Little Shop Of Flowers

Love this shop. I have been a frequent user of them for years and most times its last minute and I am very desperate but they always take care of my orders and the end result is always spectacular. Last year, I used them for my anniversary and I called at the last minute and asked for a rush order for me to pick up. I was amazed and grateful when Joy (the owner) said she could handle it. I was very happy when I showed up and Joy was in the back working on it talking to another customer saying the nicest things about me. She said that I am a loyal customer and I always call them when I need something. It was very pleasant hearing it considering what a rush I put on her. She also made the arrangement incredible. My wife loved it so much that we had to call Joy and thank her.

Wow! What an awesome shop! This quaint little flower shop in Marlboro certainly lives up to it’s name. I have been going there for years, and each time it gets better and better. Always a pleasant experience when I walk through the door. Exceptional creativity in arranging in The Little Shop of Flowers!

What you see is what you get. Name-​wise. It is quite a small sized shop. I get a kick out of the movie reference a la Little Shop of Horrors (1986). I hope this was on purpose.
I came in on Mother’s Day to pick up a last-​minute small bouquet for mia madre. The two shopkeepers were really busy, and they sure let me know it every chance they got. They couldn’t even stand with me a full minute before saying in an exasperated tone how busy they were, and not before passing us around to each other like we were a plague.
I can understand that there were pre-​orders to be fulfilled, and that my walk-​in was very last minute, but you should NEVER EVER give off the impression that you are too busy to wait around for me to make up my mind. Not everyone who walks into your shop will have an exact idea of what they want. As a florist, you should be prepared to work under pressure.
Realize that customers rely on your expertise; this means you should be able to do the following:
1– Be cheerful. It’s a flower shop– not the DMV, and I don’t expect Mr. Grouchy to rear his ugly head.
2– Be able to discern what flowers are appropriate for special occasions. As you should be actively using your creative juices, know that I am thinking of what the receiver of this bouquet would like. If I wanted any less for my mom, I could have easily run to A&P.
3– Smile even when you’re under time constraints. If you’re running around like chickens with heads cut off, maybe you should hire an extra person to run the shop.
4. Don’t rush me with impatient looks; if you can’t even work under pressure, what makes you think I can?
I did not feel welcome in this shop. I love flowers– love receiving them, love planting them, and love to enjoy them, but I did not enjoy this shop at all. Though the bouquet came out decent, there are friendlier florists available. I have never had this problem at any other florist shops in NJ, the city or upstate NY.
