Too bad I can’t give Dr Colbert 10 stars. Yesterday, he repaired meniscus tear in rt knee. I was walking right away. Rested overnight with ice but today I have no pain whatsoever. I haven’t even taken any pain meds. Last year, he repaired a rotator cuff tear. Minimal pain, tossed the sling on the third day, finished 6 wks of PT with a score of 150%, better than before the tear! Dr Colbert is a very nice man, confident, super talented surgeon, and I can’t say enough about him and his competent and friendly staff. His practice manager, Fay, is the most empathetic, caring person especially when you need a person like her the most. One more special note… I had put off my annual mammogram for two years but when he sent me for the MRI on my knee, he suggested I have both procedures together. The radiologist found a tiny cancer. It was very early, I had lumpectomy followed by radiation with a 99% long term survival prognosis. So, Dr Colbert indirectly saved my life. He’s my hero!

He is a Great doctor with much experience and great bed side manner. Dr. Colbert was Personable, reassuring and Knowledgeable when doing my Knee surgery. I was very nervous before and after the surgery but he reassured me that everything would be great. Dr. Colbert has a wonderful STAFF along with him being a great Doctor. The Staff took time to explain every step I would be taking in my recovery, they even went the extra mile to make sure my Physical Therapist was treating me the correct way. Very Highly Recommend******

I am a 62 year old man. Extremely active with work heavy weight training and distance walking.
I’ve had knee and shoulder issues for years. After much research on different knee replacement manufacturers and questioning over 30 people regarding expectations and true results, I decided to move forward. I remembered my friend for 20 + years Dr. J Randall Davis, who since passed away, always referred knee replacements to Dr Colbert.
I met with Dr Colbert, the first appointment, I brought with me MRI results. He in turn did simple X-​rays that actually showed in greater detail with less complexity the bone on bone conditions of both of my knees. I have had multiple surgeries over the last few years.
Dr Colbert is highly skilled and cares deeply. He expressed great concern about my understanding of the procedure and expectations that I had. I have a construction company which requires me to crawl around on my knees. The post-​op results really depend on dedication to P.T. Many people that I spoke with regarding results achieved indicated that mobility and normal agility was good enough for them. I needed back to normal.
Really gifted people can present themselves a little reserved. I noticed that Dr. Colbert does not tease easily. He is very focused on the task. His focus is the difference between okay results and a amazing outcome. My surgery was 2÷15÷16. I climb 39 stairs in my condo daily.
Some reviews I read about Dr. Colbert are unfair. Office wait times, bedside manor and hand holding should be the least on the list of concerns. Results top my list. He is available if you need him. I called the service after hours and within 2 minutes I was talking with him. He gives instructions prior too and post-​op. He has other patients not just you.

Had surgery on my left shoulder Jan.12 2016. Dr Jeffrey Colbert of M D Rey, did a fantastic job. I was back to my activities in 6 weeks .
Almost as good as new in 8 weeks .
My last right shoulder surgery from another Dr. took a year to recover .
Both good Dr. s, but Dr. Colbert did a better job .
I highly recommend Dr. C & his wonderful & friendly staff .

He should not have suggested taking a scope to my knee after he saw the xrays and MRI. It was a waste and did me no service. His office coordinator should never tell patients how quickly they will recover or how she never needed pain relievers after her multiple surgeries. Bad customer service.

I recently broke my shoulder. Dr. Colbert provided excellent care and performed needed surgery to repair the shoulder. He followed through and went out of his way to accomodate the surgery in timely manner even though he had a very tight schedule. I am very grateful for his skillfull and compassionate care.

I have competed in long distance triathlons for years as well as work related injuries and Dr. Colbert, hands down, is the real deal. He has treated me for various injuries sustained from training including putting my shoulder back together after being struck by a car while riding my bike. He not only takes time to explain your situation but he sincerely cares. I depend on experience, talent and competency. His «bedside manner» is outstanding. Such competent doctors don’t always have the luxury to hold conferences with individuals. His «bedside manner» is outstanding. Most importantly, his staff knows how to deal with insurance.

I’ve been a patient of Dr Jeffrey Colbert for several years. Mostly minor things — sprains, strains and the like.
All that changed in April when I had full knee replacement surgery. It could not have gone better! I am thrilled with the results. Dr. Colbert did an excellent job.
Prior to the surgery I was apprehensive about most of it (General anesthesia, the hospital stay, my insurance, recovery, everything) everything except for Dr. Colbert. I was always 100% confident in his skills and abilities and he did not let me down.
He is a pleasant, easy-​going man and a terrific orthopedic surgeon.
The longest I waited for any appt was 15 mins. His staff is very professional. They validate parking. I don’t understand how anyone could have a negative review of him or his office.
I cannot recommend him enough.

Very quick to the point and matter of fact, but he did a great job fixing my arm when I broke it. His staff is friendly and professional and I would highly recommend him! He even took my Covered California Blue Shield Insurance!

Great experience with Dr Colbert. He treated me executional well and is 100% competent. His staff Fay and Daisy were wonderful. I had surgery on my ankle. Everything went through without a hitch. I would trust him again to do surgery on my self and my family. Do not hesitate to be seen by him. This is serious business and Dr Colbert is the best!! Also remember it is your attitude that matters as well. So be positive and you will have a positive experience.

