Marina Del Rey Parasailing

I was so glad to have done this! Little nervous in the beginning but it all turned out to be so much fun. The scenery was awesome! We were up by Santa Monica/​Venice and had some awesome pictures taken with it all in the background. (I had gotten the picture package which was around $ 25, pictures came out nice). Both of the guys that were on the boat were really cool and nice, made me feel more comfortable and they also let us know the rules about parasailing. They had music on as well. The weather was sunny a little windy which is fine because once you’re in the air you wont be paying attention to that but overall my boyfriend and i had a blast. (We did the 800ft) We will be returning soon!

If you guys wanna have an adventure, I recommend you guys to go. Tom and Rob are great staffs. They did great job and fun guys.

This is a very long overdue review as my experience took place almost two years ago, I digress, it was an unforgettable one. My boyfriend and I got there in the morning and the boat ride was fantastic, the music, the view, the water spraying lightly in your face. What they did for our group was have people go up in a clockwise direction and each couple had approximately five minutes suspended in the air. Being up there is not terrifying at all au contraire. It is very, very peaceful not to mention breathtaking. We purchased the picture package so there was a photographer who captured some great shots. On our way down we got to dip our feet in the water and on to the next… it was a great experience and I would recommend this venue to anyone seeking to pop their parasailing cherry.

Rob and mike on the boat were great! Smooth ride and customizable. Today was kind of a cloudy day but they went out and found a couple pockets of sun which was great. Courteous and professional, great conversation about the ocean and lakes. There was a young asian girl in the office that said we couldnt take our phones which i thought was a little lame because it basically forces you to buy their pics but it would have been nice have some ariel pics. She said incase i drop it which seems like it should be my problem if that happens. Not sure how the company or her could have that as a policy. Overall trip was great. We spent part of the day at venice and it was a nice way to finish the daylight. I recommend this place and enjoy!

One of my best experience !! Parasailing is safe and so smooth. When you went up there, it is so quite and so beautiful. Moreover, the customer service is very good! I love it! This place is the best

Amazing experience! The view is beautiful. The staff is so nice and helpful everything went perfect. Me and my boyfriend ordered the photo package. Defiantly a good idea so you can have some awesome pictures. :)

I was looking for something exciting to do to celebrate my niece’s graduation & this was it. What a blast! Good equipment, boat, and staff. It was windy & choppy on the water. We got a bit wet & cold but it was SO much fun!!!

If you choose the morning time slot it’s a little cheaper. Make sure to wear a sweater as it gets cold.
It seemed like the staff discreetly lined the people by weight as we were «shifted» to be the last ones to go. I would have much preferred being in the middle as I started getting slightly seasick forty minutes in. All in all, it was a good experience.

This place is nothing short of five stars. The prices were extremely reasonable and this activity was by far the highlight of my trip to Los Angeles. Marina Del Rey is gorgeous, and this company definitely sees to it that you get to experience that. I love how they played music on the boat and were very personable and friendly to every participant. The two guys that ran the boat were encouraging when I was scared to do it for the first time and put everyone at ease. I feel like I would come visit the Marina again in the future based on this activity alone. They even emailed me photos of when it was my turn to parasail. I will never forget this experience!

This was one of the best experiences of my trip to California by far. Friends and I decided to try it out, we went Kayaking first to kill the time and then Parasailing. The staff at the ticket booth (Mark) was very helpful and friendly. They were busy with phone calls but he still managed to take care of us and keep us happy. The boats crewman; Captain (Rob) and first mate/​photographer (Josh) were very relax and chill guys yet very professional, safe and knowledgable of procedures. They interacted and were personable to all passengers, making all us first timers feel safe and comfortable. They used first names for all passengers and were extremely fun and friendly.
IF YOU HAVE THE PLEASURE OF RIDING WITH THIS DUO, THEY ACCEPT TIPS; DO THEM THE FAVOR AND BRING EXTRA CASH TO TIP THEM. YOU WONT REGRET IT.

