I have not shopped at LOFT in about half a year however whenever I do, I usually visit this MDR location. My experience today was great and several sales reps were very helpful and patient as they assisted me in trying to track down various items. Upon check-​out, the manager helped me order a sweater online so it could be shipped to my home.
The store was very neat, the fitting rooms were well tended too, helpful staff, no pressure nor rush — and as I walked around the store, several reps checked in with me. I found them to be competent and observed the manager to be in control of her store.
I will definitely be back. Pleasant experience.

Zero stars unfortunately aren’t an option, but after the staff conspired to steal my friends wallet — and then successfully hid their theft from the police — I WILL NEVER SHOP IN THIS OR ANY LOFT LOCATION EVER AGAIN!!! You’ve permanently lost this customer PLUS 5 others. Annually we spend between $ 750 and $ 1500 each on average. We have all agreed to take our money elsewhere. Karma will right this wrong, but I feel sorry for the ignorant and deprived individuals that committed the crime.

I visited this LOFT for the first time last week and the staff could not have been more helpful, finding things I saw in the window, bringing more sizes to the dressing room. My experience was very pleasant.

I do really like the clothes here, I’m petite and I live nearby. I used to go regularly and purchase clothes because they have great sales and good causal clothes and more professional clothes — all comfortable, but much like other reviewers, the customer service at this location left a bad impression. I agree a lot of the people working there are «mean girls.» I did a return of an online purchase and the cashier just acted like she was disgusted with me. I MIGHT go back, just because I like the fact that it’s nearby and rarely crowded. But I’ve never had good service at this location — I’ll just go with the expectation that service is going to be crappy. If I ever buy online again, I’ll return at fed ex or wherever, and come on, it’s pretty bad when your customer service is worse than fed ex or the post office.

The manager in this store is such an inappropriate, snotty, raving b%4tch, that I practically had a stroke from the frustration and stress of dealing with her.
I went to return some stuff the other day. It turns out I was out of the return window. I get it: I mistimed the return, which is my fault. BUT: While I can stomach the consolation prize of a merchandise credit at the «then-​current price» (read: super deep discounted), I will NOT stomach being informed that after purchasing the items, they have since become «final sale,» so can’t be returned even for a merchandise credit.
Oh HELL no. I know false advertising when I see it. You can’t sell someone something that isn’t flagged as «final sale,» then arbitrarily deem them «final sale» when the hapless consumer tries to return them.
I had to threaten to file a complaint to get this horrible individual to give me the merchandise credit that I deserved.
Meanwhile, I was ignored as I shopped after that encounter. And when I purchased enough merchandise to qualify me for six of the $ 25 merchandise «coupons,» I somehow wasn’t shocked when the same bee-​otch of a manager refused to give me my six $ 25 coupons, and instead, wrote on a single coupon that I was owed six of them. (I saw a whole pile of these coupons… she just didn’t feel like giving that many to me).
Word to the wise, sisters: Stay the heck away from this toxic, crappy LOFT. Give your business to the nearby White House | Black Market, instead, where the clothing is beautifully made, and the sales associates are generally very friendly and accommodating.
P. S. I agree with another reviewer who mentioned that the clothing at LOFT has gone downhill. What’s with all the shapeless, polyester, maternity-​looking blouses and tops here? Why no flattering darting or seams? And why are all the work trousers now «skinny» (so you look like you’re wearing leggings)? Does any normal woman who isn’t in her early 20s or stick-​thin actually wear «skinny» work trousers?

I pop in this shop regularly as its close to home, but after my last experience I’ll keep walking past. They are never much for greeting you which I have experienced several times now.
I have had to ask them to start a room after I had several pieces I had collected.
Last time I went in for a birthday present for a friend. Specifically on ⁶⁄₂₂ around 5:00pm, (manager take note) No greeting this time, I asked them if they had any gift boxes, they said yes. When I had my purchase selected not 5 minutes later, the same girl did not ask me if I would like the box, a little test, on auto pilot, yup. Then I was handed a big gift box, I asked for something smaller, she did not have one, then I asked for tissue paper, and the other girl actually chuckled and said «oh we have not had any for a long time». Um, why is that funny?
Not even a «I’m sorry we ran out»

