Sound Sensations

Would not use them again… They installed a new car radio, bluetooth mic, backup camera, and XM radio in our SUV. Nothing but continual problems for over a year… I would not use this vendor again personally…

So we had to come here for work related stuff that I can’t discuss.
With that said. If I had my car in ATL, this would be the place I would come to for a quote. There is many selections to choose from, all kind of subwoofer, speakers, review mirrors with tv’s, etc.
I don’t know much about this stuff, so if it’s a little general for you car junkies just come in and check it out.

I have been going to this place for years. It’s been wonderful service until today. I dropped my car off to get an automatic starter for my wife’s birthday. I had to get a ride to work after I dropped my car off with them and make arrangements to get home and have the car picked up. Originally it was supposed to be ready at 1pm. When I got there they changed it to 4:30 pm and said they would call me when it’s ready. I called at 4:45 and was put on hold for a while. They then said it should be ready today. I informed them that I need my car back and they need to be sure either way. They called me back and said it’s ready and to send someone to get it. 45 minutes later my brother texted me and Informed me that he was there and there is a problem. I talked to them and they said the good news is that I can have my car but the bad news is it isn’t ready. Apparently, staying after there close time to finish a job isn’t important. In fact they tried to tell me that they put everything on and took it off!!! Lol seriously!’ Come on !! After going there 20 years… Three remote starters, 4 stereos, several tinted windows… I have to say I’m not going back. I can’t stand to have my time wasted and lied to! Did I mention I actually paid in full with cash when o dropped it off? Smh that’s terrible service!

Staff is knowledgeable and helpful. They did a great job. I am very pleased with my new stereo system.

These guys outfitted my 2011 BMW 135i the other week and I get more impressed with the way it sounds on each drive. They completely redid my entire audio system and I could not be more happy with the results. Andrew in particular was outstanding in knowledge, customer service, patience, and most of all hooking it up with an amazing system. Everyone was great as Andrew and also a special mention to the guy whose name I didn’t catch but took me through the ins and outs when I first sat in my car. Thanks guys — Highly recommend you try these guys before anyone else.

Researched a lot of other vendors before deciding on SS and was very pleased with my decision.
Bought a head unit and had a sub/​amp i already owned installed and must say everything went as expected and sounds great! The staff was incredibly busy being a Saturday afternoon but when i picked up my vehicle the sales associate, Erick, took the time to talk me through features of the new stereo and show me a couple cool things about it. I genuinely felt like he was waiting to make sure i was satisfied before running back to work. Great service!
Also, install was clean, no surprises, cost was exactly what i expected. Couldn’t be happier!
They made the experience painless and the staff is great! If i do any more projects ill be definitely going back there.

I have to hand it to Brian and the pros at Sound Sensations yet again.
Last year I had a full system with Audison components for the front stage, Hertz coaxials for the back doors, and a JL sub all powered by a Alpine 5 channel amp. The install was beyond professional and the end product is the best car system I’ve ever heard. Brian was a joy to work with as always, and never tried to upsell me on anything unnecessary or that I didn’t want. His recommendations were spot-​on, and they even special ordered me a specific subwoofer enclosure that I had my eye on. The install by Clayton was unbelievably clean. He treated my car with the utmost care and respect and everything looked as if it had come installed from the factory.
Recently, I sent my coworker to Brian to have a sub and amp integrated into the factory stereo set up in his car, and I couldn’t believe how good the new low-​end blended with his factory speakers. My friend was highly impressed with the quality of the install as the installer went out of his way to tap the head unit for a better signal and run the wiring the length of the car instead of just tapping the rear speakers. I gotta hand it to these guys yet again, and this once again reinforces why I will never take my car anywhere else for professional audio work.

I called because I blew the front speakers in my truck. I was repeatedly told there is no way I could have blown them. I blew the speakers, need new ones, don’t know what else to tell you. They hung up on me.

I’m so stoked with my audio system now! My 2007 Infiniti G35 came with the stock Bose system, which is great, but I always felt like I needed more bass. Last year I bought a sub box that would fit into the side of the trunk without taking up extra space. With a trunk that has instructions on how to fit 2 golf bags inside of it, space is essential. I knew Sound Sensations through talks among the car community (plus Nelson, who operates behind Sound Sensations, is the best tint guy in the city) so I decided to finally make the trip and get a quote. Brian was extremely helpful. I know nothing about audio and which amp should go with which sub. He was able to point me in the right direction; he gave me sub recommendations that would fit flush in my box, and amps that would go near the spare tire, out of the way. Brian advised me on the best system for my car, understanding that I wasn’t looking for massive amounts of bass, but just a little bit more for my music. He gave me a quote and his card, saying he would even price match… and did just that! I found competitive prices online that Brian was able to match. He instructed me on exactly what needed to be done to the car and an appointment was made. Brian made sure to follow up and make sure I was still coming for the appointment, and called during the appointment to give me updates. Once everything was done, he gave me tips on extending the life of my system, as well as showing me how everything was now working properly. It’s so great that Sound Sensations was able to finally fix the wiring issues from my previous installation! BE AWARE: you get what you pay for. I previously tried to save some money with my head unit installation and ended up with wiring issues and a small tear in my dash. Sound Sensations are professionals that know what they are doing, so it is worth the extra money. I love my set up now and it’s perfect for that extra oomph that this car needed. Highly recommend!

