History

Established in 2012.

Barataria Bait and Tackle was established in July 2012. It was formerly know as Costal Tackle which as established right after Hurricane Katrina in 2006.

As a young boy in high school, I managed the tackle store (formerly Coastal Tackle) for three years. I have always been an avid fisherman, fishing media tournaments and local tournaments. After I graduated from Shaw High School, I knew that my life would revolve around the fishing industry. I applied for my Captain’s License to become a Charter Fisherman. During this time, the former owners decided to sell the tackle store and asked if I would like to buy it. Of course, I said yes. I now own the store and guide fish for a living. I love working with customers, both in the store and on the water, and take great pride in building my businesses. I have many local fisherman as well as guide fishermen that come into the store who love to swap stories and we love to help them out with fishing hot spots and hot baits.