I hate to have to write a bad review, but my experience at this store left me infuriated at the manager and I absolutely had to share. Talk about lack of professionalism!
It was mid week (very slow at retail, I know because I work in a sector of the industry) at around 7pm. I walked in because 1. I love LOFT and will say that they have great clothing even for someone in their mid twenties and 2. Because let’s face it they have great sales and these sales are pretty much going on ALL the time. Anyways, I had an email coupon that I wanted to use so I asked the sales person if I could use the $ 25 off my purchase coupon on top of the 40% sale they were having. She told me yes so I went to try on a few pieces.
Here is where it gets interesting:
Upon trying on my clothes I go up to the register with the pieces I want to purchase. There is a sweet girl standing at the register and the manager and another associate are standing directly behind her talking amongst each other. The girl at the register does her typical lingo «would you like to open a loft card bla bla» the corporate spiel was on point except I could tell that she was very uncomfortable and nervous. As she does her «register presentation» which I know most corporate companies require, I notice the manager and associate snickering amongst each other and laughing. They were gossiping about this poor girl! Or maybe it was about me? Who knows, who cares, but it made both this girl at the register feel uncomfortable and me as a customer.
The girl continues to ring me out as the manager and other associate walk away from behind the register. I notice there is a price discrepancy (every item I picked out did not ring up as 40% off as I thought). I ask the sweet girl at the register about this and she explains to me that only CERTAIN items in the store are 40% off, not all, and she points to the signs showing me around the store. No problem at all! I tell the girl at the register that I am sorry but I would rather wait for those items to go on sale (because I know they will have one within a week, sorry Loft). I kindly tell her that I will certainly be back and apologize for the confusion.
Here’s the kicker:
The store was silent while I was having this discussion with the girl at the register (because as I mentioned it was slow that day). As I’m turning around to leave the register I hear the other associate and manager laughing and the associate (in a mean girl kind of way) scoffs and says to the manager «hah she thought the whole store was 40% off» and laughs. This was out loud! I could have really gone on a frenzy… who does that in front of a customer? But I didn’t. Instead I walked out and fumed.
Really? Is it uncommon for your entire store to be 40% off? Because as far as I know you send out daily emails of this sale and that sale. Doesn’t seem too far fetched to me!
Anyways…point here is not sale or no sale. Point is that the management is SO poor and the customer service is God awful! This is the closest loft to my home but I refuse to go back and give that particular store my business. Their corporate really needs to be alerted.

Loft moved ages ago to the other side of the Villa Marina Marketplace. They are now next to West Marine and Sees Candies.
The store is still great and the employees here are all pretty friendly. There must be a lot of people my size who shop here. Or not a lot of people who are my size because they had tons of Size Small and Extra Smalls but not too many Large or Extra large clothes. LOL :)

Rebecca is the ONE! I cannot express the level of professionalism she displayed and her customer service was outstanding.
This week I needed a few things, let’s be honest a lot, to get my ‘look’ together.
Business meetings, family events and what not, Rebecca made sure I was covered.
I have NEVER considered the ‘Julie pant’ but Rebecca told me to give it a go! I have hips and it is difficult to find pants that fit in the waist, butt and thighs that don’t look tacky. She KNEW!!! And now I do too! I wear Julie’s.
She was fun and friendly! Working with her was like having a good friend along with me. I trust her eye and style sense. Shoot! She looked awesome herself. I kept thinking, if Jacki O was still here in the 21^st Century she would be working a style something that Rebecca was displaying.
I wish I could have tipped her! Looking back at this week I felt SO put together that I know my self confidence helped me in all the events I had. Praise REBECCA!!!

So if I was basing this on the clothes alone I would rate a five star X 10! I love the clothes at loft… but this particular store always seems to have a sale sign in the window but never have the sale… last time I went it said get an extra 60 off clearance… no fine print visable (unless it was written anywhere but the window) …I picked out two clearance dresses and just thought I would double check before I tried them on and they said no not off that clearance stuff… I just shook my head… put the dresses back and walked out… e customer service left a lot to be desired! I will stick to the loft outlets in camarillo… always better deals and service!

