Mariner’s Cafe in Mariner’s Village

We went for lunch and we can’t wait to go back! Perfect little hidden gem in the Marina. You almost feel on a vacation on an island. The place is neat, nicely decorated and the service was great and professional.
There is enough on the menu for all the palates, and everything looks delicious. We had their famous burger and the chicken kebab. Everything is made in house.
I highly recommend it!

Pretty sure my Greek salad was made by an 8yr old.
Crudely cut vegetables that looked like they were borrowed from the burger toppings, drowned in a sea of dressing.
Which was also balsamic vinegarette that’s the first for me.

For a quick bite the place is good the service is good but they get flustered when they get slammed. I don’t mind the wait when it’s good food but I have figured that the weekend morning cook has a love for salt because the food is way too salty.

Ugh! Such a disappointment. This place was so dirty inside. When we walked in we were the Only customers and there was a pile of dirt in the middle of the floor, like they swept it up and left there. The gal at the register had no clue what was going on. Asked if they served breakfast all day, she didn’t know. Ordered soup she forgot to put on order. Guacamole was salsa with chunks of avocado-​terrible. We waited FOREVER and then our food came out one item at a time. Got the blue cheese-​apple pizza with half chicken. (I’m a vegetarian) and my half had a few random chicken pieces on it. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is the waffles were great, and the macaroons were the Best we ever had. If you live in this complex, I guess it’s convenient. At the end, the girl who was the manager was super nice to us, but by then we were already frustrated. My sons cheesesteak was super small, flimsy and hardly any meat!

Organic eggs are not an extra charge!!? Who does this? Organic coffee served daily, GF options? Only the BEST NEIGHBORHOOD CAFE EVER!!!

What a lovely hidden treasure in the Marina! Nestled in the middle of a large condo complex on Captain’s Row, this is much more than a café (although their coffee and espresso is good too). They have delicious pastries, sandwiches, and some of the best pizza I’ve ever tasted.
The apple blue cheese pecan pizza is nearly to die for, and I really enjoyed the two cheese pizza as well — super creamy! These artisan pies are light and crispy, good for carb counters but more substantive than your everyday thin crust. There are many selections, all for a reasonable price. I find I have to keep coming back. The scenery is very nice too (I won’t spoil the surprise). Delivery available. Must see!

Excellent café with a French twist (owners are French). Good variety of quality food at reasonable prices. Nice, quite atmosphere outside and inside (I even love their taste in music). Everything I’ve tried so far has been super good (and I plan on making my way through their menu).

Much better than Breakwater Bistro which was here before but outside of the pizzas it tastes like generic Costco food that you pay 13 dollars for. There’s only one person in the kitchen and they clearly suffer because of it when crowds show up

Since the place got taken over the improvement is PHENOMENAL. Before at ‘The Bistro’ you were met with lunch and a side of attitude. NOW it’s the most pleasant business owner I have ever met, who cares for customer input. The food has been improved (so much fresher) and cost has been lowered! RESULT
I would recommend this place to everyone — The atmosphere inside is now very inviting and i’ll be going there lots!!!

The Breakwater Bistro was a disaster, so we were happy to have this place so close. The prices are certainly more reasonable and food like the pizza is actually decent. I think ordering a random coffee during the week this place is fine, but we just had a miserable experience ordering breakfast here Sunday morning.
My husband literally just spend over an hour there. We ordered online and they just couldn’t get food out. My husband waited around for 25 minutes where my food was sitting out getting cold the entire time while they worked on his dish. He brought it back to our apartment and my turkey sausage was missing and they added onions in the breakfast burrito when I specifically asked them not to.
So… husband went BACK and didn’t return for another 30 min. He came back and when I checked out my food they missed the tomato from the burrito entirely and my turkey sausage? Yeah apparently it was pork. I told my husband not to both going back to complain about it because we’d already lost an hour of our time together and his food was cold by now too.
What a disaster when it’s busy. Will likely avoid during the weekends and possibly ever. Shame because it’s so darn convenient to our apartment!

I like finding off the beaten track food and lodging. Ideally, a small, family owned gem nestled among the cavernous chains that’s easy to navigate through traffic.
On Admiralty Way, in MDR, the Mariner’s Café is such a place and my latest find. I was invited to join two French friends for lunch last week at the newly re-​opened café in Mariner’s Village, an apartment complex dating back to the 70’s. Now I haven’t been to Mariners Village in over 20 years, so naturally, I wondered what drastic renovations awaited me, until I pulled into park. Nothing’s changed!
I navigated the lot, followed the springs, and climbed the stairs to the café, across from the onsite cleaners, hair salon, and rental office. Just like the old days.
We sat outside, me making sure we ordered the recommended Gorgonzola burger, made with Angus Beef, with sauteed onions, lettuce and tomato on a Brioche bun, and the Blue Cheese pizza with apples and pecans. Both were tasty delights. I also tried ¼ of a veggie burger, which was fine, as veggie burgers go, but I was glad to get back to my beef, which, as a rule, I don’t normally eat, so it was really a treat, followed by stuffing myself with the remaining two pieces of the blue cheese pizza for desert. Gorgeous. I was sorry I didn’t have enough room for the lox and bagels… the salmon looked gorgeous.
Next time I’m in the Marina again, I may have another go at that pizza. It’s like nothing I’ve ever tasted. Was it really that outrageously good? I’m a sucker for Eggs Benedict too, especially for $ 7.95. Did I mention the prices are really down to earth. I found out they deliver as well as cater.
Don’t expect a lot of atmosphere, but it’s’ quiet enough for a conversation, rather private in the nostalgic village and there’s plenty of parking.
Wine and beer are for sale, but only if you’re outside on the deck at one of the four tables. There’s lots more things on the menu I plan on coming back for — like the Kale & Endive Salad and the Truffle/​Parmesan Fries, maybe a French pastry from the glass case…
