Shine Salon

I’ve never actually made writing a Unilocal review a priority, but after my first time at Shine, I had to run home and sing Jennifer’s praises. She is amazing. Hysterically funny and she KNOWS HAIR. My last cut [at another salon] wasn’t quite right. Jennifer took one look, knew exactly how to do what I described, and made me laugh the entire time. The salon is really sweet and has a great, laid-​back vibe. I kind of can’t wait to go back!

A God Gifted creative, Jennifer the salon owner of SHINE on Union St. has been the only person who has got my color and hair looking outstanding. I have been to colorists in NYC, DC, Boston, all over; and spending a lot of money always leaving with hair that even friends would ask «where did you get that done»? Ugh! Even better knowing they pillaged your purse to look like a circus clown… It’s women like her, that instinctively know what to do and make it fantabulous! The best part about it, was I was not in the salon more than 1.5 hours. That’s warped time, as usually I’m in a twisted chair, to much chatter, for at least 6 hours. Now my question is WHY? To be charged hundred’s of dollars for something that always came out bad. I have long hair as well… She is the best of all the rest from Marlborough to Milan, and I do mean Italy. Everyone in Marlborough should be going to her. I interviewed 5 other salons in close proximity, not even close to what she can do… I’m very picky, don’t write a review unless it is among the best… been all over the world, and the best is SHINE… And I give this a 10… for timeliness, color, customer service, cut, and price, right here in Marlborough. SHINE is proper, as your hair will blind people from it’s shine and luster.

Jennifer is an amazing colorist!

I called looking to find a stylist who would feel comfortable doing a drastic cut (we took probably close to 16 inches off in total) and the woman who answered the phone was so polite and made me feel so confident that they stylist she set me up with was a perfect fit. And she was so right! Linda W was so professional and so sweet and I walked out of there the happiest I have ever been with making such a drastic change to my hair. Not to mention in San Diego I would have paid twice as much as I paid here! What an amazing experience all around! I will definitely be going there regularly !

I tried this salon for a new hairstyle. I had long hair and wanted to try something a little shorter and more modern (medium length bob with layers)… it came out perfect! I was thrilled with the results and will definitely be back. I’ve received so many compliments and the style is very easy to manage. I had Linda R for my stylist.

This pleasant looking and unassuming home on the outside, actually is a fantastic full service hair salon on the inside with multiple rooms and stations.
Jennifer the owner started this up years ago after working in the business for several years. I had been going to her for routine haircuts when she worked for a hair salon in Hudson and followed her here when she struck off on her own. All total, I have been using her almost exclusively for about 12 years. Wow! That should say something.
Her business is clean, organized, accommodating and well staffed by other hair experts. Everyone is friendly, professional and talented. They also offer professional therapuetic massages.
Appointments recommended, and regardless of who you get to cut, style or do your hair, you should be very pleased with the results, service and price. You just might become a regular!
Closed Sunday and Monday… hey, everyone needs a couple of days off.
