Country Inn & Suites by Carlson-Marion

This hotel location was not bad. Literally right in a Meijer parking lot and next to a Steak and Shake. It was clean and the room was sufficient. I would stay here again. Just your average hotel stay.

First time in Ohio. First time at Country Inn and Suites. First time next to Steak and Shake. First time next to Meijer’s (the ²⁴⁄₇ un-​Walmart/​Target).

If you want to be close to a Meijers store, this is the place — right next to the parking lot, so there’s your scenic view. Place is going through a much needed renovation. I stayed at the Country Inn in Atlanta several times and that place is great. This one is not. Very 2-​star average quality — similar to any Holiday Inn Express… meh. Staff was fine I guess, I never needed them. Free breakfast is priced right for the quality. Room was clean, bed was fine, shower was AWFUL — almost zero water pressure. Felt like I was showering in a drizzle. There are other motels in the area — I will certainly try one of those next time. Rooms SHOULD be priced about 40% less for the quality you get.

This place is aight… for Marion, OH actually quite classy!
The hotel is designed to have that «country» feel. The lobby feels like your living room. In the lobby they also have a computer and printer you can access. Go around the corner and there are soda and vending machines (a can of coke for $ 1 i kinda a rip off but oh well).
In the back there is a small indoor pool and I saw a sign for a gym, although I did not check it out.
They have continental breakfast in the AM… which was a solids 3 stars as far as hotel continental breakfasts go. They have all the staples, from cereal to eggs and everything in between. The room that the breakfast is in is quite small… no room for luggage!
The rooms was nice, not really memorable at all. It had a flat screen tv, a microwave/​mini fridge, and a lovely view of the highway. It was clean and fresh and had nice shampoo samples!!!
The staff are kind and courteous and will give you directions if you need them.
I traveled here on business, and probably will return again on business… for personal travel and stay I have no idea why anyone would stay here?
