2hrs 40 minutes for an exam that took the vet 5 minutes was ridiculous. Made an apt 6 weeks earlier and was told the reason for the wait was that they were working me in around other appointments. I would never have waited if it wasn’t required as a wellness check by my breeder. Utterly ridiculous an inexcusable.

We did have to wait as they were delayed but after we got to see the doctor everyone was professional. But after that things went downhill. They have no on site imaging support. And actually getting to speak to the doctor post appt not easy

UMM… I don’t understand the negative reviews. When our dog lost her vision we didn’t want to wait for a scheduled appointment (a few weeks out). We wanted to get her in ASAP. Which means an emergency walk in. They knew we were coming but expressed clearly that it was considered a walk in and they would do their best to get us in as quickly as possible.
The wait was about 45 minutes. A lot less than an Emergency Vet or an ER for humans. Dr. King was professional as was all of her staff.
We have had to do many follow up visits. 4 visits and about 15 calls about my dogs vision. Each time the phone was answered quickly and I heard back from the doctor or vet tech quickly. They also refilled my prescription and left it at the ER vet next door so I could grab it on a Sunday late. Like 1 am late.
So far the treatment for the dog has been spot on. We had taken her to another vet and she said there was nothing we could do. With the current treatment from AES our pup has regained some of her vision and has a much better quality of life.
If you have a need for an eye specialist in Atlanta I would recommend this team. And if you go look for me in the waiting room with my semi blind dachshund.

Disappointing at best.
I had really high hopes based off of so many other reviews I found online for Dr. King.
The staff was rude and pretty unapologetic about it.
The wait time was astronomical (2+hrs).
Dr King was absolutely not open to suggestions or concerns.
Parking and location were a joke.
The saddest part about this whole experience is that people go here because they have to. They don’t have a lot of other options in this area. So, I suppose this keeps AES open for business.
I’ll be traveling out of state to get knowledgeable, friendly care… which is totally worth the travel & extra expense!

Sadly, the wait time is still an issue as of 2013 and 2014 (I have been both years). That being said, it was only about 30 mins late for me each time. It makes me wonder why the office doesn’t just schedule everyone 30 mins later (only half kidding, maybe it will work!). anyway the staff is friendly and Dr. King does seem to know her stuff as far as I can tell so far. She is also friendly with pet and owner. Anyway, it seems like a solid clinic but yes the wait time needs to be improved because it is not professional.

I subscribe to Lincoln’s tenet that if you write a letter put it in a drawer and read it the next day to see if you feel the same way. Well, I do. Until yesterday I had twice previously been to this clinic as a favor to a friend (as I’m currently in a position where I don’t have to work). The first time I took his dog for a scheduled appointment, I waited 1.5 hours for the appointment and then another full hour to receive the drugs the vet prescribed. The second time (mind you I may not work, but my time is precious and I live in Buckhead), he asked me to go pick up a refill he called inl. I drove the 35 minutes to get there and waited another full hour for the prescriptions. On Saturday, yes Saturday, I called an left a detailed message about picking up a refill for 3 prescriptions on Monday. On Monday, WHILE STILL IN BUCKHEAD, I called to inform the receptionist — whose name I will not mention but starts with a «K» — and told her I was driving out and wanted the refills ready when I get there. Her snarky comment was, «I just got in contact with the owner. His cell phone was off all morning. Maybe we’ll have them ready.» I arrived 45 minutes later. Paid for the refills. And waited again. After 10 minutes I told her, «I want the refills.» She said, «We’re working on it.» I said, «I want to speak to a Veterinarian,» An older woman in scrubs standing there said, «May I help you?» I repeated the above. She said, «We have a stack of refills called in over the weekend this high (showing her hands about 2 feet apart.» I asked, «Are you the Vet?» She said, «No, a tech.» At that point «K» plopped the refills on the counter and smirked at me. I left. Now, I have tried every which way to reach a vet. I searched online, Facebook, etc. No luck. Having looked at the other reviews, I am now not surprised. If you have another «eye specialist» option for you domestic animal, use it. This is such a surprise since I’m certain the Vet Clinic receives a premium when ordering refills thru it. No thanks. I’ll order online. People, just order the stuff online rather than dealing with this clinic. The online service will call the clinic to verify the prescription. This place’s service is a joke and may be an indication of actual medical treatment.

Horrible, horrible wait time. Just bad.
Being one of the few animal eye specialists in town, let’s just hope your pet never has an eye problem, because be prepared to waste HOURS of your time going to this clinic.
Not only making an appointment is difficult, they double/​triple book each time slot, which means even with an appointment, you will wait at least AN HOUR OR TWO just to see the doctor for let’s say, 5 minutes or less. The wait time is no kidding. Be prepared to wait.
They do offer this other option, which is to drop off your pet in the morning, and pick up the pet in the afternoon. This is an easier option, except if you want to speak with the doctor when you pick up your pet, the standard procedure is for you to wait till the doctor finishes seeing all her patients for the day, then you get to speak with her. Lovely right?
The service is fine, she is an eye specialist after all, so yes, she will fix your pet’s eye back up. Just be prepared to wait for a long long time.
