Breakfast, lunch, dinner, beer & wine, provisions… get it here! Welcome to Grassy Key Outpost; an island market and grill. «The Outpost» is a «must stop» spot in the middle Keys. Its home at mile marker 58 has been a famed stopping point for travelers passing by and vacationers settling in, for generations. Stop in and you will discover a friendly vibe that echoes a simpler time when guests sat a counter, talked fishing over cold drinks, ordered take-out lunch for a day on the water, or for the road while listening to fish tales and stories of the FL Keys colorful past.
Today we are newer but just as comfortable. The concept for «The Outpost» was to create something to meet complementary needs of a small island including exceptional local dining with hand-crafted fare; groceries and provisions for home, vacation home, or on the water; a bar for cold drinks or a home-style lunch; a tropical patio for al fresco dining; along with food and fine wines to go.
Stop in and «Feed The Soul».
History
Established in 2013.
Grassy Key Outpost, est. 2013, is the site of a few old landmark Marathon restaurants. Today it still reflects Marathon-area dining history; known for local island color. Today like the early days it is a popular destination for comfortable dining combined with more upscale culinary presentations, and good take-out food for travelers. It is known as a local haunt for residents seeking an unforgettable breakfast, lunch, dinner or those dropping by for our renowned authentic Italian espresso.

Business Owner
Matt and Carolyn Anthony
Matt and Carolyn are seasoned restaurateurs. As 10-year proprietors of Sparky’s Landing in Key Colony Beach they have a love of hospitality and a sense of the wants and needs of both locals and Keys visitors. They acquired «The Outpost» in February 2016. Their vision is to continue to offer a respite, an «outpost» between Marathon and Islamorada — a place you can count on for warm welcomes and friendly smiles.
They continue the original «Outpost» founders’ desire to create someplace unique — a spot for exceptional local dining; groceries and provisions for home or on the water; a bar for a cold drink or a home-style lunch; a tropical patio for al fresco dining; along with fine wines, beer and meals to go.
