Marina Paddle – Paddle Board & Kayak Rentals

They have great Groupon deals. (summer 2014 — $ 25 for 2 hours double kayak, seems like it’s now the same amount for 90 minutes) and kayaked for the first time with friends. It was a great experience on a beautiful sunny day.
The people here are friendly and professional. The marina is gorgeous with a lot of areas to explore. Wearing a life vest is optional. We saw a yoga class in the water! Who knew!
This is a pet peeve but the only irritant is seeing so many paddle boarders. It seems more challenging to maintain balance on one but most acted entitled like they had the right of way.
This is a fun activity I would definitely do again even though I was the only one to get blisters on my hand. I’ll either wear golf gloves next time or hold the oar differently. Lots of free parking as well.

Bought a Groupon for here to kayak. Didn’t have any problems redeeming them. Staff was really nice. Got in the water fast and we were off! We will definitely be back!

This place is great. The are flexible and I’ve never had any booking issues. I’ve rented Kayaks and SUP from them and have had a great time every time i go out on the water. Staff is very helpful, even when they are busy but if you have a reservation, you are all set to go. I will def come back and they have the best rates in the Marina.

We had a great time renting water bikes this post summer. The staff is friendly and helpful. Just make sure to adjust your bike seat beside you leave the dock or your butt will pay the price lol…

They are nice, flexible, have a variety of boards and kayaks in good condition. They are open all year and even in high winds!
They offer a restroom for changing after and don’t hound impounded on your time (it’s OK to show up a few mins later, they won’t get mad) I love Marina Paddle!

Come mid week, rentals are half priced!!!
Great location minutes off the freeway, loads of free parking, and soooo many places nearby to hydrate post paddle!

Easy to get to paddle board /​kayak place. I took a friend kayak’ing (since the sailboat I wanted to rent wasnt available), and we had a blast. Tandem paddle was fun.
Its a bit pricey, but the service is good. I’d do it again.
I got to show my friend the boat and ran into my instructor for a bit. I cant wait to take my friends sailing soon.

Been here a couple times now and both experiences were awesome! Good equipment, friendly and helpful staff. First time we rented a couple SUPs had no idea how to use them but they were patient and helpful. Second time around we rented sea kayaks the weather was nice and the water warm. I’d definitely recommend Marina Paddle to friends and family.

I enjoyed my time renting the stand-​up paddle boards. I did it with friends on our own, no class and we had no problem.
I was frustrated by the reservation process and apparently did not do it correctly the first time online. I had to keep calling back and try to reserve for my group of 6 on a weekend.
I’d go again using Class Pass– not sure how often i’d rent for $ 40 more than 1 or 2 times per yr or when someone is in town and wants to try.

So when my friend and bride-​to-​be said she wanted to go paddle boarding for her bachelorette party, I was a little apprehensive, having never been on a paddle board and knowing virtually nothing about the sport. After a some investigating, we decided upon Marina Paddle due to its great Unilocal reviews and we were not disappointed.
First of all, none of us had ever been paddle boarding before in our lives and we were all a little anxious about trying it for the first time. The staff at Marina Paddle was absolutely wonderful in teaching us the ropes and providing us with all the guidance we needed. The equipment seemed to be in tip-​top shape. All of our questions were answered patiently and with good humor.
We decided to start out with the one hour rental since it was our first experience. And it was wonderful. There is something truly relaxing and soothing about paddling about on the ocean. We also saw wildlife, lots of birds of course, but also a great sea lion who followed us around and seemed very friendly.
Paddle boards are $ 30 for one hour, kayaks are $ 20 for one hour (discounts apply for longer rentals.) Parking is free in the private lot.

I’ll make this brief. I bought the groupon which made this trip $ 20 for two hours. Parking is free, convenient, and easy in their parking lot.
Staff: friendly enough. They weren’t welcoming but they got the job done.
Equipment: my paddle-​board had cracks in it but my friends looked good. The paddle was fine.
The experience: it was my first time so I was nervous. It was a windy day so the water was pretty choppy. So choppy that my friend who never gets sea sick did. :/​we cut our adventure in half because of this. I wish the view would have been better too. There was a park and a bunch of boats to look at mostly.
Overall, it was worth the groupon but I won’t be back.

