I’m thankful I had such a respectable and honest attorney for my divorce a few years ago (who I’ve recommended to dozens of people). My ex-​husband was not so lucky. He used Abbott & Abbott. We recently found out that Abbott & Abbott charged him to have an order dropped that I had already taken care of through my attorney. While speaking about this last week he said hiring Abbott & Abbott was the biggest mistake he ever made. He hired the wife and because of a «conflict of interest» he got the husband (conflict was never explained). So, they stole money from him. As you can imagine at the time of our divorce we were not on speaking terms so at the time no one knew. However, today we get along great and work well together. I’ve asked him to also write a review so other people considering the Abbott & Abbott firm will understand that Abbott & Abbott can not be trusted. Regretfully, I chose Abbott & Abbott for a service because my daughter was using him. I hired them to contest a subpoena served to me. They wrote a polite letter to the opposing counsel requesting it be withdrawn. The request was firmly denied and opposing counsel told us to do whatever we had to do. Abbott did nothing and sent me a big fat bill. I would NEVER recommend Abbott and Abbott for anything. Moving on, I hired a new attorney who actually represented me and defended me with the law. My new attorney immediately took action and filed the Motion to Quash and the Rule Nisi in my case. So thankful for my new attorney who knows how to practice law.
Turned out Abbott did not adequately represent or defend my daughter in a child custody/​divorce battle either. This office was prompt to enforce directives from the opposing counsel as if they were their messenger service and sent us the bill. Abbott racked up $ 20,000 in fees in 3.5 months and they still had mediation and a final hearing to go through. When she ran out of money, Abbott withdrew from her case. Period. There was no payment plan even offered. All for our good because finding a new attorney was the best thing we could have done. Abbott was of such little defense for her, even the opposing counsel filed an objection to his withdrawal from the case. I would NEVER recommend Abbott and Abbott for any legal defense, either small or great.
