Save The World Brewing

This place was amazing. After reading about it in the Austin monthly magazine I knew it was a place I wanted to try out. What had me hooked was that all the proceeds go to charity. After a hot afternoon hiking Enchanted Rock, I couldn’t wait to have an ice cold beer. Upon entering the facility we were quickly greeted by a sweet lady named Quynh (her husbands name was Dave) who welcomed us in and gave us a short background on the brewery. She let us know our options for flights, or pints. Since there was 4 of us we decided to get 3 flights which allowed us to actually try every beer. The beer ranged from a couple darks ones to extremly light, also some citrusy ones as well. After going through each beer 3 of us decided on the Power of Sour! Amazingly different, sour, sweet, citrus flavored. My husband opted for the darkest beer which was a Chocolate Mint flavored beer. We recieved our beer in a pint glass shaped like a tall wine glass. Really cool glass that we were even able to take home! As we sat outside Quynh made it a point to come outside, introduce herself to each of us and remembered our names when we went back indoors to order more. She chatted us up for a little while asking us where we were from, or where we were visiting from. Was really genuine and extremly knowledgeable and helpful. Although they don’t serve food here, they did have a popcorn machine, which they made sure our bowls were always full lol. Overall a great experience, a great brewery. Worth the trip. We will definietly be back!

Man, this brewery was the greatest. We went on a spontaneous road trip last week from San Antonio. The owner/​brewmaster, Dave, was working the bar with his wife, Quynh. It was a tiny space, but overall friendly vibe. Quynh especially made sure she got to know everyone’s name.
They offer tours on the hour on Saturdays, and we caught the 3pm tour with Dave. It’s not every day you get a tour of a brewery by the brewmaster! It’s a small company, Dave said only 6 – 7 employees, and his tour was much better than other tours at breweries which are often led by a tour guide with no real investment in the brewery.
Also, it helps the beers are tasty. I especially liked their seasonal Passion Fruit Fructum Bonum. Would definitely visit again!

Do yourself a favor and go check out Save the World! The beer is excellent, the staff are incredibly kind and the owners are some of the kindest people I know. Also! Make sure to get on their email list! They hold a lot of fun events throughout the year!

What a wonderful experience! Dropped in for the tour Saturday (after a huge Texas hail storm Friday night), and we were truly impressed.

Great beer variety — and I am not even a beer person — my 2 college age sons loved it.
We will absolutely be back when in the area.

Amazing owners have started this outstanding brewery to benefit charities around the world! The only thing that makes this amazing brew taste even better is knowing that all the proceeds go to an awesome charity. Get drunk and save the earth.

Unfortunately the flavors of the 11 different beers that we tried were not to our liking.

We had such an enjoyable time here today. I am not a beer connoisseur but really liked the Agnus Dei Witbier Ale (slightly stouter version of a Blue Moon). Mr liked the FROCTUM BONUM ale. We also spent a delightful afternoon chatting with a couple from New Braunfels, Mike & Desiree. You can join their True Beerliever Club and get your glass saved on the wall for your next visit. Owners & staff were super friendly. Highly recommend everyone should stop by and save the world one beer at a time.

We love love love this place. I am not a big beer drinker and I have loved every beer I have tried. The service is impeccable and the beer is great! A must come see!

This place was so much fun! The energy level was very high. The owner knew us all by name after just one introduction and spent alot of time with our group. She was great. We tried both flights so we could taste all of the beers. There was something for everybody. You can keep uour glass or join the club and hang it on the wall where it waits for your return. Refills are only $ 3.50! Great place for friends to spend a hot summer afternoon.

Save the World Brewing claims to be «America’s first 100% philanthropic brewery.» Of course, it is generous of the founders to donate their profits. However, there is a limit to how much you should boast about your own generosity, and certainly to how much you are allowed to exaggerate.
Let me clarify:
First, it’s fairly well-​known that philanthropic breweries have been around for decades. Save the World Brewing can’t take credit for being the first one, especially since it’s pretty easy to uncover articles like this one: «First non-​profit pub in U.S. set to open in Portland.» In fact, a simple google search for «nonprofit breweries» returns dozens of non-​profit breweries which were founded well before Save the World Brewing got its start.
(It is possible to argue that not all non-​profit breweries are 100% «philanthropic.» However, since Save the World Brewing seems to define «philanthropic» as giving away 100% of profits, other non-​profit breweries are also, by this company’s standards, 100% philanthropic. Actually, you MUST give away all of your profits if you want to register as non-​profit… something Save the World Brewing has NOT done, at least according to Texas Comptroller.)
Second, is it really so noble to pay yourself an «industry average salary» but «have a dedicated staff and volunteers… [who] work long hours for little, if any pay»? If the owners are as generous as they claim, couldn’t they pay their employees average wages and pay themselves less than average salaries?

Great beer, though

The special ladyfriend and I went out to Horseshoe Bay this past weekend to celebrate a belated one year anniversary. However, as avid explorers and beer nerds, we decided to swing by and check out Save the World brewing. What a great experience!
Quynh was a superb host. Her husband and her decided to quit practicing medicine and open a brewery where they donate their profits to charity. It’s the first of it’s kind in the US, which is really neat. They offer a «Beerliever» package which helps support the brewery and the non-​profits that they support. We decided to become Beerlievers, which came with a t-​shirt, a pint, and more. We also bought two of their awesome beer glasses.
The brewery has a great setup with some excellent equipment. They definitely invested huge when they opened the facility because they had some top-​notch equipment. They offer tours every weekend.
The beer is great; my personal favorite was their soured barleywine, but they don’t always have that in stock. The regular barleywine was excellent and came in at close to 10% abv if memory serves me correctly. My third favorite was their witbier which was delightful and easy to drink. My least favorite was the mint chocolate milk stout.
Definitely worth the trip out to Marble Falls!