My family and I went paddle boarding on a Thursday morning. It was great. I did not want some long involved lesson as I knew my teens would get really bored. A gentleman gave us the how to and some pointers and let us go! We were in the water within 15 min of check in. It really is so easy! If I can do it, anyone can! Will definitely be doing this again. And the weekday special of $ 20? Perfect! Thanks for helping me make my teens smile!

Stellar little business right here. Pleasant, laid back crew of employees that get you out on the water enjoying that SoCal weather in no time. Kayaks, paddle boards, and hydro bikes, if it’s meant to cruise along the water then Marina Paddle has it. New to the world of leisure water activities? Marina Paddle is more than happy to walk you through the ins and outs of survival on the high seas (or at least within the Marina). If you need a little more training then no big deal, they have classes.
I think most people just cruise around the marina which is fine and all that but I recommend getting out to the actual ocean with a kayak, at least that’s what I do. Fewer people, plus I find it more peaceful to actually be out there away from it all. But when I paddle board I keep it within the marina, tons of little areas to explore and keep you busy. Last time I went down a channel to a swim area where it was like two feet deep and had about a dozen stingrays just swimming all over the place, goofing off like stingrays do. Swiming over my toes! I switch between kayaking and paddle boarding, they’re both a good source of exercise (unless you’re lazy and just float) plus the fresh air is always a plus.
I like it here. There are a lot of rental places up and down the coast but this one is a small business which needs support. A little tip for you, they often have deals on Living Social and Amazon local where you can get around 50% off which makes it SUPER worthwhile.
It’s summer, you live in Los Angeles, don’t just talk about the ocean, it’s time for you to get out there!

I was stoked when I found not only did I live a few miles away from the marina, but that there was a place that had paddleboards for rent (and on ClassPass, too!). The location is easy to find and parking is aplenty.
Reserving a board on the weekend on ClassPass is a little tricky — I reckon there are limited spots and lots of interested people. Other than that, the staff is really friendly and helpful, the boards are in great condition and seem to be a good brand (from what I can tell, I don’t really know board brands). I keep coming back here because I just love paddleboarding!
Dogs can come if they have their own life vest and it definitely helps if you’ve taken them before. I have been paddling for years but my dog has only come with me twice — it’s tricky if your dog is skittish like mine! But the staff was great at helping get him on and off the board at the dock. The rest, well, was up to me, haha!

Two Words: Paddle Away
Ah, kayaking in the Marina reminded me of my days on the water in Santa Barbara. Kayaking is a superb workout and you get to be out in the water while getting a (farmer’s) tan. You don’t need to be a pro kayaker to use these bad boys. The water was still, so it was not difficult paddling. They give you tips to kayak and certain routes. I was not really listening because I enjoy getting off the beaten path. Be sure to wear sunscreen or else you will get a gnarly sunburn. Don’t bring your Ray Bans because you may lose them if you fall off haha!
Stop by to paddle out!

Free parking and great prices! Check groupon for whatever activity you want to do or their website where they run frequent deals.
We went out for two hours and that gave us enough time to go out near the jetty to see sea lions and then all the way around to mother beach. A one hour rental would not be enough time for both as it takes time to get out there and back.
Pack a snack in the car for when you’re done. Layer on the sunblock (even if it’s overcast). Bring a hat, sunglasses and a dry change of clothes for when you’re done because your bum will get wet on any kayak.
If you’re considering the hydrobikes hurry up and do it as they are getting ready to get rid of them due to a new ordinance.

My friends and I wanted to go kayaking and this place had a good deal on Groupon. Honestly, this was one of the best groupon experiences I’ve ever had, no whiny «oh you have a groupon? you must wait 6 months for an appointment». We all purchased the groupon, made an appointment for the following Saturday and it was very simple.
There’s plentiful free parking, and we just walked in, handed in our groupons and walked over to the docks. Two couples had gotten 2 person kayaks, we got a super quick lesson and was on our way. The marina is not the cleanest but nice and it was actually pretty cloudy so there were few people. Also, like others have mentioned we totally saw sea lions. They were Unilocaling pretty loudly and they were resting on docks between some boats, make sure you stay at least 3 paddle lengths away!
The kayaks and paddles all were fine and we had a good time for 2 hours. So easy and simple, I highly recommend this place.

We rented the kayaks, hydrobikes and we also paddle boarded. We will be coming here for sure at least once a month. Paddle boarding is a workout for sure. Everyone is very friendly. The instructors are very informative. GREAT FOR KIDS!
