I am going to this McDonald’s for 10 years on my commute back-and-forth from West Virginia. I have always found the staff to be friendly and the service to be quick. This review as nothing to do with that it has to actually do with the food. Today I stopped and got a happy meal and while eating the hamburger bit into a piece of blue plastic that was obviously in the hamburger not added to the hamburger. I was completely grossed out photographed it and called the restaurant to alert them. The manager said to me and I quote I’m so sorry I will look into it” my thought was seriously? That is the reason for this review be very careful about eating at McDonald’s

This McDonald’s is attached to a BP gas station and a Wi-Not Stop convenience store in the sleepy town of Marshall, VA. I always feel like the name«Wi-Not Stop» invites the question. Let me itemize some of the reasons that you might want to stop somewhere else. The traffic pattern is terrible, because you’re combining all the insanity of a gas station with all the insanity of a McDonald’s drive-thru in a very poorly-designed parking lot. First, we had trouble getting into the lot because people were blocking the entrance while waiting for their food. Then, afterwards, we had trouble getting out because people in the drive-thru were blocking us in our parking spot! Truly, we couldn’t win. The crazy traffic also makes it dangerous to be a pedestrian crossing from parking to the building. The bathrooms were not very clean during our visit. The women’s room had a bit of a funk when I entered, but the smell entered«pit toilet» territory when I closed the stall and sat down. The floor was filthy and there was a huge uncovered trash can just inches from where I was sitting. I did enjoy the Jesus-themed graffiti in my stall. Was Jesus really in there at some point? I didn’t stick around to see if he returned. The McDonald’s itself was just a McDonald’s, but one with a fairly limited menu. Service was brisk but pleasant. My double cheeseburger was good, but my hashbrown was weirdly under-browned. There was something weird going on with their shake dispenser that involved a lot of wadded-up napkins and messiness, so I passed on a shake(which was hard, because eggnog is my favorite). So… «Wi-Not Stop»? I think I’ll try a different exit from 66 next time.

They mess up my order every time. Probably one of the worst McDonald’s I’ve ever been to.

This McDs is attached to the BP gas station right on Route 17 off Route 66 in Marshall. The location is a standard McDs, drive-thru and eat-in options. It’s the only real fast food place in Marshall(or anywhere off 66 if you’re heading towards I-81 until you hit Exit 6). They have fast service and I’ve never had a bad experience there.

I stopped in here for a quick lunch one day before hitting a couple of wineries — doing a wine tasting on an empty stomach is not a great experience! This McDonald’s is physically attached to a BP Gas Station — you can walk back and forth between the two. The place was really hopping on a Sunday afternoon — I had to wait a bit to place my order as the line was pretty long. I ordered a Filet O’ Fish sandwich — which was made to order and came out piping hot and the cheese was melted accordingly, and had just the right amount of Tartar sauce. I got it to go. The sandwich was perfect as far as how a Filet O’ Fish sandwich should be. So why only two stars? I’d have given them four stars — except for three things dragged the rating down: (1) This McDonald’s shares a restroom with the BP — and the restroom was filthy and in major need of both cleaning and a retrofit; (2) When I got close to the counter to order, one of the order takers, a young lady just stood there at her register and made no indication to the customers that she was available to take orders. The young man at the register next to her was cranking through customer after customer — someone finally asked if she was available to take orders and she said«yes.» Really? You just stood there that whole time when you could have been taking orders and getting people going? (3) When I got up to her to place my order — she was wearing a very dirty and stained shirt. The manager should have their customer facing employees be more presentable than that!

Only McDonalds around. Shares lot with a gas station making it easy to get gasoline and then go through the drive thu for a quick snack.
