Change is afoot at tikitibü! A new location is in the very near future. I hope to be all settled in by the first week of September. Even more exciting are new services!

The focus at tikitibü is on natural skincare and hair removal. Eminence Organic Skin Care is the cornerstone for all facial services. Also offered are Enzyme Peels and Sea Pearl Herbal Peel by Dermaesthetics.

Hair removal can also be natural. Traditional waxing services are available using Nufree, a soy-​based botanical product that has no resins or polymers. Body sugaring is my favorite hair removal method! Hair is removed in the direction of growth resulting in less breakage and leaves the skin soft and silky smooth.

tikitibü also offers Ciruculatory massage. Its benefits include improved blood circulation and lymphatic flow that helps the body rid itself of toxins. It is also relaxing and helps to reduce stress.

History

Established in 2011.

I became an Esthetician because I love skin care! My experience has been at a large, busy spa. I enjoyed experience there but wished I could have more time with my clients be it educating them about skincare or getting to know them better. It was in this spirit that I decided to open my own skin care studio.

I always knew what I was going to name my studio. I love the word tikitibü. Its origins are British and it is originally spelled tickety-​boo. It means everything is alright, all is good. So when someone asks you how you are you can reply «Everything is tikitibü…»

I have had a varied career and have been lucky enough to love everything I do. For me everyday is different! Skin care has been a lifelong passion of mine. I especially love product! After working at a large spa, I rediscovered the benefits of massage and am happy to introduce this new service to my studio!

I am so glad I found Cynthia! Her knowledge of the chemistry and biology of how the skin functions and acts is definitely impressive. I’m so glad I found her via Unilocal and she took the time to do my consultation, rather than other estheticians I have gone to who did not go into detail compared to her. They were not as personable and didn’t take the time to analyze my skin before the facial. Cynthia, on the other hand, was methodical in the products she chose for my skin, after a close examination, and took the time to understand my current routine and understand why my skin was having issues.
The entire process was great, it was one of the most relaxing facials I have gotten. She also takes the time to do a hand treatment and foot treatment, which was fabulous and the way she massaged your shoulders was heavily. I love how through she is and was able to get all of my whitehead/​blackheads out in a non painful way. she is updated on the latest trends and techniques and always researching which makes her one of the best well versed person in the realm of skincare.
She uses Eminence products from Hungary and all their creams and cleansers smell so divine. I love all their organic products, and shes the second person who I have been to to carry the product line.

Cynthia’s magical and intuitive hands were just what the Dr. ordered. The massage was amazing and I actually felt energized and not ready to fall asleep once I got up and going to leave. She combines all aspects of massage and again her hands are intuitive. She is quite knowledgeable about all of her products. I come in from Montana and my daughter treated me to a massage. I can’t wait to return. She is a blessing to be a skin care professional and masseuse.

My oh my! Today was my first ever facial, and what a better way to start 2015 than a facial @ Tikitibu. A couple days before the treatment, Cynthia spent time on the phone going over what to expect and she made sure I was not allergic to any of the ingredients in her facials. Honestly, I have TONS of allergies. She did such an excellent job today & I feel like I got my edumacation on when it comes to skin care. I have dry and sensitive skin, and we talked through a daily routine and she even left me with some free goodies to try out! I will most definitely come back to her because she really knows what she’s talking about and she’s personable and caring when it comes to good skin care. I will spread the word you best believe ittttt! :D

I didn’t want to write a review my first trip in because of course getting your first facial somewhere is usually amazing and you leave feeling great BUT I went in for my second «facial» yesterday, and my face has cleared up almost 80 percent from when I first went! She gives you samples of what she first uses on you, gives you some more if you don’t know how to feel about them once you come back! I ended up buying a few of the products this time that I know are changing my skin– she can feel every little issue with your skin just while putting the products on your face and seeing how they respond. She educated on everything she’s using and how it works. Amazing! She’s the real deal. If your skin is a concern I would definitely come here.

Cynthia is so fantastic. After coming off bc, my previously happy and awesome skin was having a major freak out. I was looking for somewhere to get a facial with natural products and stumbled across Tikitibu. So glad I did.
Cynthia is super sweet, incredibly knowledgeable, and so thorough. She squeezed me in the next day and was so easy to schedule with via email.
The facial seemed like it lasted forever (in an awesome way) and she really took her time. She talked to me beforehand about what was going on, talked to me after about what she found, and loaded me up with tons of free samples. NO ONE DOES THAT!
Her prices are super reasonable, especially considering the high end products she uses. (Eminence Organics is NOT a cheap line!) The products are top notch and smell AMAZING.
Her place is great. And there’s plenty of street parking.
I’ll definitely be coming back.

