I met Barry many moons ago. Sweetest and knowledgeable man. I had issue with my car and he got me in and out within 2 hours and at a cost efficient price. Now after I fixed that one issue I had 3 more so I will be seeing him again very soon. Great on VW repair and your helping a local business too.

Thanks to Daniel B’s recommendation, I was able to find a trusty worthy and effective car repair shop that specializes in Volkswagen and Audi cars.
What happened was my 2007 VW Rabbit’s transmission broke from the previous owner’s abuse on it.
If I had bought a brand new transmission, it would’ve cost me $ 3,400. But because of Daniel B’s recommendation, I went to Barry Palmer Auto because they are inexpensive compared to others and they were good at what they did.
They located a used transmission part in good condition for $ 1,600 and they charged me $ 400 in labor. Talk about saving money! They also turned the car around quickly and I got it back in 2 days. 1 day waiting for the car part to come in and 1 day for them to put it in.
First thing I immediately noticed about my car is that it drove better than when I purchased it after it was repaired. The manual shifting felt solid.
I will note, I was a little weary of their shop because parts are strewn everywhere and basically looks like a hole in the wall. But when you start talking to Barry about VWs, you start to realize that he is very knowledgeable about them and eases your fear of bringing your car to a «hole in a wall».
Barry Palmer Auto did a great job and I would definitely recommend anybody who owns a VW or Audi to get their car repaired or serviced there.

Barry and Mikel Palmer are still the best when it comes to maintaining and repairing Volkswagens and Audis. My car is getting older and as it’s aged, these guys are doing a fantastic job of keeping it in excellent shape. The Palmers are honest and professional and are bonafide experts when it comes to VWs and Audis. It’s really a shame they don’t specialize in other makes.
Mikel does most of the work these days and I feel very fortunate and proud to have him as my mechanic. He’s helped me do everything from simple oil changes and preventative maintenance to replacing worn out parts such as brakes, a thermostat, sensors (O2, MAF), and CV boots. At $ 65 per hour, their labor rates are the best.
For comparison purposes, years ago, I had a local dealership replace a CV boot for almost $ 300. Mikel replaced one for me for less than $ 130. Not only are the rates great, but the quality of work is excellent as well. I can attest to this after almost 10 visits. I plan to have Mikel do my timing belt and water pump when that’s due.
It’s great to be able to talk to the person working on your car instead of being assigned a new «service advisor» each time. Sometimes, I ask Mikel to show me parts he’s replaced on my car because I’m curious to look at them. He’s always more than happy to. Barry & Mikel know their stuff when it comes to cars (especially Volkswagens!). It’s very rare that I find a mechanic who I will let mess with my car, but I’d take her here and trust the two of them without a second thought.
