Not that any McDonald’s is really a four-star restaurant, but this one in particular is the best I’ve ever seen, thus the high marks. The guy at the counter was congenial, the food was ready quickly, it was as good as I’ve ever had at any McDonald’s. The fries were all crispy instead of having soggy ones here and there. Being in a small town, it seemed like this place was a bit of a community center. They had a bulletin board with an advertisement on it, urging you to boost up Searcy County by eating local. There were four or five people in the next booth over us who were trying to help one of the other patrons get his truck running. I don’t know how long they’d been there or if they were just passing through Marshall, but really, everyone was so nice… It made me big on Searcy County, and I’m a city slicker!
