So disorganized, which leads to wasting time. Looks like I’m not the only one who had a disorganized experience.
I made an appointment to get contact lenses for the first time, which I clarified when I made the appointment. After my eye exam, the doctor took me to the contact lens doctor and explained to him it was my first time wearing contacts and what he recommended for my contacts. They take me out to pay for my eye exam and then go back to the contacts doctor (is this normal to have 2 different doctors?) and the contacts office administrator takes a call, tells that person she can squeeze her in right now (when I’m supposed to be meeting with him) then tells me I’ll need to come back that afternoon. I have two kids under three and work full time, I can’t use my work hours for multiple appointments because your office lacks communication skills.

This place is an eye care insurance farm. I gave it another try for an annual eye exam and exact same experience. One that clearly the ownership designed for throughput. With an 8:40 am appt, I was not seem until 9:30 and at 10:00 on my fourth person and waiting in my third room. I left at 11:00. I feel bad for the people who work here. They are cogs in a wheel. That’s how you feel as a patient too. So inefficient. This must be by ownership design as it is year two of the same experience. Too many patients. Too little care for the patient experience. If you have a half day to spend for a simple eye exam then go. If not, don’t. There are simply better run experiences. For the ownership, either your greed has gotten the best of you or your systems are disappointing you. Either way. Same results.

I arrive and am told to check myself in using a computer– including entering my insurance info. I worked in insurance for years so I know I entered it correctly but I looked around the room and saw nothing but elderly people and couldn’t help but wonder how badly they all butchered check in. I had mixed feelings about it-​one hand they seemed to be cutting edge but on the other hand I chose this practice because I wanted a better friendlier experience than a big chain. That didn’t happen.
After a 20 min wait I was called by the OD assistant who started doing all of my testing. I thought hmm weird but then thought that maybe these were super easy tests. Then she did my actual vision test– the one that decides my RX. Didn’t appreciate that.
Next, I waited for 90 min for the OD to see me. I could hear them celebrating birthdays next door to me. How unprofessional! See me for the three minutes you did and then celebrate birthdays! This was my last day at work and I was well over an hour late for MY celebration! I finally had to call the office, let them know long I’ve been waiting and I expected someone to come to see me as soon as possible.
The OD finally came in and did t apologize for the ridiculous wait. He then spent 3 minutes looking at my eyes, wrote me an RX for glasses and eyed drops.
Next, I head to the optical retails side to pick out my glasses only to have them tell nether don’t take my insurance. Per my insurance company they do. Why didn’t they tell me upfront. Why did the OD take my insurance but but not the retail side? I was beyond livid at that point.
I then went to chain and got an amazing pair of coach glasses for $ 112! Should have done that from the beginning.
Moral of the story– don’t come here.

This is my first time here. I was actually a little taken aback. I scheduled an appointment for an exam for macular degeneration caused by medication I take. Bottom line is I did not receive an exam by a doctor until my eyes were dilated and he came in for 2 minutes and looked at my eyes. All the actual testing was done by the assistant, which by my book is fraud. My insurance pays for a doctor to administer my vision testing. I even asked the assistant, are you the one doing my exam and she said «It appears that way». I thought he would come and check after her or something, but nope. When I went to check out I mentioned that to the desk clerk and she tried to act like she was surprised. Oh the doctor didn’t look at you? But just kept going about her business of checking me out and charging me as if I had seen a doctor. I paid and left, but was very upset about the entire situation. Will be following up with them and my insurance company.

The visit with the eye doctor was fine, I didn’t have a wait time problem like many of the other reviewers. Afterwards I picked out frames with the help of Jodi and ordered them, 12:30 at the latest. She told me 7 – 10 days, longer than I’ve ever heard of. Thinking about the frames while I was at work, I decided to cancel the order because they weren’t exactly what I wanted.
I called them back around 4:15, spoke with Rachel and asked about canceling my order. I specifically mentioned the 20% restocking fee written on the receipt, and asked if they had started making the lenses. She said she would check and put me on hold, a few minutes later she said they had not and could cancel my order without any fee. She said the money would go back on to my credit card and she would mail me a receipt. I thanked her and thought that was it.
4:33 rolls around and my cell phone rings, it’s Jodi at the office. She wanted to confirm I was canceling my order, I said yes. She said there is a 20% restocking fee that she has to charge because they had started making the lenses. Wait, what? I said I just spoke with Rachel a few minutes ago and she said no lenses yet so no restocking fee. Jodi says she was mistaken.
How do you get that wrong? Are you making 1000s of lenses back there? Did the elves have a mix-​up at the factory and push my order to the front, right after I called to cancel?
I’m heated at this point, so I say fine. She tosses out the company policy bit and it being on the bottom of the receipt and asks if she can help me with anything else. I think you’ve done more than enough.
I had to stop by the next day to get a copy of my prescription because they did not give it to me during my initial visit. It’s not the money I’m griping about ($ 56), it’s the bait and switch. Someone is not telling the truth about those magical lenses that suddenly were being made, but I’ll never know.
Avoid like the plague.
