So happy I found this salon! I called and got in same day. Great atmosphere and fun staff. Right when I walked in for the first time I felt like I had been there many times before. I was immediately greeted by Kalena and shortly after greeted by Ms. Carmen who took great care of me! As soon as I met Kalena she showed great interest in what I wanted to accomplish with my hair. I showed her a picture and we went from there! Great conversation and customer service the entire time. My hair came out beautiful, healthy, better than I expected and pretty much gave me life :)…she even whipped my eyebrows into shape in a matter of minutes. It was the first time I didnt have to convenience myself to like my new cut. I loved it as soon as she put that last bump in my bang! Its affordable prices are the cherry on top of this cute little shop. I highly recommend Kalena’s salon and look forward to my next visit.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this salon. I’ve been searching Atlanta for a long time looking for a stylist and after quite a few nightmares, I finally found «the one». Kalena is such a sweet and patient stylist. She’s personable and really cares about her clients’ concerns. On top of all of that, she’s professional and she can really style hair as well as care for it. My hair is so much healthier since I’ve been going to her, and everywhere I go, I get compliments on my hair. This is the first time in a long time where I really enjoy myself at the salon. She’s the type of person you can’t help but to like because she’s so friendly and funny.

3. People are down home and greet you (you don’t walk in feeling like a stranger in a room of uptight people).
4. Stylists are professional (you don’t have to worry about somebody eating food while doing your hair at the same time).
5. Pricing (prices are fair for the level of work she provides, and you don’t leave the shop feeling broke like a lot of these other shops asking for car payments); also, she is open about the price list — no guessing games about all of the add-​ons.

I feel some kind of way about my visit to this salon. First of all, Kalena was 30 minutes late. However, she was quite apologizing and she started immediately on my hair. There were a few things that I didn’t like but I will point out the most obvious.
She is a beautiful person and has a great personality… OK! I believe I was overcharged. As a first time customer you have to pay a $ 25 deposit before your visit. I don’t like giving my card info over the phone to anyone but I really needed my hair done. Anyway, so I get there, wait 30 minutes for Kalena to arrive, my hair is done… and I’m like ehhh, not what I wanted but it’ll do. From the pics online, I was expecting more style. And it was really plain, but cute. Then I go to pay, I tip her, and leave.
While driving, I realized I was overcharged. She gave me a 20% discount and I had already paid $ 25 up front and I still end up paying almost $ 100 for a wash/​style with a cut. She’s a good stylist but I feel like I didn’t get my money’s worth. Now if my hair was laid, I could deal with it.

I enjoy coming to this shop the ladies here r wonderful! I get n and get right out and get what i ask for. I been here n Ga since 93 & no one has been able to give me what i needed when it came to my hair. Thank u kalena for the wonderful and joyful experience i get when I come to ur shop. So Kalena’s Beautiful Beginnings Hair Salon is one of the BEST in Georgia… It literally is like a hidden jewel. If you don’t know about it you should. I flew into Atlanta on a Wednesday and needed my hair whipped. As you know, if you don’t make an appointment before coming to ATL you may get to a salon at 10am but you won’t leave until 7pm (walk-​ins are basically shunned upon). Well I called my friend and she had been raving about Kalena’s so she called and made me an appointment that day… yes Kalena allowed me to make a same day appointment!!! So the appointment was around 3pm, I got there at 2:50pm, Kalena greeted me, and asked me to fill out some paperwork about my hair health (and yes this is EXTREMELY important). Once I filled out the paperwork by 3:15pm I was at the shampoo bowl… there was no waiting around… she was aware that no one wants to spend their ENTIRE day at the salon. We had an in depth discussion about my hair, how long I was natural, what my daily process was, what products I used, what I should be using with the texture of my hair, and if I had any medical conditions, I mean it was an in depth hair intake. But I honestly appreciated this conversation because not many stylists will ask if you’re tender headed or if you have allergens to certain products, these questions are important and it builds rapport with your stylist. After I was shampooed, and dried, I sat under the dryer for a few minutes and then whisked away to her chair. While in her chair the attention was all on me, there was no moving from head to head. I also noticed that she cleaned her styling utensils (i.e combs) (how many times have you seen a stylist do that???) Overall, the service was fabulous! My hair was whipped and as a natural it stayed fresh for a FULL 2 weeks (usually my hair will only keep for a week, maybe a week and a half if the weather isn’t crazy)! Kalena you were awesome, I loved your energy and enthusiasm, and the care that you took with my hair. So if you are looking for a stylist in the metro Atlanta area, don’t miss out on Kalen’a Beautiful Beginnings!

I’ve been going to Kalena for about a year. A friend referred me to her. She has a great pesonality along with customer service. She’s very confident in her work and she has proven that to me. On a normal basis, you’re in & out within 2.5 hrs (depending on her capacity level). Her prices are affordable and she’s proficient in short and long hair. She did a quick weave during Christmas-​time last year and it was sooo pretty. It was a bob cut and I got sooo many compliments! I’m very picky with my hair and she knows it, so I wouldn’t refer her to no one if she wasn’t worth the try. So give her a try and you will see for yourself!