The store is clean and well stocked. I’m usually pretty easy going when it comes to service, but I’ve been here a couple times and the service is pretty bad (no one at the register both times, wasn’t checked on in the fitting room…). Lots of chatting and not much help.

I have to say that my one star rating is based on my non-​shopping experience at this store as opposed to retail therapy, which I was very much looking forward to.
I recently moved to Marina del Rey and I looked up the nearest Loft store and whatdaya know there is one a few block away from me. I searched the hours of operation and there it is on the website, clear as day — Tuesady 10am-​9pm. So I show up at 8:15ish and there is store is closed! No one inside, lights are dim and the door is locked!
I guess that I’ll just stick to the online shopping or visit a store closer to work. But, needless to say, I was very disappointed.

I totally agree with all the one star reviews. Customer service sucks!!! They are never willing to help, even when you have your arms full of clothes to try on.

I usually stick to reviewing restaurants but am going to make an exception for this store. While I have loved the LOFT in the past, the more recent present has been completely lackluster. At this particular location the only time I have ever been greeted is while I’m walking out the door. Third times the charm. I’ll take my cue. Never going back to this location. slow clapping out…

I used to shop at ATL often– the old location. Nice mix of work styles as well as fun casual pieces. The staff and management were super friendly without being pushy.
A lot has changed since then. Styles are boring and too «matchy matchy». Not once on the dozen or so times I’ve popped in has anyone said barely hello.
Tip–
Get some new buyers and hire people who enjoy working with the public.

I love coming to the Loft. I’m 36 years old and at that awkward stage where I am too old to shop at Forever 21 and I’m too young for Chicos. ATL has great options for me that are age appropriate.
I admit that the store could rotate stock a little more but then again, maybe I just need to shop here a little less!
The clothes are a good quality that lasts for years. The styles are timeless but you can always find the latest trends as well. The only thing I can’t buy here are pants. For whatever reason, I have never found a pair pants that fit me well at the Loft. For that, I go to Express!

The girls who work there are unfailingly nice, the selection is pretty good for the size of the store (better than the one in Manhattan Beach), and there is always a great sale rack. Loft offers great basics (think of it as a good alternative to somewhere in between Gap and Banana Republic), and has a decent variety of petite clothing, which is nice. If they don’t have your size, they will call other stores in the area for you.

Is it just me, or has the quality of Loft clothing gone downhill?
Now I’ve worked in the fashion industry, so I know allot about style, cut and fabric. So here’s my take, ladies… too many ruffly things, too many polyester wimpy fabrics and just plain dull design and frumpy fit. This is Los Angeles… and we women want beautiful clothes with a creative edge. Try harder Ann!

This LOFT is located in the amazing Villa Marina Marketplace — you can hit the bank, post office, grocery store, grab a little lunch at CPK or Mendocino Farms, AND get a little shopping in at the nearby boutiques, LOFT, and BCBG while you’re at it… HEAVEN.
I really like LOFT’s concept — Ann Taylor’s more casual sister. I wouldn’t call their style «trendy,» but there are on-​trend pieces that you could easily work into your wardrobe without looking like you’re trying too hard.
The staff here is super friendly and nice (they helped me track down a pair of shorts in my size and had them sent to me). The store is bright and spacious. A very pleasant shopping experience.
Only con is the parking situation — there is a MASSIVE lot, but can get quite crowded during peak lunch hours.

Spent some good $$$ here the other day during their after-​xmas sale. They have a pretty big space with a lot of petite wear items. The small sizes seem to run out the quickest though. I think this store stocks a lot of large sizes too — up to a 16 — when other stores only stock up to a size ¹²⁄₁₄.
Just a note though — ATL down-​marks their sizes (if you normally wear a size 6 pants, you’re a size 4 ATL). Took a while to figure out since I didn’t know they did that until I tried a couple of items on and wondering why they fit all weird and had to choose the smaller size.
The service was pretty good except one lady gave attitude and didn’t want to help me find an item. It’s ok though, I went to the other ladies and they totally made up for it.
The sales rack is at the back and I’ve always managed to find some good items there.
Parking is free at the back of the mall.