This place is a real neighborhood gem for locals but it’s only a 10 minute drive for me from Century City! I *love* coming here… I come away feeling completely relaxed, my skin is clean and radiant, all the clogged pores have disappeared. I trust Cynthia’s expertise, as she delivers personal service for *your* particular skin type and problem, not a one-​size-​fits-​all kind of facial. The hand, feet, and shoulder massage during the treatment are amazing! I highly recommend Tikitibu, you won’t be disappointed. Very, very good value for high-​end results!

Got the Staycation treatment which was 1 hour Happy Hour facial and 1 hour massage. Cynthia was warm & personable. I felt comfy right away. I suggest getting there a little early on your first appointment to have time for paperwork.
The massage was different that what I’m used to & she said it would be. It was very nice and relaxing, not firm. Her technique releases tension in a gentle way. Who knew?! I’m used to deep tissue so this was a cool change of pace. But if you are into deep tissue or sports massage this is not for you.
The facial was magnificent! I felt totally pampered. My face never felt so good. I will return for sure for this treatment. I’m still glowing.
After she takes time to sit with you for a skin analysis. Samples are provided so you can try before buy. Nice. I was very pleased with Cynthia’s treatments.

The Happy Hour facial was amazing; like a massage and facial rolled into one! Cynthia really customizes the facial to your preferences and skin type and pays great attention to you. And isn’t pushy at all in recommending the products she uses as she cares that clients love it before buying anything. I think I found my occasional splurge ;)

Hands down, the best body-​hair removal service that I have ever experienced. EVERRRRR.
I went to Cynthia about a month ago for my first sugaring treatment. Full Brazilian, baby! Wahoo!
I felt like I was entering my very own, personal salon as she books clients one at a time. It was so wonderful to have her undivided attention, especially with such a sensitive area of the body.
She walked me through her sugaring process, step-​by-​step, and continued to let me know what she was doing throughout the session. Cynthia is so knowledgeable and kind that she makes a Brazilian go by in a snap! Hardly any pain during the sugaring and my skin recovered quickly after.
I can’t wait to go back to her, but she did such a thorough job, that even now, a month later, I’m not in need another sugaring session. But seeing Cynthia again is definitely in my future.

This is a small single-​room salon in Mar Vista (across Jefferson Blvd. from Playa Vista near Marina del Rey) where the owner, Cynthia, gives you her undivided attention and treats you like her only client. I started going in January to try sugaring hair removal and find it leaves my skin smoother and lasts longer than wax. I’m hooked and have been going regularly (1−2x per month) doing various body parts. It’s easy to reach her (usually via text) to schedule an appointment. She is readily available. I usually go in the late afternoon on a weekday when it is easier to find street parking (after the school day). Note that the building/​complex is very unassuming and for my first appointment I had to walk around a bit and wondered if I was in the right place. You enter the small brown complex from either the back alley (gate is unlocked) or from the sidewalk along Centinela. Knock on the door that says Tikitibu and Cynthia greets you warmly like a long time friend. You will instantly feel welcome and she treats you like a VIP for a lot less $ than one of those big salons.

In one word, amazing. Cynthia is a wealth of knowledge and really works to customize each experience or product offering specifically to MY needs. She is wonderful at explaining everything in detail, and is so professional. As I came in for my appointment, State Board was leaving from doing a surprise inspection. The inspector was praising Cynthia on her hygiene and sterilization methods, and having an exemplary environment. This just speaks to Cynthia’s attention to detail. I have received a fabulous facial at Tikitibu before, and I returned to try a massage. First of all, the length of time for her standard massage is 75 minutes! It was a sublime experience, and a perfect amount of time to relax but not get antsy. She incorporated several methods of massage and body treatment so I received the maximum benefit, as I was experiencing some soreness. I highly recommend coming here for facials, sugaring, or massage as Cynthia is one of a kind!

Cynthia is awesome. I recently started taking my skin care more seriously and she has been the best person to help me figure out what is best for me. She is extremely knowledgable, thorough, and uses great organic products. Despite not being in a «traditional» spa atmosphere, facials and sugaring sessions are incredibly relaxing and feel very full. She has a ton of positive energy and is a joy to be around. Cynthia is amazing. She is able to use her knowledge of skin and products to find the best fit for each person. I have problem skin and was very frustrated. Cynthia offered great suggestions and things I should considering changing about my skin care routine that may be causing more irriatation. Guess what… she was right. She uses all natural products so there is no irritation or issue ever.
She is fantastic and I wish everyone would visit and see for themselves. My skin is so improved from where I was to where I am today. I get a facial once a month and I am kicking myself for not taking a «before» picture… not that I would want to share it.

I have never had waxing done prior to going to Cynthia at Tikitibu. It was my daughter who first urged me to have my eyebrows done. And she was right! Cynthia explained what she was doing step by step and how it might feel. Sugaring was not as painful as I thought it would be. She also does a great facial! My face felt so good afterwards. And I was completely relaxed! I definitely will be returning for future facials and sugaring!
