Business Owner

Dr. Joseph Horrigan, a board certified chiropractic sports medicine practitioner and strength and conditioning specialist is widely regarded as one of the preeminent professionals in his field and serves as the director of the Soft Tissue Center at DISC.

With more than 20 years of experience, Dr. Horrigan has held national leadership roles within the chiropractic community, advances the profession with original peer-​reviewed research and presentations, has written numerous consumer articles, along with two successful books, in addition maintaining an active role in post-​graduate instruction and a private practice.

Specializing in the diagnosis and management of sports and soft tissue injuries, Dr. Horrigan, takes a comprehensive approach in his evaluation and treatment plans in order to prevent further injury and return patients and athletes quickly to play.

So far I’m at a loss for the negative reviews. It’s like you either love the place or hate the place, but read the bad ones. Sounds like they are just disgruntled patients getting the run-​around for issues that are the patient’s responsibility.
You went and had an MRI or imaging done? Guess what? It’s YOUR responsibility to get the report and imaging services YOU paid for. Had to rant on that one. Don’t blame other people and please don’t give a review for a business that isn’t related to their CARE!
I came in here after seeing another local Chiropractor and DISC was much better with lasting results (at least until a few more big wipe-​outs I had). The facility is top notch and is BIG! They have all these departments so make sure you’re going to the right place.
2 things and I was sold this was for me:
Redbull stickers on the door, and the polite staff. I’m a surfer so it’s important that my Chiropractor understands how hard I am on joints and my neck.
If you have some crazy medical condition that really needs a teaching and research hospital, I would suggest UCLA. That’s what they’re there for.

Where to start, 2010 brought my teenage daughter to see mr. Horrigan for potential torn illoposas tendon issue on referral from dr. Brazina at DISC. We let mr. Horrigan know that he was pretty much our last hope as we had seen few other real doctors and have been unable to get her fixed. Initial consultation went well he seemed concerned. He referred us to mink for updated images, and sent us out for full body nerve testing. He sat and looked at new images with us and said he was sending them out for further review. Two months later get call from nurse in Colorado tells me findings she reads in minks written report and assumes I already know this. I said NO, no one bothered to mention it, or he didn’t even read it.
I called mr. Horrigans office In regards to this he’s not in Deloros says he’s been very busy she’ll call me back (No return call). I called left message with horrigans voice mail (no return call). Called office again spoke to Deloros and yes I am upset by now, she says she’ll call me back (never does). But low and behold a bill comes .
Never did get to discuss this issue with mr. Horrigan as avoided me and the whole issue.
So I say if you are not a professional athlete, a star, or one lucky enough to have your photo put up on his walls stay away. There are plenty of professionals out there, that will treat you and your money the same no matter who you are.

For post-​injury PT soft tissue work & rehabilitative training, you couldn’t find a more comprehensive facility than the Soft Tissue Center at DISC. Working with non-​athletes and athletes of every caliber, the Soft Tissue Center provides a highly motivational environment. They provided the support necessary to rehab from a series of surgeries no one else could have. Dr. Joe Horrigan and his staff are outstanding. No one does it better.

I love the Soft Tissue Center! Everytime I walk in it’s buzzing with athletes training and happy people. Dr. Horrigan does amazing hands on work, he helped me overcome chronic back pain which has bothered me for years. Justin, Steve, Dave and Jeremy are all rockstar doctors– I’ve worked with everyone of them and have had really good results. I’m also a huge fan of Jenn– the acupuncturist. She’s treated me several times for stress and recovery– thank you guys– I truly feel cared for like a family member when I come in to visit!

I visited Dr. Horrigan to show him my back condition. He was referred to me by Dr. Brey of the DISC center in Marina Del Rey. Dr. Horrigan was a nice enough guy, (showed up 30 minutes late though), heard my total story of my back problem, and then based on my complaint ended up referring me to Mink Radiology. I had my MRI done and a $ 1000 later in fees, I cannot get Dr. Horrigan to call me back to talk about my case. When I complained to Dr. Brey about the situation Dr. Horrigan calls me and leaves me a message saying that he will call me back the next day and never does. Still waiting for him to call me back to discuss what the MRI says. In the meantime I am stuck with bills from Dr. Brey and Dr. Mink. Dr. Horrigan has not billed me. He must be feeling bad about his lack of follow up and professional courtesy. In the meantime, I get calls from Dr. Brey saying that Dr. Horrigan is not affiliated with DISC and is an independent business. Maybe Dr. Horrigan should remove the «at D.I.S.C» label from his business as it is misleading and gets the patient to feel that the two businesses are related.
