History

Established in 1985.

Carol Kent Yacht Charters was founded by husband and wife, Christopher and Carol Kent. Originally, Carol was a social worker in Dorchester and Southie, but rethought her commute and career when her children were born. Since moving to Marblehead, MA from Wisconsin, she fell in love with sailing. While bareboat chartering in the Virgin Islands, she had an epiphany. She decided to work with people who wanted to have fun, so building a network with people in the boating industry began. Carol Kent took classes at Radcliffe College for business management and joined every professional group in the area for networking. Carol then found herself having a wonderful clientele of corporate leaders, experienced yachters, and in general, adventurous people.
