Okay… This place is in a strip mall, but the food is terrific! The falafel and the sherwama were super tasty. The best part — the owners. Amazing people, friendly and personable. Would go back in a second.

How did I not know about this place?!? I’ve been living in Marietta since Oct 2012 and I wish I had found Basil Wraps years ago. Just tried it for the first time and it was DELICIOUS. I love baba ghanouj and this place has a wonderful homemade edition. The falafels & pita were also great. I love that they have a platter with 3 falafels, pita wedges, and baba or hummus. it is the perfect amount of food. So many places offer a falafel wrap but it is so huge I can only eat half and the other half doesn’t reheat very well(and I don’t always want leftovers). On top of the great food, the family running the restaurant are incredibly nice & friendly. We will definitely be going back!

Two parts to this review: value and service. Value: gigantic salad for incredible price. Flavorful and met expectations for Mediterranean-style cuisine. I was stuffed. Service: I’d give ten stars for service. My friend and I are pretty ignorant to Mediterranean food, so we had no idea what to order; our server was patient and thorough in explaining the dishes. He asked what I was in the mood for, then prepared a dish to meet my request(«I want a big Greek-style salad with a lot of meat») — I’m not even sure if this dish was on the menu, or if he just prepped a special salad. Then he dropped us free baklava(which my friend had never tried before, and loved). Great experience, especially for the friendliness.

Great food and very nice people. Some of the best hummus and baba ghanouj in the area. Also love the shawarma.

My wife and I used to live in downtown Atlanta and since we moved to Marietta/Kennesaw we have missed having a variety of cultures/food. Basil Wraps made our Friday! This place has the best falafel I have ever tasted. Everything here is made from fresh ingredients and it you can tell the difference. Sometimes lamb tastes a little«gamy» to me but I had their lamb Shawarma and it was super flavorful and not«gamy at all». They have several different varieties of baklava and we had a sampling of them all and they are outstanding! We are so glad we have found this place in the land of McDonald’s and Taco Bell’s and are thrilled to eat here again very soon!

I visited this place three times. Falafel wasn’t bad at all. I would recommend to buy falafel by piece and customize your sandwich at home but it won’t have a bad experience even if you buy the sandwich. Gyro is horrible. You can tell it is made of different cuts and sources of meat. The owners are nice people and very helpful. However, that is not enough for me to go back there. There are not so many places in the area that make Mediterranean food. If this place can improve the food, they would definitely become popular.

I’ve been on the search for good falafel, and this place definitely has the best. Not only is the food amazing, but the customer service is outstanding. I already have a craving to go back.

Love this food and the owners. The place doesn’t feel quite as clean as it should but mom and pop place makes it ok. 4 stars for too little attention to detail to the gyros. You kind of have to rearrange the contents.

Fantastic place. Great Greek and Lebanese style food. Prices are right in line with homemade platters. Only issue was Ken’s Greek dressing… not a true negative, but could be perfect by making their own. The schwarma was top notch! And will go back just for that. Grape leaves, baklava are both made from scratch. Super friendly and helpful with the menu of needed. Gyros are perfect.

First time trying the place after reading many reviews here on Unilocal.I tried the gyro wrap with falafel, hummus and pita as sides. The falafel was out of this world delicious. Same with the hummus. The gyro wrap was pretty good. Only real complaint would be the pita… Not bad, but certainly could have been fresher. Will definitely be back again! Also must comment that the staff were incredibly friendly!

Ahhhh! :) this little«mom and pop» restaurant is indeed a hole in the wall. The hunger was literally becoming painful and decided to eat here after a long drawn out wait next door at the DMV. All the food was made to order! Great complementing seasoning on food. I would return JUST for the spicy sauce alone. The male owner was helpful && patient(I was extreme indecisive before choosing the falafel wrap). All ingredients were FRESH, you can taste the freshness from the warm pita bread to basil in the chickpeas! I have become a regular!

