I loved doing the horseback ride at Cocoraque! I’ve gone on other horseback rides before when I was younger. and usually your horse is following a line of other horses and you’re just along for the ride. Here it’s completely different. You’re in control of the horse. It was quite fun. The guy running the show, Van, is a nice old cowboy. He has plenty stories to tell and really knows how to deal with horses. This is an actual cattle ranch, so it really feels quite authentic. When you call to make a reservation, make sure to leave a VM, as you’re actually calling his cell phone. He calls you back.

I purchased a deal through living social in Aoril for two one hour trail rides. Every time I called to schedule I either got a voicemail or someone telling me to call back because he was on a ride and couldn’t schedule at that moment. I left countless messages that were never returned. Needless to say after months of calling I finally got ahold of someone in September. We scheduled a ride for October 20. When I showed up THEREWASNOONETHERE. I called and was told that he «would not take the blame for this and this it must be my mistake». Really?! I called the owner who yelled and called me a liar and then hung up on me. After hanging up on me he sent me a TEXTMESSAGE asking for my address. When I asked what it was for, he said a refund. I have waited two weeks and got nothing. When I text him he told me «CALLLIVINGSOCIALFOR A REFUND, DONOTCONTACTMEAGAIN». Do not give these guys your money until you’re ready to ride. Once they have it, you are no longer a priority. Go somewhere else, like Pantano Riding Stables. They are much friendlier there.

Ride through a working cattle ranch! POSITIVES: + Horses available for all levels of riders + Van, the wrangler, is totally cool. Has tons of stories to share and found me a piece of Indian pottery as a take-home souvenir, how cute! + Small and personal group rides. +Beautiful wide open acres of land to ride around NEGATIVES: — By appointment only so make your appointments! — Couldn’t find the cattles since they were keeping cool elsewhere :) Good to Know: — Don’t forget to wear lots of sunscreen, you’re riding in the Sonoran Desert!