My experience was awesome!
The captain and his assistant did their best to make the experience more than just parasailing. They played music that was really soothing as we traveled the ocean. As far as the parasailing itself went, it was really safe and it lasted about 10 minutes in the air. The pictures were awesome, too. Totally worth the price, definitely recommend it to anyone looking for the thrill

Some of my friends from the Bay Area came to visit and I decided to take them parasailing because all the LA museums that they wanted to see were booked for months. I made reservations a month in advance. If you book a time before noon, you get $ 15 dollars off per person.
When the time came around, we made sure to arrive at least 45 mins earlier than our scheduled time to make sure we wouldn’t get lost finding the location, traffic, and parking issues. We arrived super early and they can only validate up to two hours. If you came too early, you can just drive out of the parking lot right before your boat comes and come back into the lot to get a new parking ticket.
I didn’t get her name, but the Asian girl working at the cash register was extremely helpful, accommodating and friendly. I’m giving an extra star just for her because of her customer service. We got our bracelets and had some time to kill. There a few cute shops around for you to check out and some restaurants, as well. You can definitely find your souvenirs here, but the things you find in these shops are quite pricey, which isn’t much of a surprise. They also have three outdoor carnival-​like grub places where you can order Thai food, smoothies, crepes, ice cream, hot dogs, etc. There is live music, as well, but we were probably just lucky to come at the right time.
When the time came, we went to the dock and there were a few chairs available for waiting, but definitely not enough for everyone. The boat came and we were on our way. Two people were in charge: one mainly to drive the boat and explain the instructions and the other to help us on with equipment and do most of the parasailing lift-​off and receiving us back in.
NOTE TO ANYONE WHO GETS SEASICK/​MOTION SICKNESS EASILY: this may not be the best activity to do. I am one of those people, but I didn’t think it would be that bad. It definitely was. I was a little seasick whenever the boat stopped/​slowed down because of the motion of the waves, but I thought I could just stick it out and that the actual parasailing part wouldn’t be bad at all. I was wrong. When we were actually up in the air, I wanted to puke. It was horrible.
However, it was incredibly fun (besides the motion sickness part) and worth it. Besides getting sick, the boat ride was super fast and incredibly fun, like a roller coaster ride. The parasailing part gave you great views and was very peaceful, not choppy at all. I love how they had some awesome music playing throughout the whole ride. And, if you have three people in your party, you can all go up together, but I think three people is the max. for the ride.
Recommendations:
1) Don’t do this if you have motion sickness, but if you’re crazy like me, take a pill to help with the motion sickness (dramamine may work). Also, bring something carbonated to help you feel better during/​after the ride.
2) If you want to save $ 15 per person, book your reservations for noon or earlier. And make reservations at least two weeks in advance, especially for weekends.
3) Wear a wind-​breaker jacket/​something to keep you warm. At top speeds on the boat, you’ll definitely be hugging yourself or using something bigger than you to defend yourself from the cold wind.
4) Everyone’s different, but I think photos on my phone were great quality and helped save some money. Just ask other people on the ride with you to help you out with some photos and help them out in return. We got over 20 photos at different angles and even videos! Kudos to our boat ride friends.
5) Don’t feel like you’re completely lost about the whole parasailing process. Just go with the flow and everything will be alright. I was hardly paying attention to the directions and I turned out just fine.
6) Try to find out what the weather is going to be like the day you’re trying to make reservations because you don’t want to go parasailing if it’s raining or overcast.
7) You can ask the boat captain to «dip» you in the water. It’s just dipping your feet in the water, not dunking you. I wish we knew about this before our flight.
8) Go for the magnum flight. Might as well go all out for a couple dollars more. Also, my friend who did this in Hawaii said it was a lot more expensive for a shorter time up in the air too. We paid only $ 225 for three people. Worth it.

I took my boyfriend here for the Magnum Flight for his birthday. We really enjoyed our experience.
I called over a month ahead to book 2 people. Their spaces are limited and we were given a 12:30pm slot. If I could do it again, I’d definitely get a later time slot to view the sunset over Santa Monica. My only pet peeve with the booking process was the girl helping me over the phone. I was supposed to get a text on my phone once booking was confirmed but I never got any. I had to call again the next day to confirm. Although each time I was put on hold for about 10 mins.
We were there on the boat with about 8 other people. The crew went over the safety basics and harness how-to’s, etc. Each ride took about 15 minutes total… although I would like at least 5 minutes more. They blast the music really loud on the boat and as you float up all the noise disappear. Once you reach 800 ft above water, the scenery is breathtaking and everything is quiet. It’s like the entire world slowed down. We were lucky the weather was nice that day.
It was definitely exhilarating going up and coming back down. They’ll even dip your feet in the water if you want when you come back down.
We got the photo package but now I wish we also did the video option as well.
The crew really accentuated how much they appreciate tips at the end of the boat ride. I’m assuming some people in the past have not tipped them. But honestly these guys really deserve it because they do a fantastic job of keeping things moving and of course keeping us safe.
Overall highly recommended and please get the Magnum option.

I had a fantastic experience parasailing! We booked the earliest departure and used the early bird coupon (got one in a pamphlet outside the gate) for the highest flight, and it was really a decent price with that. We also got the photo package, which was a good idea because they got pics of us throughout the flight. Booking, parking, and checking in were easy.
It is so serene up at the top, gliding by Santa Monica. I want to go back!