I called in to Sound Sensation and was quoted $ 370 for a car alarm and remote starter by Andrew. Let me say that I specifically asked for a «car alarm and remote starter». I immediately made the appointment (paying a $ 50 deposit) as I called five other local locations and I was quoted between $ 410 through $ 450.
My reason for writing this review is not to badger anyone but the customer service that I received at Sound Sensation was horrendous. As a first time customer I felt as if they did not care about the service that they provided. I was advised by another customer that this company has been in business for a very long time and I assume that this is why they do not care about customer service as their longevity has overshadowed the reason for them being there. Andrew not only treated me with horrible customer service but there were two other customers that I observed were being treated in the same manner. He must be the owner’s son as this would never be allowed in another customer service environment. I will say THANK YOU to Patrick as he was patient and did exactly what he said he could do. He opened his calendar, explained the holiday situation helped create a solution to the problem without raising his voice. Needless to say I will never visit this location for any of my vehicle needs again. I spent approximately $ 460 total including a $ 29.99 warranty. (Hopefully, I won’t have to use it). My suggestion is if you are looking for a sound system or anything dealing with your vehicle, you look for other avenues and this long-​term business has forgotten what customer service is. Here are a few that are extremely close to this location: Megamaxx, Joker Audio, Best Buy, Monster Customs, Audio Trix etc.

Believe the hype, these guys know what they are doing and won’t rip you off. My wife took our 11 year old conversion van in that was draining the battery inexplicably and the TV didn’t work anymore. The local NTW couldn’t even tell there was a draw on the battery and I was cringing thinking about how much a new TV is. Turned out a door pin was bent and caused the inside light to stay on and they found some loose wires affecting the TV. 3 hours and a little over $ 100. Thanks guys!

There’s not enough words I can say that can express how great of a staff this is which can only be matched by the work they do. You have to see this for yourself. Put your car in their hands and dream big. They’ll make it come true.
I’ve been wanting an iPad in my dash for sometime now, did the measurements and brought it in. Their designs matched up to my expectations and more. Everything was integrated perfectly per my specifications and it looks fantastic. It’s almost like the car came built like it. Worried about missing something? Trust me they got you covered. Josh is a miracle worker haha. I highly recommend the Sound Sensation staff to all mine and your future interior car customization needs.

I’ve taken my cars to Sound Sensations on three separate occasions so far. So I guess I am qualified to rate these guys objectively? Here are the details from my three visits.
The first time I went over was to get Sound Sensations to install a stereo cable from the head-​unit of my VW to the BT-​unit under the passenger seat (to enable BT music streaming) PLUS to have an OEM backup camera installed [I had already bought all the required parts, and just needed help with labor]. Jim Ellis VW wanted nearly $ 800 for the job, and they said it still might not work at the end of the day. Sound Sensations got it done in under 2 hours, at a fraction of the cost. A+
My second visit was to have a new head-​unit installed on my wife’s Highlander [I had already purchased the new head-​unit elsewhere]. I knew this was a complicated install, so the price didn’t feel like a bargain. However, Sound Sensations took almost twice as long to complete the install. They were extremely apologetic about wasting my time, and to make up for this, they give me a pretty decent discount on my bill. A–
My third visit — about two weeks ago — was to have new speakers installed on my VW [once again I had bought the parts elsewhere; this was a weekend project that never got done]. When I got there, Brian (one of the very knowledgeable folks’ at Sound Sensations) took a look at my existing setup, and my new speakers, and told me that the speakers would sound much worse than the ones already in my car. I know a decent bit about car audio, so I had quite a few questions. Brian was able to answer each one with quite a bit of detail. Net, net, I decided not to install the speakers on Brian’s recommendation; and instead, ended up returning the speakers for a full refund. The take-​away here is that Sound Sensations preferred not installing crappy speakers and not making any money over installing crappy speakers and making a quick buck. That’s really admirable in my opinion. A+
So the bottom-​line is — Sound Sensations is a great shop, with pretty knowledgeable people, who will get the job done right the first time. I cant speak to their equipment pricing, but their labor is very competitively priced. Ask for Brian!

Displays are not in working order, the prices you see on line are not a true reflection of what you find in the store displayed, they tried to upsell me so much I just left. How do you go from charging 150.00 to magically 800.00 on installation cost??? The person talking with me had no knowledge of porsche vehicles. Stay away! I went somewhere else and the installation of my navigation went seamless and guess what… they charged a respectable price of 150.00.

Had my new Panamera tinted here after a very bad experience at MeggaMaxx (down the street) with my previous Panamera. These guys are VERY professional and knowledgeable. I highly recommend them and will trust them with any future vehicle I need tinted.

The service here is incredible. There was an issue with my radio during the installation, but Mark and Jamie were quick to let me know and provided me with different options to correct the problem. After the installation was completed, the technician Chris showed me the radio and ran me through how everything worked and how to use it. These guys go above and beyond for their customers and I’ll definitely be back for the great service.

After dealing with two unreliable speaker installation specialists, we ended up lucking out with Sound Sensations. They’re responsive, punctual, smart and great with tailoring a setup to your needs!

Regular selection, and helpful staff. But I ended up not needing the head unit I bought. Turns out the don’t do refunds, not even on unopened items. So now I’ve got a head unit I don’t need. Guess its off to eBay after this. Never stopping here again. Plenty of other places — like
for example.

I had a touchscreen navigation and XM installed in my previous car at a different location and it was botched. Rather than bring it back to an unreliable place, I brought it to Sound Sensations for a proper installation and they had it working flawlessly when they were done.
I had to wait a really long time, but it was worth it. An older gentleman, who may have been an owner, gave me a quick tour of the place and showed me a few of the competition cars they had while I waited as well. It was appreciated and it was quality work judging by my brief experience with them.
