, but he seemed to enjoy it. After the jacuzzi drained, we noticed there was some dirt on the bottom and around the sides of the jacuzzi. In addition, while I was watching some TV at night, a moth flew out of one of the drawers and gave me a fright :(I told my boyfriend to open the door to let the moth outside but it disappeared.
**Fantasy Apple Suite**
The next day, my boyfriend and I checked out of the Fairway Suite and into the Fantasy Apple Suite. So much BLUE! I would definitely recommend the Fantasy Apple Suite over the Fairway Suite because it provided way more accommodations than a hotel room. There were three stories. The first level had a lounge area with a TV and fire place. The second level had a round bed, TV, heart shaped jacuzzi, and a deck which provided a view of the lake. The third level had a small round pool, small sauna room, bathroom, and shower. Again, I noticed the furnishings were worn, but the three floors seemed clean. On the plus side, the bed was comfortable.
**Resort Activities**
My boyfriend and I participated in the resort’s activities on December 26^th and 27^th. Due to the unseasonably warm weather, there was no ice skating or snowmobiling. We were disappointed, but it wasn’t the resort’s fault. We had the option to travel to Cove Haven to use their indoor ice skating rink. It was a 45 minute to 1 hour drive away. Instead, we went to the arcade area and played a few games of skee ball. It was $ 1 per a game. We also played some ping pong and shuffle board. These games were free. There were plenty of billiard tables available as well. In addition, we went to play archery outside. There were four sets of bows available and patrons can rent out a set and return them an hour later. We waited a little bit before one of the sets was returned. I had a ton of fun at the archery range. It was my first time and I wasn’t very good, but my boyfriend and I had some good laughs. This was an opportunity to chat with other couples who were coincidentally also from Queens!
I would recommend coming to the resort in the summer time in order to enjoy swimming and boating activities or in the winter time (when it is cold enough for snow) to partake in the ice skating and snowmobiling.
Additionally, the resort had a scavenger hunt and some family feud/​bingo/​newly wed not so newly wed games going on, but we did not participate.
**Gift Shop**
The resort’s gift shop had an array of items, including merchandise with its logo. I noticed the shop carried a lot of personalized items. My boyfriend got me a «Megan Raptor» dinosaur bank. He also got me a peanut dressed like a lawyer because «lawyers never lose their appeal.»
**Food and Drinks**
My boyfriend had purchased the all-​inclusive option for breakfast and dinner. Since we checked in early on the second day, we were able to enjoy breakfast. It was served buffet style from 8:30AM-11:00AM. There were many options available including scrambled eggs, pancakes, toast, fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, grits, turkey/​pork sausage, and bacon. Beverages included coffee and juice. On the second day, we also ate a buffet style dinner. There was a salad bar, steamed vegetables, variety of pasta, chicken dish, pork dish, fried shrimp, and a station where one of the resort’s employees served sliced roast beef and turkey. The food was pretty good. I think the desserts were even better! I had some red velvet cake pops, a sugar cookie, and some strawberries. My boyfriend had a slice of carrot cake and a slice of German chocolate cake.
Alcoholic drinks are not included. My boyfriend had a local beer and I had a peach sangria (it was great, I definitely recommend the sangria). It was $ 15 for both.
Bring some bottled water!
**Entertainment**
We went to the night club area to see three comedy acts. We sat in the front row. Before the show started, the DJ requested some guys to nominate their significant others for an activity. Somehow my boyfriend nominated me :(and I reluctantly participated. It was a hula hoop contest and I ended up winning. I received a free t-​shirt :). The DJ then had our male counterparts hula hoop. My stomach hurt from laughing after watching my boyfriend. The comedy acts were great. They revolved around relationships.

More like 3.5. Boyfriend and I went here recently for the weekend and while I agree with many of the other reviewes that the place could use a renovation, I think part of the charm or character is that you feel like you’re transported to another decade. This could be good or bad depending on your expectations.
It’s obvious that this place was a hotspot for newlyweds in the 70’s and 80’s and probably at the time this was considered modern. Fast forward to the 00’s and not so much on the décor beign modern anymore, more on the cheesy side. The outside of the rooms are unassuming and you wouldn’t think much looking at the property.
However, once you get in the rooms (we stayed at the Fantasy Apples suites) there’s a fire place, mini-​fridge, heart shaped jacuzzi, indoor pool, outdoor deck overlooking the lake, circle bed throughout three levels. The shower and toilet are on the bottom floor while the bedroom is on the 2^nd (middle floor) so if you need to pee in the middle of the night be prepared to take some stairs.
The sofa in the room was fairly disgusting as there were stains (one can only imagine what type) all over it. We didn’t go near it. The deck was amazing and so was the view of the lake. This was my personal favorite part of the room. The boyfriend enjoyed the indoor pool, but I felt like the room was suffocatingly hot and couldn’t stay in there more than 5 – 10 minutes.
This is where I think the place does a good job — the amenities! It is a resort afterall and there are a ton of activities. This worked out well for us since we didn’t plan activities for our trip (such as ziplining or segueway tours — which had sold out fairly quickly in the surrounding areas). At the resort, they have roller skating, comedy shows, trivia, bingo, golf, archery, basketball, shuffleboard, indoor and outdoor pools/​saunas, cycling, paddle-​boating, jet-skiing…and I’m sure other activities that I’m forgetting.
The staff was very friendly and overall we had a positive experience but I think we were prepared as to what we were going to get and the condition of the property. An annoying thing was the my room key was getting de-​activated on a daily basis. The front staff asked if I had it near my cell phone but I didn’t have my phone in the purse which carried the hotel key so I had no idea what was going on. Other than that, our stay was enjoyable.
Side note, we didn’t sign up for the «all-​inclusive» meals and I think this worked out best as we went off the resort to get food. Also the prices for snacks were a bit ridiculous — $ 2.00 for small bag of chips and $ 2.00 for small bottled water. We picked up a case of bottled water at a local Rite Aid for $ 2.33.

Love this place. Booked it for my 5^th anniversary and was very pleased. Gail at the front desk was very nice and even got engineering (thank you jerry from engineering) to help give me a jump on my bike when I let the battery die by accident. The food was great. I loved how on certain days they have plated meals and other days its a great selection at the buffet. Gina, Beth and Daniel should all get credit for their work ethic. They all greeted us and made sure that we were well taken care of.
Staff is courteous and makes sure you have everything you need. The room was clean (despite what some reviews say) and I was more than pleased with all the stuff we had in the room. I only wish I could have stayed more than two nights because I really liked the bed. Fireplace was a plus. The champagne Jacuzzi was awesome. Make sure you get some «honey and milk» bubbles from the gift shop ($ 4) to make it extra bubbly. Love the activities here. They had a memorial day BBQ bash by the pool and the food was great. DJ was playing some great tunes and it was a great time all around, I cant say enough about this place. I wish I could have stayed a week.