Ordered take out and had the falafel wrap with fries and it was excellent! Nice mom-and-pop style restaurant. The falafel was very fresh and obviously homemade. The only drawback is the location of the restaurant. The plaza is a pretty run down.

Very casual order-at-the-counter small restaurant. People there were very nice. The food was just OK, and expensive, but a good size portion. I ordered the chicken kabob with rice and hummus with a drink for about $ 15. I could have gotten the $ 5.99 hot dog special(at a Mediterranean restaurant?) which two guys after me ordered. I would try something else the next time but not at these prices.

This is a small«hole in the wall» style restaurant in a strip center with the Driver’s License place, but the food is unbelievable. Fresh falafel, hummus and this cucumber salad, wow! Turkish coffee and baklava too. Yes, it’s pricier than the cheeseburger from the fast food place down the street, but the quality of ingredients & the amazing flavors were well worth the price to me. I’ll be going back there regularly.

Basil Wraps is a small Mediterranean restaurant located in a large shopping center at the corner of Canton Rd. and Piedmont Rd. The storefront is in between a Georgia Department of Driver Services location and a DUI defensive driving school. Other large tenants in this shopping center include Dynastic Buffet(really?) and Aaron’s. There’s not a whole lot out this way. I found out about Basil Wraps after bumping into one of the owners at Jerusalem Bakery(Marietta location). I was handed a card and was asked to check out the restaurant. Shortly thereafter, a couple friends and I made the small trek north to see for ourselves. On a Thursday lunch hour around 12:30pm, the restaurant was moderately busy. A good amount of business seemed to be from nearby business employees or people visiting the DMV. This place reminds me of a Mediterranean Grill, but on a smaller scale. The restaurant is small and feels cluttered. There’s a bunch of random stuff inside including a large photo printout of Jerusalem, an ice cream freezer, the Brazilian flag, Moroccan flags, toy fire trucks, a hookah, computer displays with Windows XP, and so forth. The business seems to be run by a husband-wife duo. The wife worked in an open kitchen behind the ordering counter while the husband interfaced with customers. The sole restroom is located in the very back of the space, so you have to walk through the kitchen to get to it. I noticed a rotating spit with meat in the kitchen, so that was a good sign. Menu items include wraps, sandwiches, salads, and platters consisting of meats such as gyros, shawarmas, and kofta; along with falafel, hummus, baba ghanoush(eggplant), dolmades(stuffed grape leaves), etc. Most of the wraps are in the $ 8 – 9 range and do not come with any sides. Most platters are in the $ 10 – 12 range and come with sides. Drinks are extra, including tap water($ 0.30 charge for the small Styrofoam water cup). I had the $ 9.99 Mixed Platter which comes with four pieces of falafel, hummus, and Jerusalem salad. Falafel are deep-fried balls made of chick peas/fava beans and other ingredients such as herbs and spices. The herbs and spices are what gives the inside of the falafel its green color. Basil Wraps’ falafels were small with slightly crispy exteriors and soft, almost fluffy interiors. They reminded me of hushpuppies and were quite tasty when dipped in the accompanying sauce. The hummus, made with ground chickpeas, olive oil, and other seasonings, was accompanied by four pita triangles. The pita slices were thick and tasted«out of the bag.» The hummus seemed fresh. Jerusalem salad consists of chopped tomato, cucumber, parsley, and tahini sauce(made from sesame seeds). As one of the owners told me, Jerusalem salad is similar to Mexican pico de gallo(salsa). It is, but it’s way more tangy and less«tomato-ey.» The salad was quite strong and poignant. With the Mixed Platter, you have the option of ordering either the Jerusalem salad or baba ghanoush. I’d opt for the latter. I caught some glances of various meats(gyro, lamb shawarma) over rice with salad and those looked pretty good. I was tempted to order those instead of my Mixed Platter. Take-out seems to be a popular option. Overall, the meal was okay. The owners were nice and it was good to be able to see them personally preparing our orders. I do think the prices are a bit steep for what you get(e.g. $ 8 or 9 for a single wrap). Two in our group left still hungry.
