Brazilian Wax by Andreia

My very first wax was at Brazilian Wax by Andreia — Since then, it was only Silvana that i booked with — she’s the best that Atlanta has to offer in this field! I visited this salon for over 2 years while in Atlanta and it wasn’t until i moved to DC about a year ago that i realized what a gem i had found — it’s been a long road to find someone to replace Silvana!
The salon is always so clean, has relaxing music, and a comfy reception area. The Brazilian wax, in general, is going to hurt like you’ve never experience but the hard wax that this salon uses is much better than the strips that i experienced before. Silvana always uses her hand-​held fan to help «her» feel better — yes, it sounds funny but trust me, it works! When i first started out Silvana would give me tips about what to do to make each experience more enjoyable and suggest products that they sell to help after the wax. One that i benefited from was like a serum maybe, with a green tint bottle. Of course, I’ve already forgot the name but I’m sure the staff at Andreia’s can help steer you in the right direction.

I got my first Brazilian wax here this summer and I was scared at first, but Sheila was able to calm me down and did an excellent job, too! She was nice, easy to talk to, and made me feel super comfortable about something I at first considered to be very awkward.

Lucy is the best! She clearly knows what she is doing and is very thorough. She made what is clearly not a pleasurable experience at least tolerable. Love her!

While the décor is nice and the place looks cleans one technician was horrible. Do NOT go to sheila. She is so rough when applying the wax my goodness. I went here because since my move its been to much of a hassle to go to my old place. I had a good amount hair indeed by the time I left I was bleeding. Peeing was painful and wiping was a mission. When I took a mirror down there I couldn’t believe she broke my skin so badly. I didn’t even have my skin broken my very first wax full hair and all. When she got further in by the lips it was just painful. I’m talking gripping the table arched back painful. I would ask for another person but she seemed to be the only one available. I thought well maybe since it was a few week in between my first wax let me try again with way less hair. Nope! She broke my skin again! It is very hard to heal down there due to constant wiping and such. Just don’t do. Or at the very least try another girl.

I am planning on posting this exact same review for the other Marietta location– as I have had bad experiences at both.
During the summer, I routinely get a bikini wax at Brazilian Wax by Andreia in Marietta. Three times now, I’ve gone in and said, «I’d like a bikini wax.» Once, I came out with a Brazilian because the wax specialist «accidentally spilled wax.» That one slides, everyone makes mistakes. Yesterday… final straw… someone before me didn’t put the cap on the hot wax correctly and it dumped out all over my stomach. Not only did they not offer it to me for free for dumping hot searing wax on my stomach, they tried to upcharge me.
What is most infuriating about the whole process (besides being belittled by the specialists…“are you SURE you don’t want a Brazilian?” «Why don’t you want a Brazilian?”“Next time (finger wag).you get a Brazilian.») is that EVERY time I go to pay WITHOUT fail, they try to charge me for a Brazilian. It’s not like some new girl is sitting at the front desk. She was there when I came in and asked for my BIKINI wax and was still there when I came out. I argue every time. «No, you are not going to charge me nearly $ 40 for a $ 25 job… by the way your wax specialist just botched my vagina.»
Brazilian Wax By Andreia has six locations across Atlanta and I can only speak for 2 locations in Marietta. I would not recommend them at ALL and am happy to take suggestions on places to go that take into account that this ENTIRE process is a little humiliating and uncomfortable in the first place, and will do ask you ask with your treasured lady parts.
On the good side, they do appear to be pretty clean.

I got a Brazilian wax for the first time. Karla was awesome and put my mind at ease. However it hurt like h&@!. She did a great job at making small talk and making me feel comfortable. All modesty is out the door. Lay down on your back and spread them. Strip from the waist down. I don’t know how they do it everyday. There’s more modesty at the obgyn. Needless to say, if I ever decide to get another, I’m coming here again to see Karla. The décor is nice and relaxing as well.
FYI: I didn’t know the BW included the front and back. I opted out of the back. Hehehe

Wrote a five star review about this place a while ago, but had to knock down the rating a bit. Call ahead appointments are not priority. Walk ins can be expected to wait for over an hour and the new employees seem to come in with less experience. One lady took my skin of with the wax but that’s the only horror story I have.

