Shop Rite of Marlton

Employee training is not a priority at this location. The Deli is horrendous for customer service. There a at least 4 folks or more behind the counter «all with there heads down» so not to make eye contact. They move at a turtles pace. They chat with each other as though there is nothing to do. IF A MANAGER walks by he DOES take notice and jumps in to help but as soon as he walks away… back to the same behavior. Roast chicken you can get at 10am try to pick one up between 5 and 6 (nada). Try asking the meat department a question around 5 (ooops time to go home). Self check out — I had a question about a coupon and tried to ask the person overseeing this area — I tried getting her attention (black woman on Fri. at 10AM) I finally walked over to her and ask for her assistance. She walked back with me, looked at the screen and in a curt way said“it says, pay. Did you make a selection”? I said no as that was not my question. Here is the customer service when you are made to feel like your question is an imposition? The Shop Rite in West Berlin is a perfect example of how to manage a well run store. Marlton is closer to me unfortunately but driving the extra miles can be SO WORTH IT!!! If the company does not hire and train the right employees then you get what you pay for. I do have one exception to all my negative commentary — produce is handled very well.

The staff is very friendly, which is the only reason it gets 2 stars. I have never had so many issues with produce. I can get better quality at produce junctuon, which should be embarrassing. I recently just purchased a few things there out of concenience. I purchased shallots that were completely bad, everyone of them. Blackberries for daughter that looked good, but the bottom were all bad. In the past, fruit has been completely flavorless. I also hate that the organic section is completely separate from the rest of the store. For example, organic yogurt is only in the organic section not with the rest of the yogurt. Such a pain! Also, whole foods has much better prices on almost all of my organic staples. I do not recommend this store. I do love the shop from home for convenience however.

Worst grocery store ever. Zero customer service, long lines, dirty crowded isles. Have no idea if their selection is good because it is almost impossible to navigate through the crowds, stocking carts etc. The managers here should take a trip down south and visit a Publix or Ingles. Like going to a spa after going to this place. Just for reference, I was there around 8:00 P.M. on a Thursday night. It was like they were giving food away. I’ll spend the extra money and go to Whole Foods, Rastelli’s or even fight the crowds at Wegmans. Never again to this place.

The layout of this site makes my brain cry. I cannot stand the setup even though they have what I like the layout just doesn’t make sense! And it’s crowded ALL THE TIME.

I was not looking forward to my chore tonight of grocery shopping for my 21 person family Christmas dinner menu. Was tired and dreading the job. Went to Wegmans last year and it took over 2+ hours to get out of there so that was my expectation for tonight. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised.
Found everything I needed on my list, had to ask a few people for help in finding a couple of items, but got immediate, correct answers,! and then the nicest, speediest cashier at the end. Out in no time and at half the price from last yr. Although i don‘t want to attract a crowd at my home town grocery store, i felt the need to give some kudos. Thanks Shoprite, for the pleasant experience.

I think this Shop RIte is the best in the area. I’ve used this Shop Rite since my husband and I moved to the area 9 years ago. They are clean and the product selection is decent. I’m disappointed that they have stopped giving credit for reusable bags. They offered $ 0.05 per bag, so it is not that much, but it was an incentive for me to keep my bags in my car and use them. There are some staff members that go above and beyond to make you happy. The cakes are delicious and I have to recommend the gourmet club pack cookies. My husband and I just found them and they have been a nice treat for the past few weeks. Salted Carmel Chocolate — Yum! Overall, its a good place to shop and the food quality is great.

This is my go-​to ShopRite in the area. Everything is laid out perfectly, aisles are wide enough, the produce is usually pretty good. However, at times I can find better looking produce at Whole Foods.
I can’t give it a 4 because there are things that I need that they never have when I actually need it (hit or miss) — certain types of fish filets, duck (seems to appear only at Holidays), ground pork and ground veal.
Again, what I can’t get here I run over to the Marlton Wholefoods to finish my shopping.
Wegmans is a good alternative to a one-​stop shopping usually. Why can’t ShopRite work on that?
This location has the Shop from Home option. I have never tried that option so I cannot say how that service is here.
Don’t bother shopping here on a Sat or Sun afternoon. You will add another 30mins onto your time to shop just to get in and out. Also there is a super Wawa opening across the street so soon traffic will be more hectic in this intersection. Still the better ShopRite in the area…

What can I say about this place? Best cuts of meat in town, never out of items, customer service is A+. I have been going here for a long time and they always go above and beyond my expectations.

Other than the prepares foods always looking so tired from being under the heat lamps so long that even a school cafeteria worker would not serve it: the produce being at the end of their shelf life: employees not likely to vote the store one of the best places to work in NJ; deli and checkout lines that are so slow as to defy modern physics; and a parking lot that appears in my auto insurance policy as reason to cancel my policy… it is a lovely place to shop.

Ok, there are some things that aren’t good. The parking lot is always packed, and the store is often very crowded. The reason, though, is that this store has the best selection! Not only that, but the employees are so nice!!! Customer Service is always helpful, and prompt. My favorite cashiers are Jane, Jean, and Sara. They are so kind and helpful. The health food section is awesome too! All kinds of gluten free items. Never had a problem with food freshness, or finding what I’m looking for.

Weve been going to this shop rite even before there was a blockbuster. There was a spaghetti house and a Chinese buffet… We’ve always liked this grocery store. I think it’s pretty nice. Get the groceries I need, people are friendly, prices not too crazy. Also they have a very nice, affordable home delivery program that my mother, who is disabled, uses.

Pretty decent for a supermarket especially a Shoprite.
Sushi? Check. Chinese food? Check. Salad bar? Check. If you’re looking for prepared foods, Shoprite actually has a pretty good selection.
Organic food? Shoprite does have a whole section. Obviously, not as large as Whole Foods but definitely covers your basics.
Of course, the normal cons apply to this supermarket. Always packed. Parking is a mess.

Every time I’ve gotten milk here it’s been sour.
Always busy.
Impossible to walk around.
Incredibly RUDE dairy worker. I ask a question and he rolled his eyes at me.

Downgraded to one star.
They stopped carrying almost all cold medicine.
When I didn’t see it in the normal spot I went to the courtesy counter hoping for some guidance. I waited for at least 5 minutes while the one person behind the counter helped another employee with something.
I wont be back.

Nothing too crazy, but typically pretty fast checkout lines, they offer some things that the other local Shop Rites don’t, the bathrooms are open, and they have a Wine Works right next door so you can cross multiple things off of your list at once.