Dr Colbert was professional but his staff, apart from the D.I.S.C. people, are not. Looking elsewhere

Great experience today. Had excruciating sudden knee pain out of the blue. had a horrible time finding an orthopedic doc who took my insurance as I did not pick the right plan and am stuck with it until I can change plans. I lucked out. Dr Colbert was a provider under Covered California AND he is marvelous! A stroke of luck!
He was very smart, clear, respectful, kind, explained the situation, and did not try to milk any further procedures as my injury will go away with some exercises he gave me to do. He couldn’t have been wiser or more helpful! And the entire staff from the first phone call I made to my last goodbye was as gracious as can be and incredibly efficient! No long waits, no rudeness! They treat everyone with earnest friendliness. I felt everyone there actually cares about people!

Should be a ZERO. Worst doctor ever. Long waits even with an appointment (gave him the benefit of the doubt the first time then the next it was the same), could care less about his patients. No compassion, such an asshole.

He is a ‘doctor’s doctor. I had NO WAITING! I didn’t even get a chance to sit down! He made the diagnosis, when my other HMO doctor missed it. He spent alot of TIME with me. Unbelievable. He does alot of sports, and is very very familiar with all sport injuries. The biggest plus, is he’s not only got a great bedside manner, but he’s great with ‘female’ patients. I should know, i’m one!

I saw Dr. Colbert to ask for knee replacement surgery. I started to try to find a Dr. to do it ten years ago and through the years I was told that I couldn’t do it because there was greater chance of infection, the surgery was difficult to do with the possibility of many complications and because recovery would take a very long time. They simply told me to lose 100 pounds and come back. No other treatment. I needed a total knee replacement due to osteoarthritis.
Dr. Colbert said I needed the replacement and that it would be good if I could lose 50 pounds but that he could do it anyway if I couldn’t lose the weight.
He did the surgery when I wanted it scheduled. I was told recovery would take 6 months. I am walking without pain after 8 sessions of physical therapy. Surgery; June 24, 2014. No more pain since mid August. When He saw that the rehabilitation Center where I stayed for 2 ½ weeks did not do a good job at rehabilitation he told me that it was up to me to work hard at physical therapy at the clinic after I got back home. He was emphatic about this and it scared me but that is exactly what I needed to do.
‘Never had to wait to see him for more than 15 minutes. Staff was exceptionally efficient and polite. No he didn’t contact me right after surgery but I have not had a surgeon do that ever. They wait until you come into your first appointment unless you call to say there is a problem. Fay (not Faith) his assistant answered several of my calls to ask questions in a timely manner.
Dr. Colbert is now going to do my shoulder which another surgeon messed up two years ago. DON“t see Dr. Gabriel.
Dr. Colbert also straighteded out my leg which was damaged by the long wait to have surgery. This surgery has opened up a whole new chapter in my life. I am working hard to regain strength in order to get back to doing all the things I had to let go of. Kudos to you Doc.

I’ll withhold the 5^th star until I’m done with treatment — but so far this has been a great experience. I was seen the day I called (in intense knee pain); did not wait long; staff was courteous, professional and downright nice. They were able to navigate the hurdles of my insurance and schedule an MRI the next day. I heard that Dr. Colbert is the doctor that other doctors go to, so that is enough recommendation for me… and I can’t understand the negative reviews on this site — but of course anyone can have a had day, run behind schedule etc. I’m going for a medical opinion and treatment and feel I am in great hands.

When I fractured my wrist, I had no hesitation seeing Dr. Colbert. I had been a patient of his in 2010 after my car accident. He came highly recommended from a trusted friend. I know that wrist fractures/​surgery can be complicated and I had broken 7 seven bones. Dr. Colbert and his staff are professional, courteous, knowledgeable and caring. I don’t understand why people say they had a bad experience. My thought would only be that their situation is not really how they describe it. I had a problem with my insurance as I had just signed up for this particular plan. His staff is working with me while I straighten this mess out. They want to be able to bill my insurance company and not have a huge out of pocket expense. I grew up in a medical family so I am no stranger to doctors. Sometimes surgeons are a little quirky and socially maladjusted. Dr. Colbert is not. I check out my doctors. I’m impressed with this. On the day of my surgery he came in to say good morning. He was wearing a mint green shirt. Not only is his bio impressive, but the small things like a huge smile and a mint green shirt. Thank you Dr. Colbert. You are an artist and a gentleman.

We went in with a very low expectation based on these Unilocal reviews. The staff was quite pleasant and at-​tentative. Doctor was friendly and nice and gave us the information we needed. My sense in reading these reviews, is 1) get your appointment in the morning before the office gets behind 2) use this office as a preliminary opinion and 3) get a second opinion if it’s something serious. Othewise, this is a very convenient and pleasant office.

Had to make an appointment for the same day, and as soon as I got in and filled out my paperwork they called my name. Not sure about the long waits for others but at least I had a good experience.

I highly recommend Dr. Colbert, at least for the successful knee surgery he performed on me.
Upon one visit, Dr. Colbert identified that I had a piece of torn cartilage that was causing the frequent pain in my knee. He was kind and friendly, and it did not take long in his waiting room.
The surgery he performed on my knee had me up and walking (well, limping) around within 2 days, and back to normal within just over a month. He had a follow-​up appointment along with the prescription for exercise and one or two trips in for physical therapy for the knee.
It has been many years since I’ve seen him, but considering how easy and successful it all went, I believe he deserves praise for his work.
