I should have looked at his business address more carefully before doing business with guy Ben Sabage… and you should too! 4625 Admiralty is a FAKE adddress! what huge cojones this guy has. Hide in plain sight. Do you really want to do business with a company or person that does not pay their contractors? Its sort of like the fair trade thing… If you would llke to take in a charter in LA I would keep looking… Be careful here. I was hired by this company(by Ben Sabage) to do a catering for a nice family. We did the event, and got great reviews from the family(I retain a super nice email written by the family post event. The problem is the charter company has yet to pay us. Now, I am not a company that can absorb losses like this($ 2.500). Its just me. This hits my family big-time. Its as if I and my family had treated a rich family to a nice event on a private yacht. I have emailed, called and to no avail… Below is a chronological view of the events for your consideration: 1. Chef Gill shop & buy for the groceries, prep the food and provide the service(3 days work) and everybody is happy.(the entire bill was about $ 2,500). We were on that boat for 13+ hours!(we were told we would only be out for 8 hours) 2. After 3 weeks I write an email asking for a check. He answers it with an email that says he has not gotten the invoice that I have sent(I verified I sent it). We exchange emails and phone calls, all the time, he is putting me off, and not sending payment. «I’m not in my office», or I’m in San Diego”, or «my accountant sent the check». Meanwhile no check! 3. I write several emails, make several phone calls, getting quite angry(admittedly, and rightly so). 4. Finally I speak with him on the phone: He mentions that the reason he will never pay me is because I was rude to him! And, he wrote me an email(I have the email) saying that he would«not pay me just because I’m an idiot»… We did a great job for this family. We should be payed for our services. We have heard that he has done this type of thing before to other contractors in the area. Documentation on all of this is available, including affidavits of problems he has had with other contractors in Marina Del Rey. «where there is smoke, there is fire»…
