WBE​.NET is a membership trade association for entrepreneurs to get involved and learn how to compete in the global marketplace. We provide education, learning support and online access for Export Trade Agents. You never buy or warehouse merchandise. You act as intermediary between buyers and suppliers and oversee the details of transactions.

Learn the basics of exporting and how to start your own business in a 4-​stage process that includes: 1) building export capacity; 2) identifying best markets; 3) making sales and getting paid; and 4) delivering the goods.

Through WBE​.NET you’ll learn how to identify local supplies, locate foreign buyers, negotiate and facilitate the deal, and earn commissions or profits.

History

Established in 1987.

World Business Exchange Network began as a research project by Roosevelt Roby and wife Cathy for the Christian Science Monitor radio broadcast seeking global market opportunities. Within thirty days following a commercial appeal, they received over nine thousand responses from more than one hundred countries wanting to do business with the USA.

WBE​.NET received a Certificate of Review from the US Department of Commerce in concurrence with the US Attorney General, to promote US Exports and to develop Export Trading Companies. From their knowledge and experience selling products to foreign countries, they designed the first bulletin board database and commercial website to educate and support entrepreneurs who want to learn how to take advantage of trade opportunities.

The WBE program has trained thousands to become US Export Trade Agents, to start their own businesses building relationships with buyers and suppliers across the world and learning how to put the profit in their pockets

Business Owner

Roosevelt Roby began his business journey in 1969. Frustrated by lack of respect or advancement on his job, his wife told him he was smart enough to run his own business. That spark ignited a world of possibilities. With ventures ranging from heavy equipment repair to roller skate rentals, in 1985 Entrepreneur Magazine recognized his experience and asked him to produce start-​up manuals for others to follow. In 1987 he founded the World Business Exchange Network to promote his interest in global opportunities.

Roby was the Founding Chairperson serving four years with the International Trade Sub-​committee for the Los Angeles Mayor’s office. Having years of practical experience in diverse business applications, Roby’s common sense approach can be followed in an easy step-​by-​step manner. His engaging personality and homespun humor has been heard on radio across the country promoting education, entrepreneurship and international trade.