Great Experience!
Reserved two spots on a 3:45p.m. trip got there 15 minutes early. Easy to find and they validate parking. Boat left right on time and the employees were all really nice and welcoming. The music on the boat was great and the crew were very fun and outgoing! Was a great experience and a lot of fun. We were the last couple to go on our boat which was perfect right as the sun was starting to set… I highly recommend this company and parasailing for anyone who is looking for an exciting adventure. You have absolutely beautiful views! must choose the 800′ option when going, well worth the money.

Intoxicating! Exhilarating! Elating!
Make a reservation, arm yourself with flip flops, shades and heck, bring even your phone if you want amazing shots while up there (at your own risk though). And most importantly, bring your happy self because you are about to fly, honey! That is all you need.
After the captain’s welcome speech, get your groove on because otherwise the captain’s music will do it for you. Leave your worries in the land because captain Peter and mate Brian’s got you. And get you in the air so smoothly they will.
I definitely recommend going early in the morning @8:30 so the sun will be perfect and just complimentary to the cool wind. Another reason is the $ 15 discount per head. Who doesn’t love paying less for something priceless.
I also recommend going on three. As much as going as a couple is fun, this is something to be enjoyed with as much people you love. The Magnum flight (800ft) is commendable. If you’re going to do this, best do this all the way. It’s $ 90 per head while the 500 ft is $ 80. Get the photo package for $ 25 or go beyond that and bring your own GoPro as well for videos. You pay at the entrance and make sure the mate see your red wristband for photo.
The only thing missing from the scene was wine. I dearly craved it while on boat. I wish they had some or that I could bring my own. (Shoutout to captain :))

Shout out to Peter and Brian who made my first time so wonderful. Peter is awesome and Brian is good with photographs, so lend him your cell phone if you want him to snap good pictures of you and your friends — not to mention, he is hot stuff.
Check the website for details and discounts. Call in advance to make reservations. You’ll share a boat with people in the same reservation time. Although the parasailing session is only about ten minutes, the boat ride is just as enjoyable. Be cautious if you get seasick though. My friend got super seasick. I gave her menthol gum, which seemed to help.
I recommend going in the morning. I went at 11am on a summer day in August, and it was just lovely.
My friend complained that when she called to make a reservation over the phone, she was put on hold for a really long time before finally getting a representative to talk to her. My own complaints are the snooty girl at the front booth (I wish I got her name so I could call her out) and the smelly bathrooms. That’s all annoying but the parasailing and boat ride itself definitely outweighed the cons.

Call beforehand to get reservations! Unfortunately, I don’t think they take reservations online which is a bummer because I decided that I wanted to go parasailing late Sunday night after they had closed.
When we showed up to the counter, the lady nicely explained that the next few boats were full but we can come and get on the standby in case someone didn’t show up. We ended up getting on another boat, but was after the noon discount time that we were hoping for.
Grab a friend and take the 800 foot flight… you will not be disappointed! I wish I had brought my go pro or a camera up with me (anything with a strap around your wrist would be safe) because the views are amazing! We got the $ 30 or $ 35 (I forget) photo package where you get the SD card at the end of your trip. Brian took over 130 pictures for us and they were great! He really captured the moment of me and my friend flying above the world.
If you tend to get sea sick, take some medicine before! I was so focused on the excitement of my flight that I did not think of the boat ride. Depending how many people are flying on your boat, you will be on the boat for a while and I was miserable! I couldn’t talk or enjoy the ride because I was feeling sick.
Tips:
* Pack light, you will have to store everything under your seats,
* wear stuff you do not mind getting wet– you will get splashed!,
* you can wear your swimsuit or regular clothes on the flight,
* you will be barefoot the whole time on the boat, so wear shoes that are easy to remove
* get ready to have fun!
Everyone here is great, and it is worth the wait and every penny!

This was such an amazing experience! Rob and Peter (our captain) was experienced and charismatic. Our group has a great time and felt safe the whole time.
For those who have never done this before, you don’t need to know how to swim at all! You basically get strapped up to this device the resembles a swing and you’ll be attached to a bar, which is attached to the parachute. Once the boat starts going you’ll be up in the air. I think it’s totally worth the $ 90 for the experience.
This isn’t a thrilling ride if that’s what you’re looking for, it’s more relaxing/​beautiful. Two or three people up at once so plan your groups accordingly.
Another note is that it’s definitely a very coupley activity, but try it out if you’ve never done it!
