History

Established in 2014.

The planning for Marietta Local started back in 2008. My wife, Sophia and I, started looking for the right location at that time. We knew we wanted to be located on Historic Marietta Square, because of the rich history, and the number of Tourist that visit the Square on an annual basis. In addition, the lure for Local’s and Tourist to the wonderful antique shops like «Antiques on the Square featuring Sweet Melissa Records» is a huge draw.

In the summer of 2013, we found the spot we had been looking for, 148 Roswell Street, on the corner of Roswell Street and Atlanta Street. A building that was built in 1906. we spent 8 months renovating the space, returning it to it’s original, period correct character, and adding a beautiful, open kitchen. The building is was originally a hardware and feed store. I have to say that everyone that enters The Marietta Local is amazed at how beautiful and original the reclaimed space is. Come see for yourself. While you’re here, enjoy a great meal