It was my first professional experience getting waxed down there. I was really nervous because a total stranger it going to be all up on your hooh hah. The lady I had Ty (I believe that’s how you spell her name) was really nice and comfortable to talk to. Thanks to her I left a satisfied customer.

I really, really, really hate to have to do this — but…
The last two times I’ve been here — service has been really awful.
Also — this review — and the one prior — is actually for the 1230 Powers Ferry location.
Last month, the young lady who serviced me — used strips to do my under arms. Even though I told her I had sensitive skin. And even though I told her that none of my previous techs had ever used strips.
When she was finished — I was in pain — and I thought it extremely odd that she rushed out of the room — but since it was my first time with this tech — I wasn’t sure if this was just her regular personality or what. When I got home and looked in the mirror — my arm pits were red and raw in places where my actual skin had been ripped off!
I could only assume this was because of the strips — as I had been visiting the salon for over a year and this has never happened before. After about 6 weeks — I went back — had my underarms done again — and this time — there was very little pain — but the area wasn’t smooth. It was very bumpy and dark — as though I’d shaved. And a few days later — I had a bunch of ingrown hairs.
But here’s why they actually get the one-​star. I called the salon — and asked that Andreia give me a call. And I sent 2 separate emails space about two weeks apart. It’s been right at 8 weeks now — and I haven’t heard a word — which makes me believe Andreia doesn’t really care about her customers.
The only nice thing I can say is that the place looks really lovely since the re-​model. It’s very nice and upscale looking now.
I guess I’ll be heading to Sweet Samba from here on out.

Lucy is awesome! I first came to this location in 2009. I was sad when I moved back to California and could not find a great waxing place. Now I am back in Georgia and Lucy is still here. Yay!

OUCH! Nikki was NOT gentle with my hoo-​hoo! The only reason why I went here was because my first choice was booked. I will not be back. I felt so violated! Grrrr! Besides that the energy was a little weird here.

Having just moved to GA, I thought I’d give this place a try.
Walk-in’s are welcome, I was happy to hear that as I am always unpredictable.
I was immediately helped and my wax lady was nice but a bit reserved. I have had Brazilian wax before so I knew pretty much what to expect, but for any new client, I think it would be nice if the staff was more friendly or at least fake a smile. hence make the client who is most likely scared feel much better and at ease.
The process was relatively fast, 15 mins tops. The wax, I forgot to ask if they use beeswax? but it seemed quite good quality. Pain level was minimal, for first timers it wouldn’t be the case.
Overall, I’d definitely come back just because it’s a fast in and out and my time is precious! Also it’s not even expensive. It’s close from my home. Can’t complain.

I Love Lucy!
I never thought I’d allow a total stranger to be all up in my privates without there being some medical reason. Seriously. I decided to do this last minute– and was second-​guessing myself the whole time. The walk seemed awfully long as I approached the door. All I could think of was the P A I N I would be in!
The receptionist was friendly, and she quickly introduced me to Ms. Lucy, my tech. Lucy was super nice, asked me if it was my 1^st time, and asked what I thought about the potential pain. As she poured the hot wax onto my nether region (which wasn’t so hot), I panicked and actually tried to cancel on her. (Sorry, Lucy!) I asked her to test-​strip a little area– and she did.
Ouch.
The pain was tolerable for me, and so we continued. Ouch. She warned me before she took off each strip and told me to take a deep breath as she did it. Ow!!! Then you’re asked to lay on your tummy and if you’ve got a healthy backside, as I do– you’ll definitely be holding your bum so she can work that «baby’s booty» magic on ya. And that was the easy part, believe it or not.
All in all, ouch. But yaaay!

So, the thought of having someone so up in my lady bits without an MD. behind their name with hot wax in hand has always scared the bejjebuzz out of me. But I’m so glad that my nerves didn’t get the best of me when I booked my first virgin waxing experience! The process was relatively painless, quick and affordable. I can’t remember the name of the woman I went to but shes the blonde Ukrainian who immigrated here in the 90’s (yep, the things you learn whilst on your stomach and separating your…) Yep I’m definitely a fan and will be returning!

