A terrible experience with a nasty doctor. Dr Kasik schedules numerous eye exams each hour, which causes him to rush through eye exams. I know from experience that when an eye doctor rushes through exams, he cannot give a competent and accurate eye exam. Kasik is impatient, and his attitude reflects it. I observed also that his equipment is dated, and he does not keep up with the latest technology for giving eye exams. For instance, he does not have the laser eye scanner. This piece of modern equipment enables the doctor to exam your eyes without having to dilate them and also enables the doctor to keep a digitized photo record of the eye exam. Dr Kasik does not spend enough time with his patients to give a competent eye exam, and that is exactly what happened with me. I took the prescription Kasik wrote for me to a store where I knew I could get a refund, if the glasses did not work for me. As I suspected, when the new glasses were ready, I could not see correctly through them. Everything was blurry. Kasik’s receptionist told me to return without an appointment, and Kasik would do a recheck. When I arrived at Dr Kasik’s office, he became extremely impatient with me and told me I did not know how to wear the glasses. He refused to do a recheck. I then scheduled an appointment with another eye doctor, a doctor whose reputation I carefully checked out ahead of time. Without exactly saying so, he was not pleased when I told him of my experience with Dr Kasik. This new doctor knew Kasik and did not think much of Kasik as a doctor but did not come out and say it exactly. This new doctor spent plenty of time with me and gave me an excellent eye exam. Moreover, as I suspected, Dr Kasik had written me a bad and inaccurate eye prescription. With my new prescription from a different doctor, I was finally able to have glasses made that I could see through very nicely and sharply. Based on my experience, I would warn you not to trust your eyes to Dr Kasik. I regard Kasik as a doctor that should not be writing eye prescriptions.
