Specialties
Society Wolf is a curious boutique. We keep a curated and focused selection of vintage and retro clothing, accessories, shoes, and more, focusing on the 1990s, 1970s and before. We also specialize in new and vintage jewelry — fine sterling silver and semi-precious jewelry, high end vintage costume jewelry, and other interesting bits and baubles. Aside from items to wear, we also specialize in interesting one of a kind antiques, collectibles, and kitsch, sourced from our travels around the country and our endless search for everything interesting. As believers in energy we also sell many metaphysical supplies, including pendulums, crystal points, worry stones, incense, and more. We are a very small shop with a large, ever growing inventory, and as so we switch out our inventory every couple of weeks, creating an ever changing, always fresh space and stock. We also host the occasional workshop, art show, and conceptual sales.
History
Established in 2013.
Society Wolf is born out of the partnership of two creative collectors. After meeting amidst stacks of antiquarian books, and discussing ghost encounters as their first conversation, the owners of Society Wolf — Ellen Arnstein and Brett Rasmussen — came together to create more than just a love for each other — to create a dream and then make it come true.
We have both spent our lives collecting and finding inspiration and creative energy from pop culture, antique items, lives once lived, metaphysics, and the feeling that there is something greater that connects us all. We believe that the objects we sell all tell a story — as many of them are one of a kind and vintage — and we believe in helping those items through their journey to their rightful owners. We believe in an energetic, changing, and eclectic space, and will continue to travel the country (and the world!) hunting for those items, hand picking them, and bringing them home, to Society Wolf, for you.

Ellen A.
Business Owner
Ellen Arnstein is co-founder and co-owner of Society Wolf, a curious boutique. After a childhood amongst 18th century American antiques (her father is a well-known furniture restorer), endless antiquarian homes (her mother worked PR for local antiquarian agencies), the family’s dry cleaners (opened 1929, currently 3rd generation), and a lot of beautiful clothing (her grandmother schooled at Tobe Coburn in the 40s and worked as a merchandiser for G. Fox and Co.), Ellen naturally grew to love and adore old things and the stories and lives they carry along with them.
After graduating from the Loomis Chaffee school, and working for two small art supply stores, Ellen received her BFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts and Tufts University, and took a job working for Ken Gloss at the Brattle Book Shop. There she spent five years buying and verbally appraising books, gradually realizing her skill set and interests placed her on a clear path to opening her own boutique.