CARLA. You neeeeeed to see Carla if you’re at this location. She is just the absolute nicest, best, quickest, most thorough, most apologetic and gentle person in the building. I had to see someone else one time, and while she did a fine job, she’s no Carla.
Bare bones, bare bottoms… this place has no shame. Fine by me! You keep charging $ 35, and I’ll keep shuffling my hairy Mexican self in every 5 weeks.
So… am I the only person who has noticed the Christian music in the background while I’m getting voluntarily tortured? And the «Atlanta is for Christ» sticker on the door? It’s always such a strange combination. Maybe I’m the only person who finds this a little funny. «Get saved while we give you a stripperiffic lack of body hair!»
I’m done. Go here. They’re great.

This place is amazing. It’s fast, it’s thorough, and the service is great! I’ve been a regular for close to a year now and have taken several «waxing virgins» for their first time (most of them are now regulars also). While you don’t need an appt, I recommend having one b/​c you never know when they’ll have a busy waiting area.
Can’t beat the price, either! $ 35 for a full brazilian, you’ll never feel smoother!

I don’t really have anything to add to what everyone else has already said-​nothing fancy happening here, but they do a great job and they do it fast! The fact that it costs about half as much as most places makes it even better.
Yes, it hurts while it is happening-​but by the time you are back in your car, it is all just a painful memory and you are left being silky smooth :)
Also, I have to say my eyebrows have never looked better!

So, I ventured out here when I found out that this place was open. I just had to get out… I had the worst cabin fever. Anyway I decided to go with the full on Brazilian.
The room itself where is done is plain, it had the raised mat or table where all the ripping takes place, a big chair, and their supply table. The lady that did me let me in and let me get stripped form the waist down… they didn’t have the little cotton bikini wax undies that I am used to when I get a Brazilian, which I thought was odd, but whatever.
The lady came in and really went to business, she applied the wax without any strips or anything and let it harden and just went on a ripping spree. Ohh man! That was painful, but the pain just last a few seconds. I just wish I had take a couple of ibuprofen. She was quick and efficient throughout the ordeal. If she knew you were in pain she would stop for a second and apologize and just continue… rather comical when looking back since I was paying her to do this for me.
Either way, this lady was speedy and professional throughout, she even went over with tweezers on parts where the wax missed.
Overall, I was very happy with the results and with the price $ 35 plus tip is not bad as I have paid wayyy more for something like this and it had taken twice the time. I’ll def be back!

I stopped by on my visit to GA last week, and Brazilean Wax by Andreia is still without a doubt the best wax ever.
Their staff is incredibly friendly, the prices are reasonable, and this last wax was the least painful I’ve ever experienced…
Now if they’d only open a location in the Bay Area… seriously.

It took me a while to get myself up to write this review. Why? Because getting yourself waxed is not fun! There is nothing warm & fuzzy about it. I don’t have much to compare it to, the whole experience is painful! So, I have to make sure to remind myself to go back to how I felt the service was, the value, and the overall ambiance.
So, you get there, they ask if you have a preferred person. Nah, they’re all gonna cause me pain, gimme who you got. Each time, I ended up with Lucy — gimme the works, Luce, full body! If I’m gonna do it, I’m gonna do it! Takes you into a room, tells you to strip down completely, be back shortly. I swear, I don’t know how they do it. Your significant other, doctor, even YOU don’t get to see your body up close and personal like these people do. Like others have said, they don’t use strips, they just lay on hot wax, let it harden, then let it RIP. They will apply pressure to the injured spot for a few moments after they are done and you honestly don’t even recall that they hurt you a mere 5 seconds previous.
The walls are thin. You can hear other folks whining, crying, talking about a friend who tried to give herself a wax that failed big time and is too embarassed to come back…
After going through it all, you almost feel as if someone should have a room where they give you a hug or something.
The full body is $ 70. That includes legs, arms, special parts (front & back). I’ve seen some places charge that much just for one calf of your leg.
