Dr. Patel is one of the nicest, most knowledgeable dentists I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet. He saw me as an emergency patient on the weekend and spent considerable time informing me about my options for treatment. He made sure that my immediate concerns were addressed and even gave me a rose for Mother’s Day. If you’re looking for a great dental care, I recommend him highly.

My experience over the last year with Whitlock Dental has been excellent. The staff here is very knowledgeable and helpful. Whether it’s cleaning, fillings, or extraction, Dr. Patel and Dr. Amy have assured I keep my mouth in good health. I highly recommend this office for any dental work or cleaning you may need!

Was going to wait until I went back to NY to see my usual dentist but so glad I have them a try! My teeth feel so clean and got so much information then I’d usual get from a dentist.

This is an incredible group of professionals. When we came in with my elderly Mother, we were greeted like family. Dr Patel came out to introduce himself to Daddy and I. As we wait for her procedure, we have water, coffee, TV, a beautiful aquarium and more that enhances our experience. Dr. Patel and his team are a 5 Star team!

Dr. Patel is a great dentist. He took the time to explain what was going on and give me options regarding treatment. The office staff is very friendly and professional.

As someone who genuinely has a fear of the dentist, and not just a «i don’t like to go» but a more legitimate; panic attacks, crying, anxiety type of reaction. I had avoided much needed dental work for over a decade. Needless to say it caught up with me. I finally had decided to start the process. Initially I went to another dentist and had a rather negative experience (which certainly didn’t help with my condition. Well, one Saturday morning I woke up in immense pain and with a swollen face. I ended up going to Whitlock Avenue dental purely because they were open on the weekend and could get me in quickly. I was freaking out a bit and very nervous about everything surrounding the appointment and the unknown. What a pleasant surprise. I couldn’t say enough nice things about the staff AND Dr. Patel. It was one patient, understanding, kind and pleasant interaction after another. It really changed my mindset, and I wont say that it made it all easy for me but the doctor said that his goal was to get me to like coming to the dentist again. What a staff! They are truly making this possible for me to take care of what has been long needed, without any judgment and full of support and understanding. I truly can’t say enough good things about them. I would recommend that anyone and everyone check them out.

I recently moved to the Kennesaw area and was looking for a new
dentist. As I was driving I found a billboard for Whitlock dental. They were
advertising that all new patients would receive a free whitening kit. So
since I am a heavy coffee consumer you can see why that enticed me.
Once I arrived I was greeted by a friendly receptionist who asked me
to fill out paper work. Even though I already gave them all the
information over the phone but I thought hey they might just want to
double check. Shortly after handing in the forms they called me
back. The hygienist asked me if I was having any problems and I told
her that my gums have started to bleed and then she ran a test and
told me that I needed a deep cleaning. During the test with her hands
in my mouth she and the financial officer were complaining about Dr.
Patel. I understand that I’m young, but I’m also a professional and
that’s just bad business. Dr. Patel came into my room shortly after
and examined me. He asked if I have ever received an oral cancer
screening. I replied no because I’m 22 and if you do your research
it’s unlikely for a young non-​smoker to have oral cancer. Dr. Patel
was very adamant about doing the testing. He was saying that every
patient should get the test done once a year. I agreed to the testing
especially since my cousin died of oral cancer. Dr. Patel uses a
device called a Velscope. The tool lights up your mouth and healthy
cells will turn a bight green color while cell that are mutating will
turn black. When doing this test I had a spot that turned black. While
having no blisters or lesions he dismissed it and told me that it’s
most likely a food burn. So either I have cancer or a food burn, well
Okay. I was billed the entire cost of the oral cancer testing. I thought it
was odd because it’s a preventative and supposedly done yearly but my insurance
informed me that I was incorrect. They also informed me that Dr. Patel
didn’t file the claim under my insurance. As most of you guys know
that your insurance has a deductible and out of pocket expensive.
Every time you visit the doctor you pay your coinsurance
which is typically 20% and then part of your deductible. So basically
the dentist office is scamming and I should have had $ 60 deducted
from my deductible. Well needless to say I returned two weeks later to
have my cancerous/​food burn spot checked out. After waiting in the
office for more than an hour I was called back. The spot was still
there, So Dr. Patel referred me to a specialist. He also stated that
he would send my medical information to the specialist and of course
that did not happen. The specialist confirmed that this was a waste of
time and he has no reason to do a biopsy. All it took was a glance in
my mouth. In the end I wasted time and money going to this dentist and
I never received my free whitening

Just came back due to the need of a root canal. Once again, the experience here is so much better than anywhere I’ve been. They make sure you are not in pain. You feel so comfortable during the procedures and after. I doubt I could go anywhere else after visiting a dentist who makes your experience almost pain free.

I had a coupon to get a exam, x-​ray, and cleaning for $ 79 (see office for details). I called the office ahead of time to confirm that a cleaning would be part of the $ 79 deal. The receptionist assured me that it was included. I booked a Saturday appointment for convenience in the mid part of July 2014. I arrived 10 minutes early and waited for 50 minutes until I was seen. I paid the receptionist $ 79 after filling out my paperwork. Upon being seen the receptionist took x-​rays of my mouth. Next, the dental assistant examined my teeth to give each tooth a rating/​number to how healthy it was. After the dental assistant was through the receptionist came back in to discuss with me why I would need a deep cleaning for slightly over $ 1000. She prompted me to make a payment that day to get started. I explained to her that I was not able to pay that kind of money at this time. Hence, being the whole reason I am using a coupon to get a cleaning, and no dental insurance. She then walked out and came back a few minutes later. At this time she told me that I was free to go. I asked so I’m not even going to get my basic cleaning? She said I wasn’t eligible for the offer since I needed a deep cleaning at over $ 1000. I left out of there very upset, only to be called about 10 minutes later by the receptionist saying she talked to the dentist and he agreed to make an exception to still clean my teeth anyways. I ended up going back because I still needed my teeth cleaned and waited another 20 minutes. (While I was waiting there was another man with a $ 79 coupon telling the receptionist that he changed his mind, LUCKY FOR HIM). Once taken to the back I sat for about a 10 minute basic cleaning. The dentist did come out and try to rectify the incident. I told him that I had called prior to confirm the price and that the basic cleaning would be included, as the receptionist had assured me. They assured me that they wanted me to come back for the deep cleaning. It was not a comfortable experience,
*** I felt like I had been conned the second I was told to leave because I was done, without receiving the cleaning. Needless to say, I just received a bill for $ 79 from Whitlock Avenue Dental stating that I have within 7 days to pay it. I cannot believe this place has the audacity to make another mistake and try to bill me after I have already paid! i will not be back here!

In my search this year for a new dentist, I never in my wildest dreams thought that I would find a team as professional as Dr. Patel and his staff. He takes dentistry to a new level!!!
